...and yet my only regret are the ones I missed out on buying ;_;
....and maybe a little bit how much I have spent on them.
....if anyone from tokidoki is watching this pls hit me up
Also - I realized I didn't explain, but I refer to chase figurines a couple of times. Each series has at least one "Chaser" which is a figurine you have to chase because it is way more rare (1/50 or 1/100). These usually sell for like, 5-10x as much as the commons.
If you are looking to buy open boxes of these, I would recommend ebay and or mercari. It is really hard to find some of the ones from earlier series, and if you can they are likely expensive due to their rarity. Since I bought these as they came out I didn't pay anything near the current prices you'll find!
For blind boxes the tokidoki website tends to be the most expensive. I'd recommend supporting smaller resellers or sites that do regular sales, like hot topic or barnes and noble (though they don't carry as many types).

The peacock feathers from the seller, American Feathers, are listed as being naturally molted and cruelty free. I haven't investigated that claim further - but I do have fond memories of collecting shed peacock feathers in fields at a zoo when I was younger. So I know it is possible!

(And yes, the fact the grain on the paned portions is wrong will haunt me forever. The worst part is I did tests to see if it had a directional grain and decided it didn't because it was less prominent in artificial lighting.)
Also - there is no mention of recent events in this video (though recent events have really just sparked a discussion about problems plaguing the US for centuries). This was filmed over a month ago - and I ultimately like my content to be an escape from the rest of the world.
I’ve never used the community tabs on youtube before and thought it would be disingenuous to start now. However I've been pretty vocal about my stance on instagram - I don't think people should be treated differently because of the color of their skin. Black lives matter. Police brutality is wrong. I have nothing but respect for protestors and have donated to numerous BLM and police accountability charities. And would encourage people to do the same - here is a link! secure.actblue.com/donate/ab_mn
I don't tend to talk about politics on social media, but this isn't a political issue. It's a human rights issue. In the same vein, I also want to make it clear that I support people of all orientations, genders, ages, races, religions, etc. and hope one day we can all be treated equally. Because none of those things change your value as a person, or how deserving you are of good things and happiness.
As long as you don't use your beliefs or preferences to put down others then I have nothing but respect for you. This is a channel about making historically inspired clothing, historical beliefs or values have no place here.

ALSO I'm not trying to say nail polish can save the world and cure your depression or something. I just know in rough times sometimes it's the accumulative little things that push you forward, and having sparkly fingernails are one of those things for me - which is a big part of why I love polish so much. But I realize it's not that deep for everyone!
And I don't why I added an S to the word glitter. I don't think I've ever done that before in my life but I guess the excitement of the topic reduced my intelligence...or maybe it's the fumes

I have also used ILNP and really disliked them so I no longer have them in my collection.
If I have a polish from a certain brand, but haven't ordered from them directly, it's because I purchased them through Hypnotic Polish or back when Live Love Polish stocked other brands. I don't want to recommend sites I haven't personally ordered from which is why they are marked as such!
FAVORITE colors from my collection are:
1. Mr. Mint from Cupcake Polish
2. Damsel from Starrily
3. Sea of Lies from Emily de Molly
4. The entirety of the treasure chest collection from Pop Polish
If you are trying to get into indie nail polishes my number one recommendation is cupcake polish. They do glitter SO WELL. Whether the polishes have big or small glitter particles, they always look super sparkly and apply smoothly without needing a coordinating base coat or more than two coats.
I feel like Shleee has the most consistent formula - the jellies, glitters, duo chromes, etc. all apply and perform well with only one or two exceptions. They just don't always look the same in person which can be disappointing.
I really like every polish I own from Polished for Days and Emily de Molly, so they rank highly on my list as well but I don't have a large pool for comparison.
POP Polish definitely has the most unique and "best" colors, but the formulas can be rough to work with an inconsistent.
I would NOT recommend ILNP, or Enchanted Polish based on my experiences. Just because they are very liquidy and don't dry well. But I also really dislike OPI polishes and they are the bestselling brand out there. Everyones nails and tastes are different!
