How To Make Custom 3D Printed Frames In Minutes 3D Prints By Vic 2026-09-09 | I make a lot of HueForge art, and the frame has always been the part I settle on. Not any more. LayerStudio just added a frame generator that designs the whole thing for you — the border pattern, a shape that breaks out of the edge, the colourway, and a 3MF that opens in Bambu Studio with the settings already in it.I printed two of them for my Kanao piece before I filmed this. The first one came out so big I could put my head through it and I could barely fit it on the H2S — because I missed one slider. The second one I got right. Both are in the video, and that setting is the thing I'd most like you to take away.Here's what we get into:- Picking a border pattern — or importing your own SVG so the border is whatever you want- Inner frame size is the artwork going inside, not the frame itself- Frame width, and why it decides whether the thing fits your build plate- Adding a shape and turning on "allow frame expansion" so it sits proud of the border- Detail layers, step depth and layer thickness, and what they actually change- Why this is flat colour at a normal layer height — no transmission distance, unlike HueForge- Hitting random until a colourway lands, because I am genuinely bad at picking colours- Exporting the 3MF with the printer profile and settings baked inThis is not sponsored and I don't get a kickback. My skin tone blend has one flaw — I think I found the fix #hueforge 3D Prints By Vic 2026-09-08 | Terracotta way below a white is my go-to skin tone blend. It works — it lands a shade darker than the original image, and honestly I've always been okay with that.Then I got put onto Polymaker Pastel Peach. One drag into HueForge and the preview is about as close to the real thing as I've seen.Quick correction on myself, because a filament nerd will catch it: I call it brand-new in the clip and it isn't. Pastel Peach is a PolyTerra PLA color that's been around a while — Polymaker has since rebranded that whole line to Panchroma Matte. It was new to me, not new. And straight up, I don't own this spool. What you're looking at is HueForge's preview, not a print off my plate. Polymaker's Panchroma TDs ship preloaded in HueForge's library, which is the only reason I can preview a filament before it ever shows up. My HueForge frame only did 200x200. Not anymore. #hueforge 3D Prints By Vic 2026-09-07 | The modular HueForge frame I put out on 29 October 2025 had one hard limit: 200 x 200. One size. One square. Take it or leave it.So I rebuilt it into a parametric tool. Frame Studio resizes the frame to your actual print — anywhere from 98mm to 595mm — with eight presets built in: Poster 200x200, Landscape 200x150, Small 150x150, Tile 100x100, Half 100x200, 2:3, 3:4 and 9:16. It checks the fit against your printer's plate and hands you an STL that's already oriented the right way up.Two honest limits, because "any size" is me being excited on camera. The real range is 98 to 595mm, and bookmark formats (67x200 and 50x150) get filtered out — they can't be built as a frame yet.Where it actually lives today: Frame Studio is in beta inside HueForge Pro Tools, and that's part of the HueForge Pro tier on my Patreon. Stop retyping your HueForge export settings #hueforge 3D Prints By Vic 2026-09-02 | Every time you export a 3MF out of HueForge, you're re-entering the same print settings you already dialed in last time. You don't have to.The 3MF export plugin will hold your own template. Plugins → Export 3MF → Import Template → Browse → pick a project you already set up the way you like → Import. It pulls in every setting from that print, and it's sitting there waiting on every export after that. It is so, so handy, y'all — and it lives in a menu that's easy to scroll straight past.One thing before anybody goes hunting for it: the 3MF export plugin is a third-party add-on from Additive Atom, not something built into HueForge. It's a one-time 15 bucks on the official HueForge store and it needs HueForge 0.9.4 or newer.
