EPIC 100-Dish CHINESE Buffet at China Red ๐จ๐ณ Dan vs Food 2024-08-04 | #chinesefood #buffet #china So, today's my last meal in Edinburgh and after eating so much insanely delicious Scottish food over the past 5 days I decided on some different; Chinese buffet!With great reviews and boasts of more than 100 individual dishes to choose from, China Red was the one I decided on. This restaurant offers everything from chicken balls to shredded duck pancakes to teppanyaki & spicy king prawn dishes, salmon sashimi, even pizza!! The vast array of options is overwhelming, pretty much impossible to try them all, I show you all the dishes at the start of the video just to show you but I only managed to eat maybe 30% of them, wishing I had space for more. Considering this is a buffet and the dishes are laid out for a while, everything I ate tasted fresh and wasn't dry & was full of flavour.If you're looking for a decent buffet at a reasonable price, I would recommend China Red. The only downside was the mapo tofu. It was overly salty & spicy, no love & care was put into this dish. After trying mapo tofu in China & Malaysia, I'd have to say this was the worst Chinese dish I've ever eaten, very disappointed ๐Saying that, everything else was damn good.Enjoy the video guys โ๏ธ

The soup wasn't overly fishy, the smokey rich soup was of perfect consistency, with massive chunks of delicious fish evenly spread throughout. I can see how Scottish people can easily eat this dish on a cold winter's day.The pie was crispy on the outside, gooey and wholesome underneath, filled with a beautiful beef steak filling in gravy, served with caramelised onion sauce, mashed potatoes and roasted veggies. divine!!To end this meal I had haggis; lungs, liver & stomach of a sheep, served with mash and turnip and a whiskey sauce. This dish is a must try, must cook & MUST EAT!I'll be taking you through the entire process, from what fillings to use & how to prepare them, how to roll, fry, and fry again! Then we'll make the famous & utterly irresistable nouc mam dipping sauce. All the ingredients are mentioned in the video, I don't go by exact measurements when cooking, but if you follow my method when you make them yourselves, you should be fine.One thing to take note on, with the dipping sauce is that ALL fish sauces, vinegars & sugars vary from brand to brand, so keep tasting the sauce as you might have to make some small tweeks. Usually 95% of the time the sauce might need added water & sugar, so keep this in mind!I seriously miss Asian food, especially Vietnamese, so I couldn't resist making the rolls today. It's been too long since I've eaten them, so it just had to be done. I was surprised how much I paid for 4 items of what should be cheap vegetables, well, they are cheap everywhere else around Asia that I've visited, but here, seems not.I end up spending a lot more than expected at this wholesale market, do locals really pay that much for cabbage??? It started at 13:30 on the dot, and finished at 14:00 precisely.The streets and roads emptied quicker than I could process it. Tomato Steak!I was originally going to order the marbled beef, but the owner approached me with a Google translation saying "I will customise a meal for you", how could I decline!After having a bowl of the unlimited chicken and sweetcorn soup with garlic bread, he brought me over a sizzling hot plate of two different steak cuts, a gigantic halibut fillet, and 2 king scallops...I was in genuine shock when he lifted the lid off the hot plate and saw what was underneath! The restaurant is so colourful, vibrant and energetic, and so is the food!I ordered a bunch of dishes, some of which I've never even tried such as tamales, I had pork and chicken, because I couldn't decide, both amazing! FIRST TIME Trying TAIWANESE Breakfast in TAIPEI Taiwan ๐น๐ผ Dan vs Food 2023-07-15 | #taiwanesebreakfast #taiwanesestreetfood #taipei Today is my first time eating Taiwanese breakfast! Upon arrival at Yong He Soy Milk King, one of the most popular spots in Taipei for traditional breakfast, the first thing I noticed was the deep fried bread sticks...golden and crispy, towered up fresh out the fryer, the second I saw them I knew I was getting one.This restaurant's menu is quite extensive, a ton of different soy milks, rice milks, even peanut milk, plus a huge selection of omelettes wrapped in pancakes, pancakes wrapped in roti, roti wrapped in all 3 alongside radish cakes, poached eggs & more, I found it quite difficult to decide which dishes to try out. In the end I went for 7 dishes including pork steamed dumplings! Probably the best dumplings I've eaten here in Taiwan, perfect pockets of juicy meat and oozing with the fat's natural gravy in a soft outer dumpling casing, absolutely delicious is an understatement ๐๐๐I hope you enjoy the video today and thanks for watching โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ
UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS TAIWANESE FRIED RICE!! ๐น๐ผ Dan vs Food 2023-07-11 | #friedrice #taipeistreetfood #taiwan In today's episode I would like to bring you on a relaxing evening walk around central Taipei, Zhongxiao Dunuoa District, to see what kinds of restaurants and street foods they have here. I'd like to keep this vlog chilled and show you a more raw vlog, with less editing, so you can see everything I see. So, this video is longer than usual but slow paced and relaxing. If you like walk-around videos like I do, you'll enjoy this vlog.We stay within the main city block, we don't venture too far, but as you'll see there's plenty to see! So many restaurants, street food stalls, vendors selling everything you can imagine, and many other things to discover even in this little area.After exploring around for a while I decide it's too hot so I take refuge in a fried rice shop and order my first fried rice in taiwan, seafood fried rice!Wow....the rice was unexpectedly good! The rice was slightly undercooked, a bit chewy, and the seafood was so fresh, squid, prawns, fish balls, yum!!To accompany the rice, I added soya sauce, and the best chilli oil sauce on the planet! I couldn't believe how good this chilli sauce was, I kept adding more and more, it was seriously addictive, I couldn't stop adding it, more and more!! ๐As I was almost finished with the rice, the restaurant owner surprised me by pouring me a glass of Taiwanese beer! He gave me a bottle of beer free of charge, so friendly! So we said cheers multiple times!
