What they didn't announce was which satellites they planned to use. This video is a quick look at the information Skylo has given us, and at anything else we can find about it.
Music: AdhesiveWombat - Composite Pt. 2
CORRECTION: At 6:40, the first two services mentioned in the pop-up (satellite phone services on the TerreStar Genus and the proposed service from the Buy This Satellite project) are incorrectly described as being provided by SkyTerra-1, owned by Ligado, when in fact they were on the similarly-named but unrelated TerreStar-1, now owned by Dish Network. MSAT-G3 push-to-talk service, on the other hand, as well as Skylo's planned service, ARE provided by SkyTerra-1.

The end result is a seriously capable low-cost gaming system, built around an E-Waste dumpster dived prebuilt and upgraded with a 750 Ti and a beefier power supply!
While setting up to film this video, I dropped a power supply on my white background, severely damaging the desk surface and requiring a full surface replacement (made out of posterboard, like the rear of the background). Though this was annoying to build and delayed the video by around an hour, the surface is now slightly wider (meaning that it will need to be digitally widened during editing less frequently), and can be replaced if any major damage is done to it. Overall, an improvement!

(Day 5)Dodoid2017-12-06 | I recently purchased a VGA to HDMI adapter in order to connect VGA devices to my HDMI recording box so as to record the screens of devices not equipped with HDMI ports. Unfortunately, the VGA adapter appeared not to work properly, and I edited this video to end with my explaining that either the adapter was broken, or I had configured something incorrectly. After the video was fully exported, and the title and description already written, I thought I would have one last go at the adapter with yet another computer, and, surprisingly, it worked! That means I can now properly record the screens of VGA-only devices, such as SGIs, older PCs, or my Librebooted ThinkPad T400. Stay tuned!

I used Passmark PerformanceTest 9, 7-Zip, Cinebench, 3D Mark Fire Strike, and 3D Mark Time Spy, and tested with both the stock graphics card and a GTX 750ti.
Apologies for this releasing a few minutes into December 3rd. Benchmarking took MUCH longer than expected, and power supply issues with the system caused me to switch the power supply twice before the system was stable.

In addition to the usual benefits of free software, Libreboot also allows installation of significantly faster CPUs than the stock BIOS, something I plan to take full advantage of in a later video.

Though the phone itself is very capable, the battery is beginning to show its age in many units, so replacement may be required. Please note that damage to the glass on the rear of the unit may occur during removal. If you are concerned about breaking it, replacement glass pieces can be obtained cheaply online.
