The Amazing Screw-On Head (2006) HD Upscaled & Subtitled Ogrebaffley 2024-04-06 | The pilot episode of an unproduced series based on a one-issue comic book by Mike Mignola. Starring Paul Giamatti, David Hyde Pierce, Patton Oswalt and Molly Shannon.The stark Mignola style and a competent DVD rip provided a reasonable basis for an upscale effort. Used AniScale V1 by Sirosky and waifu2x NCNN Vulkan for the initial upscale, then GIMP/BIMP/G'MIC for levels, sharpening and resolution adjustment. A convoluted workflow, mostly because of hardware limitations. There's some motion smeg as a result of deinterlacing artifacts present in the rip but I find it hardly noticeable in playback.
