Unlike the first game in the series that had top-down behind-the-car view, it is more similar to Outrun and Rad Racer done in third-person perspective view with three long race tracks having a different variety types of terrain making it feel like a real rally race. Each of the race tracks has multiple routes to the finish line, requiring you to find the best path to victory. There are three different cars to choose from which are; the speedy Kattabi coupe, the balanced Yonque truck, or the rugged Monster buggy. To beat each of the race courses, you must reach each checkpoint within a certain time limit. If you reach the crossing line too late, the time is reduced from the time bank. If the time bank runs out, the game is over. Reaching the checkpoint before the time limit successfully adds extra time to your time bank. You can also collect red hot exclamation marks scattered throughout the tracks. When you collect enough red hot exclamation marks to fill the dash meter, you get temporary access to the hot dash, which is the fifth gear that increases the speed giving the fastest speed as possible. Before each race, you are asked to place a repair point somewhere on the track to allow you to repair any damage done to your car, so long as you pick a route that leads you past the checkpoint. If you take too much damage, the game is over. The game supports a 3D video with 3D glasses with Famicom system having 3D support giving you the real feeling of the depth of the race course in a landscape. This also allowed players to submit their best times via Famicom Disk Fax Kiosks located in various stores for a chance to win a Disk-kun stationary set. Unlike the first game, the game does have an ending. You must beat all three races with all three cars to unlock the ending.Like its predecessor, this game was an inspiration and influence on the Mario Kart games in the 1990s. Alternatively, you can just enter the stats to "import" characters from other role-playing games (this is also used as a primitive "save / load game" mechanism).After character generation, you enter the dungeons. On the left, the current room of the dungeon is displayed; the character status and other info are displayed on the right. One thing that sets Temple of Apshai apart from other rpg is that the manual contains detailed room descriptions for each room (that may contain hints about traps or treasures), to create atmosphere despite crude graphics.You move about and perform actions like opening doors, firing arrows, examining walls for secret doors etc. by pressing key commands. Moving is also done without cursor keys: You turn your character into the direction you want to go and then move him forward by 1 to 9 steps, also selectable by single keystrokes. But take care of fatigue: If you keep running all the time, your fatigue rises, and if it reaches 100%, you cannot move or act for some time -- which can be deadly in the presence of, say, a Giant Bombardier Beetle.Each room may contain treasures to pick up (sometimes just trash, sometimes gold, sometimes useful items), secret doors which lead to hidden parts of the dungeon and traps, which obviously should be avoided (you can try to search for them). Of course, you will also encounter monsters -- a variety of undead or giant insects -- which you have to fight using turn-based combat. Apart from the normal attack, there is also the thrust (which is more effective, but risky), and you can also fire arrows at distance or parry. To avoid a fight, you may also try to speak to them.If you return to the Innkeeper, you gain experience, which increases your stats. The game is a bit similar to an artillery game but here the player's input is limited to entering the number of bags of powder (from 1 to 10) that should be loaded and then watch the flight of the cannon ball. To be able to sink the ship it is necessary to first destroy its three sails in order, starting with the top one. After each shot Sir Edwin makes one shot on the tower which will collapse after taking six hits. The player will then end up walking the plank. If the player manages to sink the ship a medal will be awarded.

There are three different types of fighters roaming throughout the galaxy; cruisers, fighters, and basestars. With the help of your galactic map, you can find the sectors of the galaxy where these fighters are located and then warp there to destroy them. When all of the fighters in a sector are destroyed, you can warp to a new location for the next battle. Be sure to keep an eye on your starship's energy level; warping to new locations, being hit by enemy fire, or colliding with an asteroid will drain your energy. If you completely run out of energy, your starship will be destroyed, however you can warp back to a starbase to refuel at any time. Returning to a starbase will also repair other types of damage your starship can receive, such as faulty engines, loss of your shields, and faulty photon torpedoes. When all of the enemy ships have been destroyed, you win the game and receive a rank.Note: Played on commander difficulty (hardest). Could not get the star commander rank after beating the game since half of the starbases were destroyed which affects your ranking.

You move your king two squares in the direction of the rook to castle with. The 2600 will then automatically move your rook around your king, completing the move. You cannot castle out of check and you cannot castle to the king's side if any squares between the king and rook are threatened.Another maneuver is called en passant. This move is used to counteract the enemy pawn's initial double move on a adjacent square. To carry out the en passant, you must advance your pawn to the fifth rank. Your opponent then has the option of moving his or her pawn one square (where it would be under attack) or two squares. If you opponent elects to move two squares, the en passant move allows you to take that pawn by diagonally moving your pawn to the square that was skipped over.Note: Same as the Atari 2600 version but with more detailed graphics.

The players can either shoot the puck quickly or pass it slowly, and can also trip other players (at the risk of a penalty if they do not have the puck). Stealing the puck and intercepting shots are also possible during gameplay. NHL Hockey features 4 different speed settings, selectable at the beginning of the game.

Mattel Intellivision Game: Hard Hat [Prototype] (1979 Mattel Electronics) Old Classic Retro Gaming 2022-09-07 | A platform game where players control a construction worker whose job is to add windows to two separate buildings.Each building consists of six floors that contains space for five windows per floor. The buildings themselves are separated by a crane holding a scaffolding. Players have to grab the sheets of glass from the scaffolding and place them on each floor one by one. However, there is a vandal located at street level who occasionally hurls a rock to break a sheet of glass that had been added to the building thus slowing down the construction workers job. If the player can get five windows across on a floor or six windows lined up vertically with one on each floor, the glass becomes unbreakable thus thwarting the vandals vandalism.Since the scaffolding moves to each floor, players have to get to the higher floors of the building by climbing pipes. Once the player takes ten windows from the scaffolding, it goes back down to the street to get a refill of sheets of glass. During this time a cooler filled with soda will randomly appear on a floor which the player can scurry to in order to gain some bonus points before it disappears. The game ends when all the windows get added to the building and the player climbs to the top of the building to receive their final score.There is also a two player mode where two players compete against each other to see who can put up all the windows for their building first. Players can slow down their opponents by smashing their windows with a hammer. The gameplay rules of the single player game apply in this mode too. The player who has the highest score at the end wins the match.This game was planned to be released for the mattell intellivision console but was cancelled.

Each player controls a gorilla which is wandering through the jungle. As the gorilla walks on, it will encounter a creature which has a math problem with it. You need to enter in the correct answer to the problem as quickly as possible. If you get the answer correct, your gorilla may continue on. If you get the answer wrong, then your gorilla must jump into the river. Your gorilla is unable to leave the river and continue on until you answer another math problem correctly. The goal is to correctly answer as many of the problems as you can in the shortest amount of time. The game includes eighteen different levels of difficulty which can be set individually for each player.
