How To Foundation Half Double Crochet (Fhdc) Briana K 2023-07-04 | If you already know how to do the Foundation Single Crochet, then learning the Foundation Half Double Crochet stitch will be a piece of cake! And let me tell you, it's a stitch you want in your skill library. So let's dive right in! Just follow along with the video instructions and we'll get started.To begin, all you need to do is make 2 chains. Easy, right?Ch 2. Yarn over, and insert the hook in the second ch from the hook (the first ch made), and pull up a loop. This first loop acts as the chain portion of the Fhdc.Yarn over and pull a loop through the first loop on the hook (3 loops still on the hook). This loop acts as the first part of a standard hdc.To complete your first foundation half double crochet stitch, yarn over once more and pull through all 3 loops on your hook. Ta-da! Now to keep on going making the rest of the Fhdc stitches.Now, to make the second stitch, yarn over and insert your hook into the "chain stitch" you made earlier, under the two loops of the V on the underside of the previous Fhdc, and pull up a loop. Note this first loop acts as the chain portion of the Fhdc.And finally, yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on your hook to finish your next half double crochet stitch.And there you have it!
