I'm fascinated by buildings because of all the stories within their walls. Pun not intended, but there are stories in those stories!
The stories of connection, of family, of friendship, of struggle, of growth, of changing times, all of it! That's what led me to adding all the words around the buildings- as if it was snippets of overheard conversations.
The building masks are from my There Goes the Neighborhood collection at StencilGirlProducts.com and actually, every stencil you see here is from StencilGirl!
You might have noticed there is some tape on the masks covering up the windows. That's because when you've got a mask you've got options. Use it just like it is, or mask off the details inside it (that's what I did to make these full silhouettes). I love the flexibility of masks!
What will I do with this? I could use it to cover a canvas, but right now I'm feeling the pull to cut it up and use it in my art journals and collages.
I'm spray painting inside, using a low odor spray paint by Liquitex and the windows are wide open (hence the traffic noise) and I'm wearing a mask.
