Go and reserve your seats now➤ What did I improve in this video?I joined the trailer industry over a year ago, and since then, I have learned everything ranging from storytelling, pacing, structure, motion graphics, sound design, and so much more. When I saw this movie was coming back to theaters, I knew it was time to put this knowledge to the test.Overall, I think it came out great! My goal was 1 to 4 strings of dialogue for the teaser, and I nailed it down to 3 lines that just drive home the point of this movie is the breaking point of Anakin turning to the dark side. Additionally, I wanted this to be as different as I could reasonably make it from other fan or even professional trailers dealing with specific movies. Tonally, I started light but ripped it away with a dark riser, a boot march, and a heartbeat. I also wanted to put some caps on myself, restricting my use of footage that does not show Anakin turning into or is already Darth Vadar. I believe it turned out great.The other major focus point was Title Cards and I learned a lot through creating these cards. I used a combination of After Effects, Element 3d (VideoCopilot), Optical Flares (VideoCopilot) and Photoshop to create the title cards. I wanted to expand out more into other genre that is not just pure action or superhero movies and overall I think it was a wonderful experience. With that said, this is the first time where I have done multiple Stop & Starts. I beginning to practice this more as it is an industry standard to atleast have a few in any trailer.Next is Title Cards, yup, those title cards in there were created by me, though I did use the OG Trailer as a somewhat guide / template to base them off of, I will get more creative in the future.Finally, this is the first time I used 3 different songs in a trailer and mixed them extensively, there are parts from the first song in the other 2 pieces of music and vice versa. I wanted to really test my boundaries on what was possible for this trailer.➤ Contest Submission!This trailer is also being submitted for a contest for “The Refinery” and the contest is called “The Greatest Movie Trailers”. This video was yet another test to see how quickly I can produce high-quality content in a short window of time. I started this video on Monday with anc completed late in the evening Thursday. This has been long overdue, I recently obtained a pack of these to add to trailers in addition to dissecting them and learning how everything works, unfortunately I was missing the plugins so I had the creator render a few for me. His information is in Special Thanks Too.Finally, the last areas I improved were my editing style and sound design. For the editing style, I wanted to be even bolder with my cuts and transitions, with that comes an increase in sound design. I may release a playlist in the future of unlisted videos of my trailers with sound design, as listening to this one without music was incredible. This took about a day and half to put together, this includes finding music. I believed they turned out very well. [Final Space] The Unforeseen Hero - Extended Edition MrCUrchin 2022-05-13 | Why was an Extended Edition Released?This is a common question I get asked when making this video, the reason behind this was the original video that was uploaded was for a contest on the Final Space discord called Contentcropolis. The video was supposed to be released in a long format but due to time constraints, I released the first 3 minutes. Where was Season 3?For those who follow me on Twitter, I had issues adding Season 3 from a creative perspective. By the time I found a way to add it to the video with good quality the main video was already completed. I worked on adding Season 3 for a better part of a month and I was unsuccessful in adding it in an impactful way that still drove the story this video told, so it was removed.Why did this Take so Long to Release?If you did not know already, I want to keep the videos I release to be as high quality as I can possibly make them. I made this decision when I released the SW Teaser, it was a half-baked video and the quality was poor. I received some backlash on it, so I vowed never to do this again.How Long did it Take You to Make this Video?I spend around a month on the first 3 minutes of this video, besides that since the time of its release, I have been working on it for about 10 to 20 hours a week for the past 4 months. So overall about 5 months of working on this project.The only reason why it took so long as I did not have a clear story created that I wanted to tell and once I found one, editing did not take much longer.What did I improve in this Video?This is my first long featured tribute video, with it being around 8 minutes long I spent a lot and I mean a lot of time focusing on the story to keep in interesting all the way through. From what some of my peers stated, the video did not feel like it was 8 minutes as it was interesting all the way through.
