The Brewster Track is a rewarding alpine adventure to Brewster Hut in Mt Aspiring National Park. With stunning mountain views and the lure of a glacier experience beyond the hut, it attracts many walkers looking for an exhilarating day hike or overnight tramp. Many people have, however, needed to be rescued in recent years and some have tragically lost their lives.
This safety video takes you on a journey of the track. Discover what to expect, understand the challenges, learn how to prepare, and assess if you have the skills and experience to safely enjoy this incredible alpine adventure. It also emphasises the unforgiving environment and risks beyond the hut, including no marked route, exposed and difficult terrain, and often icy conditions, even in summer.
