Real Ale Brewing, Blanco (2017)
Long before craft beer was a Texas buzzword, Real Ale Brewing Company was already brewing in the basement of an antique store in Blanco, back in 1996. Nearly three decades later, it's grown into one of the most respected names in Texas craft beer, and it's still made down a dirt road in this same small Hill Country town.

You've probably had their Fireman's #4 Blonde Ale, a Great American Beer Festival medal winner and easily their most recognizable brew. Stop by the tasting room and you'll find a dozen or so others worth trying, but don't skip their barrel aged Mysterium series. Letting beer sit in old wine and whiskey barrels changes it completely, and it's worth tracking down.

Weekend tours will walk you through the entire brewing process, but even a quick stop at the tasting room is enough to understand why this little brewery in Blanco built such a big reputation.
