Bread Uttapam: South Indian Snack 🍞🌶️
manjulaskitchen.com/bread-uttapam-south-indian-snack
Remove the crust from the bread and cut it into small pieces. In a blender, combine the bread, sooji, all-purpose flour, salt, yogurt, and water, blending to create a thick and smooth paste. Transfer the batter to a bowl and mix in the cumin seeds, bell pepper, tomatoes, ginger, green chili, and cilantro. The batter should be thick but not runny; add more water if needed.
Heat a skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it. Pour about 2 tablespoons of batter onto the skillet and spread it to the consistency of a thick pancake. Drizzle a little oil around the uttapam. Cook for about 2 minutes, then flip it over and cook for another 2 minutes until both sides are golden brown. Avoid cooking on high heat to ensure the uttapam cooks through properly.
Notes: Serve bread uttapam with your choice of chutney, such as coconut chutney or green cilantro chutney.
