Forging Damascus Knives by Hand is stressful... Njord Artisan 2021-11-26 | I'm finally back with the epic finale of my handforged damascus trilogy and this time I can actually show a functional knife. The blade is made from 20 layers of 15n20, 1095 and O2 that were twisted. The spacers are brass and the handle is, as always, some unlabeled hardwood that I don't know the name of. Restoration of a WMF Santoku Kitchen Knife Njord Artisan 2021-07-01 | A friend of mine has this knife that he very much liked to use. He's a hunter so he used it to chop through bones and such, so after quite a lot of heavy use the handle scales popped off. I put on some new scales from a piece of wood that had a crack down the middle and thus wasn't of any use to me anyway. Hidden Tang Hunting Knife with Hamon Njord Artisan 2021-05-06 | In this video I am making a hidden tang knife out of 1095 steel. It is diffentially hardened using some furnace cement, which creates a nicely visible line, the hamon. The guard, pin and pommel are all out of brass and I still have no idea what kind of wood this is. Forging a Tanto - Mistakes were made PART 1 Njord Artisan 2020-10-28 | Forging a Tanto from a lawnmower blade. At first I didn't want to upload this because there is no finished knife, but I figured it might still be interesting to see what happens when a project doesn't go according to plan.
Forging a Wakizashi out of Scrap Njord Artisan 2020-08-17 | As the title implies the blade was forged out of an old lawnmower blade, the brass is from an old sign and a bathtub faucet and the handle is made out of reclaimed oak shelving. I tried a differential hardening but quenched in oil so sadly the hamon is not visible.
