Just about every year I try to do a shoot that features the Pantone Color of the Year. I like the idea of doing something that such a major influential brand such as Pantone says will be the hot new color and will be used in media, clothing and more. It helps keep me on trend, and even experiment with colors I may not ordinarily try!
If you follow my work regularly, you know that I love super saturated colors and bold images and that's exactly what I set out to do with this 3 light bold fashion shoot.
I wanted something that featured the color of the year for 2021 -- Illuminating yellow -- but also that contrasted it nicely. That was the theme for this shoot, something bold and graphic with high contrast, hard light and gels! π
This was a relatively simple 3 light setup with minor tweaking in post processing to get the colors where I wanted. I think this is something you can easily achieve if you have 3 lights (hint I show a similar setup step by step in my Magic of Gels series and guide linked below).
Lighting Setup: π
π‘ Mainlight: 1x barebulb with Zoom reflector + blue gel
π‘ Background lights: 2x barebulb
