After making contact with more insider sources, I've obtained a copy of a PowerPoint presentation / investors' pitch deck for Ashes of Creation that was used in a meeting attended by shareholders, lenders, investors and Intrepid Studios leadership. This PowerPoint had been quietly making the rounds with a few other content creators and I've verified the legitimacy of its existence and content with multiple individuals.
The document / PowerPoint shows that Intrepid Studios was insolvent and that restructuring with many changes were planned for including a mass layoff of 110 employees with an eyebrow raising proposal of not giving severance or fulfilling PTO compensation. Unrealistic timelines were projected or shared including a September 2026 launch of Ashes of Creation 1.0
Furthermore, there was a roadmap planned for the game's development in 2027 which mention a $20 subscription fee to play the game rather than the previous public advertisement of a $15 sub-to-play. Projections, KPIs and risks are also mentioned.
