Saving a Commodore Amiga A500 from the trash Kari 2024-07-20 | It this video, I will be bringing back to life a Commodore Amiga 500 that was heading to the trash, through replacing it's broken floppy drive with a brand new Gotek (floppy drive emulator) drive, not from a kit bought online but from scratch using a bog standard drive bought from AliExpress.🟣 I will be going through the whole process of finding the right Gotek USB drive, flashing it's firmware to the Amiga compatible FlashFloppy, showing how to wire and connect an OLED Screen and Rotary Encoder to the Gotek board. I Fixed this 40 Year Old Computer // ft. Commodore C16 Kari 2024-10-08 | Join me today, while I unexpectedly have to diagnose and fix a 40 year old faulty Commodore 16 Home Computer from 1984 that has developed a glitchy black screen fault.🟣 I originally got this computer out to fix a broken F1 key and then realised it no longer worked at all. So I had to diagnose that issue before moving on to sorting out the faulty key. Soon found out it was down to a faulty 8501 CPU, and luckily remembered I had a compatible CPU (found to be a 7501 version) in a Commodore Plus/4 from my collection that I could borrow that I used to test and find the fault. Now I've got the machine working again, I go on to show how to fix/well replace a broken key, by swapping the snapped plunger with a new one. Then reassemble and attach a new key.🟣 As mentioned in the video, I'm looking forward to reading in the comments what chip replacement everyone things I should get to replace the faulty CPU. Lets Fix a Faulty (PSone) PlayStation Kari 2024-09-07 | In todays video, I will be trying to fix a PlayStation (PSone) with a video fault, through replacing a couple of leaked capacitors (C550 "S-Video" and C551 "Composite", both 220uF 4V SMD type). Removing the Xbox Clock Capacitor before it destroys the console Kari 2024-06-01 | Today, join me as I attempt to future proof an original Xbox (released in 2001) gaming console, by removing the clock capacitor which is well known to leak (in versions 1.5 and below) and cause permanent damage to the motherboard. Plus, I even have a quick go at playing HALO at the end.🟣 The clock capacitor (a 1F 2.5v supercapacitor) allowed the Xbox to keep track of time.🟣 Removing it and not replacing (applicable to versions 1.5 and below) will just cause the system to ask you to set the time again, if the system has been off for a while.🟣 I believe from reading online, if you remove the clock capacitor from a 1.6 board you have to definitely replace.
