So my friend was playing Bloodborne for the first time. She got grabbed by Cleric Beast, and placed in this corner. She was falling and couldn't get out. But you also can't die while falling (until the falling timeout occurs and insta-kills you). Cleric Beast kept attacking, but kept getting hurt by the plunging attack hitbox. And killed himself on it. It seems the most broken things happen only when I show games I like to my friends lol.
