This is the First upright Carpet cleaner that Bissell has ever made, but it was Not on sale for very long, because Hoover Sued Bissell for patent infringement. The 1st Generation of the upright Bissell Powersteamers was similar to the design of the original Hoover Steamvac. Model 1690 is the model here in the green colored handle and it doesn't have the Dirtlifter power brush like model 1695 has and that has a blue colored handle.
