So as a part of the new patch on the PTR we have a giant questline involving Arthas. Everything from him being where the Scarlet monastery currently is, to him claiming frostmourne, becoming the lich king and the ultimate battle that we had previously seen. Interestingly enough the other 2 questlines are all super relevant to the current story with Xal'atath and the ethereals but everyone is wondering what is up with Arthas all of a sudden? While he may not be coming back as a new villain, not only is the story of Lordaeron super relevant for Midnight but also Northrend is insanely relevant. We've learned that the Icecrown citadel has syphoned the essence of the world soul and Arthas definitely knew something that we still don't know yet. So what is all this new lore?
