The best pop punk album of the last 5 years is The Greatest Generation by the wonder years.

It's time for a discussion/debate about the best pop punk album of the last 5 years.. This is a lot to think about, and it was honestly pretty tough for me, and you obv already know my choice but a few runner-ups/contenders include but are not limited to: Life's Not Out To Get You by Neck Deep, What You Don't See by The Story So Far, and Copacetic by Knuckle Puck.

Pop punk is a genre that is known for its childish antics, often immature lyricism, and it often disrespected by many that review or are music connoisseurs. I understand where they are coming from, why they make the arguments they make about this genre, but I truly believe that even if you hate pop punk, you'll enjoy The Greatest Generation. It has outstanding lyrics, a diverse track list, and talks about REAL things. I think that's what makes the album personally. It's not talking about how sad your middle class suburban life is.. It talks about growing up, depression, addiction, love, loss and everything in-between. The way that it is talked about and the overall tone that accompanies the topics is just another selling point on the album, because anyone can spout off about depression or addiction, but most people cannot do it like Dan Campbell (Soupy) and The Wonder Years do.

You could argue that The Greatest Generation by The Wonder Years isn't pop punk, and I could see what you're saying but I would personally say that this is their first step away from the genre while still maintaining the overall feel and vibe of pop punk.

The Greatest Generation came out May of 2013 via Hopeless records, I specifically remember pre-ordering it in March with my dad while we drove to Pahrump, NV to buy fireworks.

This album will always hold a lot for me, and I have to be honest.. I am very surprised it still hits me the way it does to this day. If you have never listened to The Greatest Generation by The Wonder Years, I implore you to do so. You will not be disappointed, and if you are I will straight up give you your money back and I didn't even give you money in the first place.

Let me know what you think the best pop punk album of the last 5 years is!

Thank you for all the support lately.. feels like we just passed 2k.. and now we're on a steady climb towards 4k. Man, I'll never get tired of saying thanks, if you watch my videos, you truly give me life. I don't even care how cringey or pretentious that sounds, I'm just being dead honest. I cant't wait to see where we are in a year. -Nate
