The second video on bell hooks's essay "The Oppositional Gaze: Black Female Spectators," in which we juxapose some of hooks's ideas with the film Get Out (Peele, 2017). Topics include the representation of the film's black female characters, a comparison of the character of Georgina in Get Out with the character of Tilly in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (Kramer, 1967), and examining the themes of looking/vision as well as black spectatorship in the film.
