Dont Mine at Night MAP (Part 20) KatAuroraMist 2022-12-02 | Ehhhh look at me making warriors content~Totally on a whim but I joined a 2 week map! This was pretty fun and I'm pretty happy with myself that I actually finished it in time lol If I had more time I probably would have made the backgrounds 3D but I opened blender and said eeeeehhhhh not today. I did use blender to make a rough outline of the trees and such and then made my own minecraft themed brushes to make the backgrounds. Minus the sky all the "blocks" did start off as 16x16.Also I've never really done anything with Swiftpaw and Brightpaw. Like the only time I've drawn them was for a brief cameo in my Sandstorm/Firestar PMV. Every other time I've drawn Bright it's been as Brightheart. Somebody to Love MAP part 26 Remake 2022 KatAuroraMist 2022-06-04 | The original is like, one of my most popular videos and it's so bad ugghh I couldn't stand it anymore so I made this pretty quickly lol. I didn't say I was remaking it cause I did not want to hold up the project if I couldn't finish it in time. That's kinda why I didn't animate Breezepelt at the end leaving with Nightcloud like I did in the original part. But then again I feel like him being in that shot would of taken away from Nightcloud's spotlight moment. He probably just started leaving when his mom started busting out a solo cause he did not want to be there anymore LOLI didn't really save a lot of my progress with this so no progress shots this time sorry! I will say I animated everything in Clip Studio, made the grass shots in blender for the zoom out and the end, and composited everything together in after effects. Strawberry Swing Part 12 KatAuroraMist 2021-10-11 | *checks watch* Ah yes it's been a few months, I have come to bring ya'll a new MAP part In all seriousness, yes it's been a minuet since I've finished an animation, but I'm really proud of this, I did a lot of experimenting towards the end there in after effects and I think it paid off! I'm also super excited about this project! The MAP call will be in the end card and I'll update it once the full MAP is out which should be fairly soon! It's focused around Feathertail and Crowpaw's relationship, although my part ends up focusing on Stormfur's confrontation with Sharptooth and Feathertail's reaction and realization. I used a cover for this video! I don't make money off youtube and don't care too much about copyright claims since it doesn't usually effects anyone but this is one of those where the song gets banned in a few countries mainly countries in southeast Asia and I know a few of you are from there! MerMay Speedpaint KatAuroraMist 2021-06-01 | Heyo! Speedpaint is just a day short of hitting May however here I am with a new video finally! I really got inspired to draw Kat (my sona) as a mermaid for MerMay so I worked on this for a good portion of last month and I'm pretty happy with the results and so excited to share my process with ya'll! Unknowing to my audience I posted the intro (which is still used in here) in Nov 2015 unlisted on youtube. Mind you this was back when I used only SAI and Movie Maker. I got busy and kinda dropped the project. Years pass and in 2018 I decided maybe I'll make an edited AMV with all my MAP parts cause I still loved this idea. And so I did in Movie Maker, and I thought maybe I'd make some original animations still to go in it and never did (you can still tell some of the effects in the beginning are movie maker ones, cause up until 49 seconds was ripped right from the movie maker version). Later in the year I finished "The River" MAP part and was like, heck yeah I love this animation let's throw it in there. I did some work on it but my old PC was crap and eventually the file was too big to work on without crashing. I worked on it again a little this year, still wanting to add some original stuff, and had basically up till the 2 minute mark done. Recently I finished another MAP part with Sweet Storm and knew it was time. I edited this together for the new year, and even redid some of the animations for Crystal (the red-haired girl) since her design had changed. This Edited AMV now has most of the MAP part with Sweet Storm in them, a few clips from unfinished memes and a few animations just for this. Cold MAP Part 19 KatAuroraMist 2020-12-22 | AAaa its done~ and I'm not dead? Yay!Sorry for like- not doing literally anything this year. I've been working in a grocery store since the beginning of this pandemic and I've just been utterly exhausted since March. Which makes me so sad cause I wanted to do so much this year! At least a vaccine is coming out and hopefully people stop crowding the stores after Christmas so things can back to me posting like every few months instead of a year lolAnyways about the MAP part! Not going to elaborate too much, if you've known me for a while you'll recognize Sweet Storm from this. Not really a cannon scene from anything but more of a winter themed analogy for cannon stuff. And the new character? Is she friend or foe? It's a secret shh. Technical side of things this part is a lot of firsts, first animation completed in Clip Studio Paint with composting done in after effects so the backgrounds didnt feel so stiff. Also halfway thru the part I got myself a screen tablet for Christmas (Huion 16 Pro), so that was a fun new experience. Sea of Auroras (2013-2020 Decade Animation Reel) KatAuroraMist 2020-02-04 | Decade 👏Review 👏this is so late rip. I coulda kept working on it but man, this project was killing my computer. You may have noticed the watermarked parts in this- there from the All MAP parts video I did back in 2016. As much as I hate the watermarks it made editing this video so much easier cause I didn't have to go digging for those clips. It also helped to make this pretty much in order to show my progression as an artist. I started making digital art in 2013 and man has it been a wild ride. It was almost the total of the last decade, and I've been drawing thru the good times and the bad. 2019 was a rough art year for me, and 2020 is starting slow too, but I hope I can rekindle my spirit for drawing for fun and not caring if it's perfect 100% of the time. Thank you to all of you who have stuck with me for so long, and thank you to everyone still stumbling upon and taking an interest in my art. As with the majority of my animation reels I try to make them more of a AMV style edit with trying to match the music and making it a unique experience. The River OC MAP Part 3 KatAuroraMist 2018-11-25 | TIS DONEMy goodness- I didn't go into this with wanting to do more of a lineless/painted but that just the direction it went in. And I think it turned out ok! Especially since humans are not my strong point lolSo I don't want to explain this too much but basically Crystal is thinking about things, and so is Sweet Storm, but they comfort each other in the little limbo world they can both enter when they're asleep. I thought they would both fit the theme of the MAP. Sweet Storm has amnesia and only remembers bits and pieces of her past, while Crystal is held back by the time she nearly died in a car crash. They both help each other overcome their past. There's a few other characters there at the beginning floating around in the stars- only one I've released a thing about (lo-key if anyone can tell me their name I will draw you something!)Crystal and Sweet Storm are both main characters in a book series I'm (ever so slowly) writing! Danny Dont You Know MAP Part 25 (+process) KatAuroraMist 2018-10-01 | Ahhh it's Done!I'm pretty happy with all the movement in this. I wasn't sure what I was going to do at first but everything came together pretty well I'd say!Anyone who might not know, these are Kat and Kat (lol) The white character with purple hair is my oldest fursona (she now goes by Dawn) and the pink and yellow kitter with rainbow hair is my newest fursona. This MAP is about talking to your older self. I had no lyrics to work with so I went with Kat showing Dawn the catwalk above the stage, when Dawn falls. Kat picks her back up and places her on the star in front of the crowd. Yay!The end card had some meaning to it. The picture of Dawn in the top right is the last drawing I did of her before I made Kat's newest design, and the bottom one is the one I've been using for end cards. But the faded middle actually comes from a vent art I made a few months back (prior to joining this MAP) with Dawn telling Kat that been thru worst and it'll get better. Yuukei Yesterday~ A Sandstorm and Firestar PMV KatAuroraMist 2018-09-19 | It's finally here!I have been working on this simple project for nearly two years now, I started beginning of 2017 with plans to upload it for valentine's day but became busy and after missing that deadline I extended the PMV (originally it was going to end where the logo shows up again). So I've just been working on this on and off and you can't believe how great it is to see it done after so long, and how proud I am that you can't tell what's old vs new lolThis was meant to be done in a simple style to try to do everything in adobe animate since I was still learning the software- and oh boi did I learn more things from doing this! I didn't understand symbols for the longest time so there's 180 layers |DAnyway! I always loved Sand and Fire. I shipped them since Into the Wild cause I thought they'd make a cute couple- so here we are! This was an idea floating around in my head for years because I thought it fit Sand pretty well, with the beginning of their relationship filled with irritation to one another. At the end I feel like Sandstorm was wanting to say "I love you, you idiot" before Firestar died but couldn't get the chance. Characters!
