Stonycon was created to remedy that. Builders arrive from all over the country & even across the ocean to share & show off their creations as well as ideas. Molds are commonly shared, files exchanged, techniques are taught, materials tested, ideas are fueled & friendships are built.Who gets to go??? Year one (2015) was almost entirely exclusive to the 20 or so artist that make up the Stony Props team. Year 2 (this year) we opened it to our team plus 10 or more highly recognized builders that were able to commit their time and financial resources to make it to this event. We invite as many people as we can, but this is held at a member’s house that just happens to have a large enough place and a big enough heart to host the event. There are so many great builders out there but we have a limited amount of space to work with. There are many more builders out there that deserve to be on the invite list, unfortunately space is limited and invite list has to be cut way to short. There’s always 2017 who knows what future holds. It’s one of our aspirations to be able to open this up to the public someday.
