Double Dragon Neon ReviewInfiniteComboReviews2022-12-10 | Released in 2012, Double Dragon Neon, while partially being a parody of the series, let’s not forget that, attempts to be the shot in the arm the franchise needed after lying dormant since the beginning of the 3D era. A stylish coat of paint, funky fresh music, voice acting, online play, and even a sudo level up system all made the cut.
Neon should have been the definitive Double Dragon game, but wouldn’t you know, just a few years later, the series would go back to its 8-bit roots with Double Dragon 4, despite the fact that Super Double Dragon was essentially 4 and that Double Dragon 5 is most certainly a thing that exists. So does that mean that Neon just wasn’t good enough? #doubledragonneon #DoubleDragon #retrogaming

But, the 90s are long gone, that castle has crumbled, and while the beat’em up genre is still alive, they’re not the same mindless quarter crunching, button mashers of old. They’ve evolved. Mutated even.
So with the turtles back, can they do the same? Can the Heroes in a Half Shell reclaim their throne in the modern era, can they recapture that classic feel while still bringing something fresh to the table?
