Yami Spechie Nostalgic and wistful yet expansive in range, Pilgrims of Yearning’s unique sound was born in 2018, after Juls and Claudio moved to the United States from Chile. Pilgrims of Yearning released their first EP Bestarium that same year and followed with the album "Forsaken Lands", released in the middle of the pandemic. Their sound has been described as "your soundtrack to introspection, lament and disdain", and as an eclectic mix of Post-Punk, French Coldwave and Latin American influences.

They have previously billed with bands like She Past Away, Kaelan Mikla and Vision Video, and had an acclaimed participation in the first edition of the Dark Spring Boston Festival in May 2022, among bands like Golden Apes, Secret Shame and Child of Night.

Current plans include the upcoming release of their new EP "Hadal" and preparing material for their second album and an European tour in 2023.

Yami Spechie 2022-09-30 | Other Voices are Vincenzo Amato (voice), Giuseppe Dromì (Guitar), Giuseppe Bonelli (Bass), Francesco Misiti (Drum) and Alda Ferrazzo (keyboard). The band began rehearsing at the end of 1998. In 2005 they released their first album “Anatomy of a Pain”, produced by the Roman label In the NightTime. Their work met a large approval by press and expert webzines in the field. Ritual Magazine put them into the most interesting news of the year. In September of 2010 they started recording their new EP “Beloved Child“ in England, precisely in Liverpool, supported by the charisma of Francesco Mellina (ex Dead or Alive) and by the producer David “Yorkie“ Palmer (ex bass player of Space). The Ep is released in 2011 in England, at the recording studio there were sound engineers like Pat O'Shaughnessy, Simon Denny e John Withnall (Coldplay). From the Ep was extracted the song "Beloved Child", the video for this song was directed by Mark Jordan. The Ep met large approval from music critics and it was played on important radios as BBC Radio (Uk), Cool Rock (New York), Amazing Radio and others. In October 2014 they were back in studio in Liverpool recording a LP of 11 tracks. The band chose The Parr Street Studios (Coldplay, Paolo Nuni, Echo and the Bunnyman...) in Liverpool. Again “Yorkie” is their producer and Pat O’ Shaughnessy returns as sound technician. A way Back was released in 2015 for the Roman label RBL Music Italia (Goodfellas distribution ) A way back met a large approval from press and expert webzines (Rumore, Rockerilla, and more).
Other Voices was opening act for: El Guapo, The Buzzcocks, Wayne Hussey (singer of The Mission), Spiritual Front, Ash Code, Lydia Lunch, Stuart Braithwaite( singer and guitar of the Mogwai), The Names. The new album is called "Under Control" and the released is expected in Autumn 2022.

They Die is a musical trio that gravitates around the gothic post punk world, offering the sounds of the genre's dawn - of the early eighties - revisited in a contemporary key. The project is inspired by the atmosphere of the alternative discos of those years, reworked in the decadence of our days, obsessively repeating, like a mantra, the love-death duality, seen and interpreted as the apex of an existence lived in abandonment.
The band is made up of three musicians who have long been active in the alternative environment:

Adam Darski (Behemoth, Me And That Man) has been such a huge inspiration for me and my musical career that I just could not hold myself from making a cover of this great song.

Although the music genre from "Me And That Man" and "Deus Ex Lumina" are not so close to each other, the message, the aesthetics and the subculture is intrinsically related.

In this Darkwave version, I tried to give it a little bit of a twist and to create a song that can disrupt the goth dance floors without losing the soul of what the original song represents. I hope you enjoy it as much as me making it!

Kandinsky Noir - Another Substitute Pt. 3 - Thus Shifting Absolute

Yami Spechie 2022-09-02 | This is the third of 3 videos to be released with a short interval on Yami's Channel.
“Another Substitute” represents the continuation and expansion of "A Substitute for Love", released in December 2021.

If the first song dealt with the topic of bulimia and indifference, this 3 parts suite switches the focus on the influence of capitalist power relationships within the realm of love: experiencing the Otherness as a matter of consumption, as a product to be replaced as soon as this gets obsolete and improductive.

Hunger turns to greed in this long track, caught in the machinery of power establishment reproduction throughout the series of substitutes, a series that promises liberation and self determination while it shows the underlying truth of the dominance of the object over the illusion of the subject.

This third, final part is a one riff based black metal track characterized by the alternation of 4/4 and 6/8 in the first phase, shifting to a coda, which reprises the main riff of part one but in this case shifting from the former 6/8 to a 7/8 , hypnotically repeating until its disappearance. An all finishing synth and piano line closes the suite

The video, a collaboration with Max Berg, contains striking and unsettling images, this time reverting on the topic of revenge or self punishment: a frantic duel takes place in a forest, stained figures engage in annihilating each other while a crime is about to be committed: against the protagonist herself.

Yami Spechie 2022-08-12 | Feu Follet is a one man synthpop/coldwave/post-punk project from Nancy, France, which started in 2019 with the instrumental album "Le champ des morts" and since then has released an album per year via Berlin-based label Blackjack Illuminist Records. On the new album, "IV", the sole member, Alban Blaising has asked female and male vocalists to sing on his songs. The result is surprisingly catchy, yet haunting. Alban Blaising on writing "On The Switch":
"With "On the Switch" I wanted to create a somewhat surreal and magical atmosphere.
Based on fairly simple sounds like a sine wave, stuff in the spirit of a "glockenspiel" made with a resonator and an electric piano like "Wurlitzer".
All this to create a kind of soundtrack for an old science fiction movie, a black and white thing, with crude special effects on fantastic creatures and taking place under the seabed.
The chorus on the other hand is more epic and sounds more 80s, maybe influenced by artists like "The Psychedelics Furs" or "The Mission" for the 1st part then goes on some more post punk and electronic then.

Alexander Donat (Vlimmer) on the lyrics of "On The Switch":
Hearing the instrumental for the first time I immediately had Super 8 footage of the sun in mind. If it were a living creature or some kind of god, what would it think about us humans and our flaws, our wars, our absolute failure to live in peace? I pictured the sun as someone whose in constant doubt about humans. With the sun's fingers (rays) on some kind of switch that allows to kill them, she/he has to decide whether to let us live or send us to death in the form of skin cancer for example. Wthout the sun there wouldn't be any life on our planet, so we ultimately depend on her mercy.

This second, central part is the most complex in terms of rhythmic structure, based on a guitar riff in 15/4 and moving towards an anthemic chorus and a lightning fast guitar solo.

The lyrics are deeply political but imbued in the substantial presence of the body as territory of the symbolic inscription of the commodities: as a fetish among fetishes the body of the bourgeoisie succumbs to the machinery of production of value, detached from the essence of the corporeal itself.

The video, a collaboration with Max Berg, contains striking and unsettling images, this time reverting on the topic of temptation: The siege of the body through the mundane needs, caressed from the joys of possession and possessed at the same time, as instrument of pleasure and receiver of this.

A spoken poetic epilogue follows the main video: this time wolves hunt for spring.

GOLDEN APES - From The Sky (Official Video)

Yami Spechie 2022-07-29 | Berlin’s Golden Apes exist in a rarefied sphere that seems at times to be almost untouched by the outside world. They are blissfully genre-fluid, happily popping-up alongside everything from gothic and post-punk, to art-rock, before burbling away into realms of their own making. Lyrically, their songs can be tragic and melancholy, or uplifting and joyous, intellectual and literary observations and musings coupled with fascinations around the occult and philosophy, and the music reflects this - a depth without pretentiousness and an ease with a tricky or complex concept. They’ve also got better with each new release.

Their latest EP ‘From The Sky’ sees an invigorated band with an adjusted line-up (the core of the Lebrecht brothers still intact), post-Covid, and bursting with ideas. Lead track ‘From The Sky’ drives arrow-straight into the future despite gently brushing with the dynamics of The Chameleons, a powerful, understated, cyclical and driven backing, with Peer’s imperious and controlled vocals whisking you away to somewhere quite magnificent. Play it a second time and it’s well and truly fastened itself on to you. This is superior song-writing.

‘Hold Me’ is measured, almost gentle, a tumble of hope and yearning, whereas ‘A New Days Dawn’ noodles about mysteriously before launching itself at you with drama and passion. ‘Hole’ almost trips itself up in an enthusiasm to be the best modern rock-song ever written, and it sparkles and shimmers and goes running around the place like a sugar-rush. You feel like you should tell it to calm down a bit while at the same time applauding the youthful energy and exuberance of it all. A remastered ‘Satori’ struts confidently into view, before the EP closes with a mix of ‘From The Sky’ that adds a Coldwave / Synth Pop feel to the original, creating an extra layer of otherworldliness to the whole.

If Golden Apes can come up with an EP of such quality and consistency as this, then whatever else they are cooking-up in that rarefied sphere (untouched by the outside world) promises to be truly special. We need bands like this. They possess a magic best left unexplained.

Another Substitute represents the continuation and expansion of "A Substitute for Love", released in December 2021.

If the first song dealt with the topic of bulimia and indifference, this 3 parts suite switches the focus on the influence of capitalist power relationships within the realm of love: experiencing the Otherness as a matter of consumption, as a product to be replaced as soon as this gets obsolete and improductive.

Hunger turns to greed in this long track, caught in the machinery of power establishment reproduction throughout the series of substitutes, a series that promises liberation and self determination while it shows the underlying truth of the dominance of the object over the illusion of the subject.

This first part is musically a prelude, characterized by a hypnotizing beginning, almost a mantra, leading to the main spoken part with the evocative voice of the French polyhedric artist Valérie Hendrich, and ending with a bass solo.

The video, a third collaboration with Max Berg, contains striking and unsettling images, depicts in a plastic manner the symbolic overpower of money, literally covering the body, and a Totentanz with the faceless embodiment of consumption. A mortal soliloquy is added at the end of the main video.

DEUS EX LUMINA - DARK DAYS (Official Video)

Yami Spechie 2022-07-23 | Dark Days is about those days when we feel completely lost, with no clear goal or direction. Those days where our feelings are upside down and that would be impossible to tolerate without our loyal companion and best therapist, music.

It’s been a while since I made any music at all. Last couple of months had been a little bit crazy for me, I was caught up in a lot of shitty work and had 0 time, inspiration or motivation to write anything else.

On top of that I felt like Deus Ex Lumina was losing its direction and I started to miss a lot the genuine darkwave vibe which was the original engine of this project, so I was even unsure about which kind of music to produce.

But after thinking about what makes me happy, I discovered that music is such a big part of my life that it can never be something that I just do for work, and no matter how much I get payed or if I get tons of clicks or plays on Spotify, in the end music is so much more to me than the results it produces.

So I decided to go back to what I love: darkwave, post punk and goth in general, which is my home, the subculture I grew up in back in Buenos Aires and still feel part of today here in Berlin.
