This is the last one! The show officially ended in December of 2020 after I'd posted the hourglass video, the series finale. Well, this is the channel finale! We all knew this day would come eventually. Remember, when you are watching this, you're watching the last Microwave Me video ever made. This, being the final video ever, I wanted to make something special, despite there being a very limited budget due to getting almost no views nowadays. This is a special light bulb, not too costly, but still cool. I bought two of them just in case something went wrong. It did! As you can see, I cleaned out Zoey right before doing this. I was actually amazed at how perfect I was able to clean her. Well, I forgot to press record. So, I had to do it all over again with a dingy microwave. It doesn't matter because everything you needed to see is perfectly visible. I'm going to, for the final time, answer a few of your questions like I used to do in my clip shows.Q: Why did you end your microwave show? You still have an audience.A: I do appreciate you guys who stick around. That's why I made these two bonus videos instead of just ending it with the channel eulogy. But we have to look at the logistics of running a microwave show. It's expensive. It's not like most videos where the only expenses are the recording equipment. Also, I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. I'm expected to have production values befitting a channel with 14K subscribers while getting views befitting a channel with 14 subscribers. For years I said if you guys didn't start watching again, I'd have to end the show due to the show becoming a money drain. Well, this isn't just a giant light bulb, this is a supergiant light bulb! It puts the high pressure sodium and metal halide light bulbs to shame with its sheer size! In fact, this is the second biggest light bulb I ever microwaved! The first being the so-called megabulb back in the beginning of my show for episode 200 which also became my longest microwave episode. And this is not that much smaller than that megabulb. So far this makes two supergiant light bulbs that I've microwaved in addition to countless giant light bulbs. I'm hoping that I made the right decision to do two extra episodes of Microwave Me, two after-the-show specials. I'm doing this for you even though 99% of you probably don't care, maybe 100% of you, but I assume some of you miss my microwave show since after I ended it in December of last year I've been hearing "please bring back Microwave Me" nonstop. Well, I did it, at least for two episodes, anyway, so you'd better show your appreciation! I'm a realist, I know this is going to lose me money and only net like 100-300 views, but I'd made this promise back in January, and I decided it wasn't fair to you to go back on it because of issues with censorship trolls and the fact that the 30 of you who wanted Microwave Me to come back are literally the only ones. The Death Of A YouTube Channel - How I Gained And Lost A Small Following Making Microwave Videos MicrowaveMeShow 2021-01-13 | I was originally going to call this "Microwave Me: Eulogy" but went with this.I was sick when I recorded this, so that's why I sound very hoarse towards the end. I announced last month that due to a nearly nonexistent fanbase, I was ending Microwave Me. We all know that once a YouTube channel has its day, it's all downhill from there and the channel never will recover. You get one shot to grow a channel, once the growth ends and your fanbase starts to evaporate, you can only delay the inevitable. This video talks about the rise and decline of my channel. I had temporary setbacks during the uphill part in 2012-2014 and temporary brief periods of recovery in 2017-2020, but trends don't lie. I had tons of fun over the years doing Microwave Me, I don't regret doing this show one bit. Are there some things I would have done different? Sure. But I think my channel's fate was sealed before I even posted my first video. With that said, I've made so many amazing friends over the years, I've also made some memorable enemies (and many not-so memorable trolls). I had fun making destruction videos for all of you, but eventually I became the "sick man of the YouTube destruction community" and no matter how hard I tried to right the ship, it was time for Captain Microwave to retire, and so with that I am officially retired from being your captain. Every Microwave Me Christmas Special Ever MicrowaveMeShow 2020-12-24 | I originally wanted to give you a Christmas special but that's not happening this year, so I decided instead to give you EVERY CHRISTMAS SPECIAL I'VE EVER DONE! This, my final clip show, features every holiday-themed item I'd done a microwaving experiment with. The first one I did that could sort of be Christmas-themed is microwaving chestnuts, but it was more meant as one of my fall experiments. Although the chestnuts blowing up was pretty funny. This microwave clip show starts with the boring hot chocolate episode and then skips to me microwaving Christmas lights (technically not a Christmas special as it was done in February) then it skips to the 2013 season where I did a majority of the Christmas experiments. After that, I'd do maybe two or three new ones every year. The last one I chose was kind of stretching it but I figured it was close enough. I figured since I haven't given you a clip show in ages I'd give you a Christmas clip show. I couldn't give you a season 19 clip show because I'd microwaved so few items, maybe a season 18 and 19 clip show featuring a decent list of microwaving items whereas season 19 had only one cool microwave experiment, that banana with magnesium. If you're unaware, the microwave show has ended. I posted the last episode earlier in this month. Don't bother asking me to come back, I've been warning you for the past few years that if you don't start watching, I'll have to quit, and most of you didn't heed my warning. So here we are. Microwave Me: Hourglass MicrowaveMeShow 2020-12-07 | Experiment #512: Hourglass(Series Finale)Something I've tried to microwave many times before is an hourglass, back in season 5, I bought two hourglasses to microwave, knowing that they can glow brilliantly based on the episode that dOvetastic posted long ago (sadly his channel isn't around anymore). I decided for the season 19 finale, and likely series finale, I'd microwave an hourglass and post it regardless of whatever will happen. I won't give away any spoilers, but I'll say this is a fitting end to this show, which ended the way it started, almost working like a bell curve with 2016 being the show's peak. So it's only fitting that it ends exactly the same way it began. This may be the series finale but it's not the last video that I'm posting on this channel. Not even close. In fact, I've got upcoming later in December a Christmas montage, and next year an explanation for everything that caused me to make my decision, and of course there'll be some anniversary specials. It's not much of a microwave episode though. Nothing happens, the lid breaches, no pop, no sparks, it was pretty boring. Still, I had this candy I got last year that I found a few I didn't eat and so I decided might as well microwave one of them. I'll be likely getting another microwave at some point in the future as I want to end season 19 before the end of the year. I got this idea after getting the old version many times with the obtrusive blue error box. The new one isn't as bad because it goes away after a few seconds. The old one seemed like it was what was interrupting your video because it'd work fine afterwards. So I nicknamed it "the interrupting cow error message" or "the cow" for short. When "experiencing interruptions? Find out why" pops up I call it getting "the cow". Like if a video runs slow I might ask if you got "the cow". And clicking the button leads to something I call a "couch potato graph". I nicknamed it a couch potato graph because it looks like it's measuring two slow runners who run at equal speeds, one sometimes slightly overtaking the other and also sometimes lagging behind the other but ultimately about the same, like if you and your mom were couch potatoes you might label it "me and Mom run at equal speeds" to show what you're measuring. I set it to the N-Spade music from Super Mario Bros 3 because I found that the most fitting for this. I was going to get a brand new microwave, but I haven't done much lately with this channel. I decided to microwave a little bit of this British candy I bought. It's pretty good! New YouTube Comment Censorship? Or Just An Unfortunate Glitch? You Decide. MicrowaveMeShow 2020-03-11 | Over the past few days I've noticed that suddenly some comments have been inaccessible on any and all videos, including my own. Sometimes my own replies on my own channel are inaccessible! Used to be if the algorithm hated your comment it'd just display "hide all [number] comments" instead of "view all [number] comments" but if you click it says view all comments, now if it initially says hide all comments, clicking on it won't do you a lick of good. YouTube has apparently upped their censorship game. A sneaky move that nobody noticed as far as I know since nobody else is talking about this now. I figured I should so that you can be aware of it.These kinds of tactics are nothing new. YouTube likes to use these sorts of insidious tactics to silence random people they don't like with an algorithm. YouTube wants to get rid of the comment section to free up space to make more advertiser money, they've been doing it for years. When things like this are noticed by enough people and enough people are pissed off, they walk it back and claim it's a glitch. A lot of the changes have stuck, like removing comment sections on videos containing minors or anything they decide is a "kids video" (deliberate overzealous compliance of COPPA). I thought microwaving sliced grapes sitting in a thin layer of water could get them to spark and boil the water a bit. The one grape sparked a little bit but the water never boiled. It was another dud experiment. Sorry for the lack of new microwaving videos. I'll try to do better in the future. The problem is lack of time to bother with a new microwave. I've also microwaved just about everything by this point and it's hard to think up material for new episodes. But I'm keeping this channel somewhat alive because I do have a tiny audience remaining. People makes assumptions when there's a big subscribers to viewers discrepancy plus there's impossible expectations. I'm expected to budget my channel for 13,500 subscribers despite the fact that I'm getting so few views I'd be losing thousands of dollars per year. This channel is very expensive to operate and when I was getting thousands of views per video it more than covered the cost. That has changed. To further clarify, Microwave Me is NOT ending, but it's entirely possible that I may not continue past 2020 if things don't change. It's up to YOU if my series continues. Microwaving A Bottle Of Champagne In Slow Motion - Completely DESTROYS Microwave MicrowaveMeShow 2019-12-02 | Slow Motion Episode #10: Champagne BottleI say "don't try this at home" a lot, it goes double, no triple, for this particular experiment. Back in 2013, I microwaved a bottle of champagne and it completely blew apart the microwave. Luckily I was nowhere nearby so I was never in any real danger, but I knew it would be bad news. This was by far the loudest microwave experiment done to that point on the show and it would be one of the best "action" shots of a total annihilation where an explosion ripped apart the whole microwave. Nothing I had ever done had come close to that point. Other "action" shots would end up closing the microwave door, one had actually obliterated my camera and I had to borrow someone else's camera to finish filming an episode. But this explosion was the best I filmed.I have some goodies coming up, including some Christmas specials. I'm currently waiting on a new microwave to do new microwaving stuff but I've got plenty of videos coming up of stuff I'd microwaved that I'm showing in slow motion. A long time ago, back in season 5 of Microwave Me, someone asked me to microwave a stroopwaffel, I thought it'd be lame but actually it wasn't half bad considering what it was. The waffle boiled and it even smoked. I actually stopped it early because of how much it was boiling and smoking. To say it was a nightmare to get off of the plate is an understatement. It's been a very up and down journey. Given my current situation and reduced budget, I had to resort to a birthday cake and candle. YouTubes New Redesign Sucks Ass MicrowaveMeShow 2019-08-27 | So apparently YouTube's been rolling out a version of their homepage where everything is giant thumbnails, not organized, just a cluttered mess. Nothing recommended, no indication of what's from people you're subscribed to, no categories, just gigantic thumbnails. Apparently the idea is to make the desktop version mimic the mobile version. I have no idea why, the mobile version is overly basic with disproportionately large thumbnails because it's limited on what it can show on such a tiny screen, the desktop version is supposed to be better. What looks good on a 5" phone screen looks ridiculous on a 30" monitor. Is anyone else stuck with this dreadful redesign? Apparently GoogleTube is trying to make YouTube the video version of Instagram, not realizing that tons of desktop users use this for so many functions, and many things can only be done efficiently on a PC that can't be done on a phone. YouTube is only shooting themselves in the foot by trying to be a competitor to Instagram instead of staying in their niche. Whatever dumbass thought this was a good idea needs to be fired immediately. Same with the people who approved this.My theory is that Google is trying to kill YouTube and turn it into just a video hosting site like Hulu, look at how they're disabling the comments by force on more and more videos with their "official" reason being transparent lies, and they're making their site more and more unusable by the day. I think Google is still bitter that we didn't like Google+ and that they couldn't get use to use it by force so they're killing their actual social media site, YouTube, so they can bring back Google+ and force us to use it so we can comment again. Notice how they also temporarily killed search filters back in March. I think that was a test run and they plan on doing it more and more until the filters are gone and they can take away the search feature entirely. Like I said, they want it to be just a video hosting site with no social media or friendships formed on here.But some small YouTuber like me speaking out isn't going to make a different. We need big YouTubers to speak up about this.

Playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star With Microwave Plasma MicrowaveMeShow 2019-08-20 | This is a very new and unique concept. Someone suggested that I do something like this awhile back and I figured I'd give it a go. For those of you who don't know, I'm also a musician (if you've seen my clip shows, you've heard my songs before). Also, it's been a tough past few months and I'm having a tough time finding a new used microwave to finish the 19th season of Microwave Me. Hopefully you enjoy this! What I did was used various clips of microwave plasma (which thankfully produced a similar frequency across the board) and sped it up to different pitches to simulate notes on an instrument. In this case, the humming electronic music was the instrument. If you want me to do other songs, let me know. This is an experimental concept and whether or not I continue depends on how this does. If it proves popular, I continue, if not, this is all I do. If you're just here to see me microwaving things, don't worry, I will have new microwaving videos some time soon, ideally within the next few weeks. But this kind of is a microwaving video of a sort.
Microwave Me: Banana With Magnesium In It MicrowaveMeShow 2019-07-06 | Experiment #505: Banana + Magnesium Ribbon(Rated G) You may remember the original banana experiment if you were one of my original subscribers. Other than a few mildly naughty jokes, it's an unremarkable episode. It's one of my original 11 episodes from when I started this on my music channel back in October 2012. Well, my channel's hit some very hard times over the past year (see the video in the end cards explaining more) but now I finally got a new microwave, so I figured why not start off with a cool version of one of my first experiments? It took forever for this to get going and truth be told, I didn't think it would work for awhile. But lo and behold, after about 15-20 minutes of sitting through just a banana cooking and turning into leather, the magnesium finally caught fire. It's been two years since I've had a microwave fire so I let it burn for awhile, but the microwave shut off, unfortunately that could mean the new microwave is fried already. If so, it's going to be a good wait until I can get a new microwave (and I need to know people care, getting less than 200 views on this video isn't going to convince me to spring for a new one) but I hope the microwave still works. I have a couple of really cool things planned. This was quite a microwaving experiment, please DO NOT replicate anything that you see in these videos yourself at home, or anywhere else for that matter. With that said, please share this video to let people know I am back. I've been doing this for years and I want to know that you still care enough to watch. I'm not in this for the views but the fact is that these are expensive to produce so trying to pretend that my channel isn't dead when it is will be a lot costlier than with a ranting or vlog style channel where the cost of video production is free, but the lesson from this experiment might apply to my channel, if I just keep going, persistence will pay off, like it did with this experiment. Hopefully it truly does in the long run.
Microwave Me: Ring Pop & Push Pop MicrowaveMeShow 2019-06-16 | Experiment #504: Ring Pop and Push Pop(Rated G) What? I'm microwaving CANDY?! I know this seems really lame considering my history of microwaving genuinely interesting things, but it's taking longer than I thought to find a used microwave and I don't want to make you wait. I promise that one way or another after this, episode 505 WILL feature a new microwave. Anyways, the actual episode itself was noneventful. I just did the ring pop in the wrapper, which was like microwaving a potato chip bag, then the candy itself melted when microwaved. I could have done this longer, I know but getting melted candy off of a microwave plate is a nightmare. Also feel free to request items for me to microwave. I've done over 500 episodes so finding a new thing to microwave is always a challenge, meaning I have to scrape the bottom of the barrel, and given the fact that I have no viewer base these days, I have no budget to microwave. This isn't just an ego or pride thing, this is an expensive channel to run, and when it was profitable that was fine, but if 99% of you aren't going to watch my videos, I won't have the money to do really cool things. Microwave Me: Kinetic Sand MicrowaveMeShow 2019-06-09 | Experiment #503: Kinetic Sand(Rated G) I told you I'd be back! Since I don't have a new microwave yet, I decided to do something mildly interesting but unique and creative, and that is microwaving magic kinetic sand, also known as hydrophobic sand. The sand is impervious to water yet behaves like wet sand and only sticks to itself. I wondered what it'd look like in a microwave. And to be honest it was pretty uneventful, in fact the most exciting parts of the video are the before and after. But at the same time I had to do the experiment just to show the results. I will have more microwave videos coming in the future, good ones, and done in an outdoor microwave. This was just a little something to tide you over. If you have any ideas for stuff to microwave, let me know (but nothing too expensive or dangerous as I need to keep the new microwave I get alive for at least five episodes). This makes the first episode I've done since March and the first unique item I've done in almost two years. Microwave Me: Grapes Connected By Metal Wire MicrowaveMeShow 2019-03-09 | Experiment #502: Grapes + Metal Wire(Rated G) I've seen so many variations of microwaving a grape to get plasma, but for some reason nobody ever thought to connect the grapes through two ends of a piece of metal wire. The grapes lit up like a Christmas tree and the wire began to spark. This was a bit of a surprise as I thought the wire would light up more but it was the grapes that lit up brightly. It's nice to get some of that old pioneering Microwave Me spirit back as I took the grape plasma trick into uncharted territory. I promise I won't just be doing more grape videos from here on out, but until this summer I am going to have to take it easy with what I spend money on to microwave. What Happened To My Channel? - An Explanation (False Flagging, Censorship, Drama) MicrowaveMeShow 2019-01-19 | 2018 was a rough year for me as a YouTuber and for my longtime viewers. After being on semi-hiatus in late 2017 and planning to come back in 2018, suddenly in late January my channel was targeted by false flagging, first the video of microwaving a Tide power pod, then other, even more innocuous videos including a video of me flushing shampoo down the toilet, microwaving a bar of soap, and many other harmless experiments. Before 2018, I had not one community guidelines strike despite how hard the trolls were false flagging me because they didn't like my videos. So I privated my videos to avoid losing my channel, which I temporarily did in May. However, I grew tired of being accused of deleting all of my videos and my own fans punishing me by spite-disliking my new videos because they weren't listening when I said it was to protect my channel. I decided if my own fans didn't care about me protecting my channel and just wanted microwave videos, I'd just unprivate everything and throw caution to the wind. Well to nobody's surprise my channel went down within 12 hours as the trolls who had been lying in wait for 8 months finally managed to censor me in August with their many bogus accounts.Somehow in late December I got my channel back, but it's a pyrrhic victory at best since my channel's dead. I know I'm going to get demonetized soon for falling below the 4000 watch hours per year, assuming that happens, my channel's budget will be reduced to mere pocket change. My videos are expensive to produce and YouTube doesn't care about the circumstances for why I have such low views. In fact they created the circumstances.And for those who have been following me, you know it's not like I've been flying under the radar all these years and finally got caught once I started getting some traffic. The peak of my popularity was 2015-2016 and I was actually in decline when I got targeted. Now I've gone from getting thousands of views per day to getting 100-200 a day, sometimes more on a good day.However, since March, I've been dealing with a persistent video thief and impostor creating fake Microwave Me accounts. Initially he called them MicrowaveMeShow2, then just MicrowaveMeShow and sometimes misspelled Micowavemeshow. He's also a crazed cyberstalker who's found all my e-mail addresses and social media and e-mails me, sends friend requests, sends me links of the stolen videos just to taunt me. I've tried reporting his channels various ways and YouTube does nothing unless it involves stolen videos, even then it can take up to two weeks to process. I filmed most of an episode but didn't even film the ending since there was nothing to film. The bulbs were BARELY even warm and the magnetron was starting to go, so it was time for a retirement. I decided to make this another "Lost Episode" because it is almost a full episode and it explains what happened to Joyce. I'd originally planned to do the Lysol can as the season finale but this showed why it's not gonna happen.

I think these things are actually little drums and don't actually explode. 15 minutes should have done something, but no.

I figured that since it's a small bottle it'd have a good chance at giving me an awesome show. I couldn't have been more wrong! This fucking sucked! Not only that but the microwave door is too dirty to see anything inside. Even the light bulbs didn't help. If one good thing came out of this piece of shit episode, at least I got the microwave cleaner. I thought it'd blow up since it was so small, but glass containers are a 50/50 chance of an explosion. Earlier I aired failed episodes like the jar of pickles, the super protein shot, the small jar of salmon eggs (fishing bait), but now I don't do that anymore because I just don't see the purpose of it. But I'll still air the more notable fail episodes as a "lost episode". Blending Crayons In A Blender - What Color Will They Make? MicrowaveMeShow 2018-07-28 | Episode 26: Crayons(Rated G) I know it's been ages since I made a blender video, but here is a new one. I took a bunch of crayons and stuffed them in a blender to see how well they'd blend and what color would result. I just got a weird blue-grey-black mess with some specks of green and orange. It looked like I blended a bunch of M&M's candy with a bunch of dirt. It's not my most exciting video, but given the way things have been with YouTube, I'm going to be playing it safe for the foreseeable future but trying to do as cool of stuff as I can with safe experiments. Hopefully you still thought this was fun to watch and felt like sticking around. No new microwave videos for now but you can watch my old microwave episodes, like the microwaving a bunch of crayons video. Was supposed to be a "lost episode" only shared with a select few on February 6, 2015.Lost Episode #10: Glowing Candle Plasma FAIL(Rated G) This was a complete and utter fail, I didn't even have the focus right on the camera, there was no need to even air this. I was hoping to get the candle glowing in the microwave and to have it glowing even brighter from all the plasma, but this was just a fail episode all around. The only reason I'm airing it at all is because my brother got me this for Christmas to microwave with high hopes that it'd be cool. In a bigger microwave it probably would work, but Elsa's only 600 watts so she's going to suck at doing these kinds of things. The only ones who will see this episode are my Facebook friends and the people on YouTube that I specifically choose to see this video. Which is more than I can say for a lot of lost episodes, but let's be honest, this one stunk. No getting around it. This would have been airable during my first couple seasons, but this far into my microwave show, no, just no.Even if it would have succeeded, it would have just been a filler episode since I already did the match plasma trick back in 2012.

I drilled through a microwave. I had Ellen (used in 2014-2015) on hand for this one. The microwave hasn't worked in years but I never got around to throwing it away for some reason. Decided to use for the "Drill This!" series finale. It put up a bit of a fight, the door wasn't as easy to drill through as it may have looked (due to slippery plastic) but I knew that wasn't enough. So I drilled through the top of it. That took some effort. I know it's been a LONG time since my last video of any kind, but a perfect storm of unfortunate events kept me from making new episodes. Read the pinned comment at the top of the video to find out more. While this is it for "Drill This", that doesn't mean this is it for my channel. And you won't have to wait 7 more months.
Microwave Me Turns Five Years Old! MicrowaveMeShow 2017-10-24 | Five Year Anniversary Special: Singing Birthday Candle + Cooking Oil + Alcohol(Rated G) It's not a microwave episode, but I wanted to give you something cool regardless. For the five year anniversary special, I lit a singing birthday candle and doused it in a mixture of alcohol and oil and decided to let it keep burning until there was nothing left of the candle except a bubbling blue liquid of molten plastic. I know it's been ages since I uploaded a video, but I've been really busy lately with a lot of stuff going on, not just life responsibilities but my music as well. The reason I haven't done a new microwave episode in awhile is a combination of the fact that ever since the garage came down, there's no place to conveniently film in the day and at night there's issues with visibility before and after. Also, it's not cheap to keep buying microwaves, even used microwaves, and stuff to microwave. Mainly it's that I've been losing money on the show because views are really down from where they were during 2015-2016 and a lot of my videos have been demonetized. I'm not in this for the money, but it's not worth it to pour a lot of money and time into regularly cranking out episodes when only 3% of my subscribers even watch them (when I get more views, it's usually from non-subscribers who rarely stick around for the next video). I'm not saying Microwave Me is done, not by a long shot, just that I need a break and time to figure out where to take it from here, the combination of very low views and mass-demonetization was what hurt the most. I have to think about my own expenses before I can focus full-time on a hobby like this again., Anyways, I wanted to post this to commemorate my channel being 5 years old and to let you know I haven't forgotten about you. It's so weird to think how I started out doing safe stuff, then quickly more and more unsafe and as it got less and less safe, the experiments got bigger and better. I went from hot pockets and marshmallows to ping pong balls and a lighter, to aerosol cans and beer bottles, to a champagne bottle and fireworks, to lava lamps and gasoline, to microwaving another microwave, to a giant beer bottle, to a traffic signal, and now burning a candle in a pit with a pint of flammable liquid. I wonder what kinds of crazy ideals I'll think up next, but I hope whatever they are, you'll be there to watch them. I make the videos not just for me but for you because I know you love them.
