Let it grow but its a Sparta Auspex V1.5 Remix
updated
So, this time I've been messing around with Unity and shader development, and ended up cooking up this really cool, Flipnote-inspired effect. I've learned a ton doing this, and you can check it all out and download the project here: https://snowy-engine-238.notion.site/100-Days-of-Tech-Art-94e362b1607e45029b795429b6d6c4f6
Here's a little rundown of what I've been up to:
Generating visualizations with Python
Messing around with color spaces and volumetric lookup textures
Playing with depth-normal mapping for edge detection
Adding dynamic noise to give it more of that Flipnote feel
Making sure the colors pop with a saturation shader
This project's been a wild ride into the deep end of shader development. A lot of raw shader code and learning how to set up all this shader architecture. Overall, it was fun seeing all these bits and pieces come together into something that looks pretty darn cool! (As much as seeing solid pink has become traumatic, haha)
I got to test it all out on some awesome low-poly environments I found on the Unity Asset Store (thanks to karboosx, JustCreate, and Polygonal Mind).
Anyway, enough rambling from me. Now, onto the next project... after a quick study abroad to Japan!
Using Blender's Geometry Nodes and Shader editor, I've created a dynamic and customizable tool for Jolyne Joestar's thread ability, complete with text animation support.
If you're curious, you can read about the production and download the project here: https://snowy-engine-238.notion.site/100-Days-of-Tech-Art-94e362b1607e45029b795429b6d6c4f6
Some features include:
Customizable text animation, rotation, and noise parameters
Adjustable texturing, including saturation control and gradient mapping
Procedural UV unwrapping
User-friendly controls for quick adjustments
Learned a ton from this project! Lots of proceduralism and node network stuff. Procedural texturing techniques, procedural UV unwrapping, creating user-friendly controls, etc. Super happy with how it turned out. Went a bit ham making the lyric video, but I'm super proud of how it turned out, haha!
I used a fantastic Jolyne model by DarienToad from Sketchfab as part of the demo. Check out their work here: sketchfab.com/3d-models/jolyne-kujo-55132ba1affd4a91b6c1f1f5003f357e
I was considering adding the second debate and townhalls, but that felt like too much loud interrupting to sift through lmao
I also see Spencer beat me to the punch! You did a good job on your remix!
Bold statements to make, Trainman123 and Lolsus 4u!

I wouldn't consider myself "back", like actively back, but now that school's loosened up I might start posting if I feel like it. Just know I'm not dead!
So to look back on this hellscape of a year, here's a 2020 rewind! (I see Curtis beat me to the punch)

Here's to a good 2019!
Base by Alex
I made this out of samples I recorded in my own school.
Sounds included: Closing a laptop, trash bag, tapping a pen, clicking a lock thing closed, rubbing paper across a desk, paper cutter, locker, evacuation announcement, water cooler, chair squeak, volleyball net pole, school bell, announcement sound, and a marker squeak.
I really liked this project, it challenged me to find neat song sounds in places I wouldn't think to find many :)

Plus finding pitch samples was surprisingly difficult

It was hard trying to find hit sample
All of the sounds were made out of only things you find on/in a water bottle
It was difficult getting sounds that weren't percussion related, but it worked kinda
Tell me how awful it is in the comments

And a collab
with OpticalPlays (Here's his version youtu.be/e-GixGBHjyM)
