Trojan.Win16.Logofup (Win 2.x) ILC 2 2025-01-26 | Logofup is a Windows 2.x Trojan that appears to be the calculator program from the Swedish version of Windows 1/2, but once opened it overwrites and hooks it's self to WIN.COM, which runs when Windows start-up. Open exiting and reopening the Windows session, the Microsoft logo is replaced with profanity directed at the user, as well as a sound byte played from the PC speaker which also insults the user with profanity. The computer then wipes everything off the WINDOWS folder and hangs the machine, forcing a hard reset. Upon resetting, the WINDOWS folder is empty and the user can no longer run Windows or use command "win" to launch Windows, losing any files stored in the WINDOWS folder for good and forcing a reinstall of Windows.
