The Sydney-Melbourne XPT is a regular train service that is served twice a day, with both a day and night service in each direction.
Key facts of this journey: XPT Consists: XP2011 + XP2000 Run Number: ST23 Maximum Speed: 160 km/h (Sydney-Gunning), 90 km/h (Gunning-Albury), 130 km/h (Albury-Melbourne) Scheduled travel time: 10h50m Actual travel time: 13h05m Total distance travelled: 952km Date recorded: 09/12/2023
NOTE: If you noticed that this video exceeded the usual 10 hours and 50 minutes of the journey, you would be correct. There were extensive delays throughout our journey, caused by multiple factors. One factor was the extreme heat that restricted our top speed to 90km/h across large sections of track, especially between Gunning and Albury. Furthermore, extensive signal failures added to the delay, where we had to stop multiple times to wait for the signal to clear. To add insult to injury, there was a points failure at Henty requiring us to reverse onto the platform. This led to a total delay of 2h15m upon our arrival into Melbourne. This comes to show how unreliable the regional train system can get. The delays also cut the recording short to North Melbourne due to lack of space and limited battery on the laptop I was using for transfers.
I do plan to retake the full journey of this service but it could until a remake is uploaded due to a busy summer.

The East Coast Main Line stretches over 393 miles (633 km) from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverley. The line passes through many major towns and cities such as Peterborough, Doncaster, York, Durham and Newcastle and provides magnificent scenery along the route, particularly the Berwick Coast. However, the recording of the video took place on a miserable rainy day so the raindrops ruined the clip later in the journey. Don't ask me to redo the video since I live in Australia and not the UK, which would require me to fly back to the UK to retake this clip, not to mention that the HSTs have retired already. Also please don't request me to extend my filming to Aberdeen for that same reason.

This clip was taken at my grandparents' house approximately 400 metres from the city hall, pretty terrifying for me though.
Anyway, the thrice-daily sirens from the city hall which sound off at 6am, 12noon and 6pm daily has been a tradition in Baguio for a very long time, possibly before World War II.
The sirens sound off to call the city of Baguio for prayer - The Angelus, prayed usually on 6am and 6pm but for some hardcore Catholics pray this at 12noon also.
It is a tradition that has existed in Baguio for several decades even before my parents were born. Some may object to the sirens especially tourists, assuming that there's a nuclear meltdown everyday but the sirens assist those who show their dedication for God, espeically in the Philippines which is a predominantly Catholic country, to prayer.
