Not quite gone || Benedict and Sophie AnneLabyrinth 2024-05-06 | “I use to love this song but now it just feels wrong”***I have been meaning to do a video of Benedict and Sophie with this cast for a long time. I had this fancast since I first watched season 1 of Sanditon with Theo James and I had finished reading Benedict Bridgerton’s book but the inspiration came and went so many times. Now do I recommend the book especially if you are Benedict girlie like me? No. No I do not. He is a massive twat in the book with doses of blackmail and just male entitlement that show Benedict reigns supreme and that is my Benedict. The book had its good and sweet moments but overall it definitely shows the time it was written because yikes. It’s something. Still, as much as it has very bad and oh so cringe moments, I enjoyed it to an extent that I still wanted to make a video at least acknowledging bits from the book but also just taking huge chunks of Netflix Benedict’s personality and making it better. Basically Benedict’s story has that Cinderella element just add in a mask so that way our male lead doesn't recoginise our female lead, some other fucked up elements and you have a Bridgerton story…woo.Also yes the scene of him coming out of the pond very much happened in the book. It took me by surprise too and would you believe as well this man had been very ill a few days prior to this spontaneous dip and still was a little ill? People You Know - Lorenzo & Clarice AnneLabyrinth 2023-01-29 | “Because I could almost forgive that but we both know that’s not why you did it.”***Finally an excuse to edit with probably my favorite historical couple, Lorenzo De Medici & Clarice Orsini. We all know why I've got Medici in the first place but I decided to give the show an actual watch and now it is one of my favorite shows. The storytelling, the actors, the music, the costumes. All of it is just stunning. Easily one of my favorite historical tv shows now. Anyways when I first saw this mep that Thexangeldits was hosting, I knew right away I had to grab the two as they easily fit the song especially in S3 where Lorenzo does so much for the sake of making sure his family is secure once he is gone and they weren’t always the best decisions. I honestly wish I could use the entire line of what Clarice says to Lorenzo but for a bit of context, Lorenzo had offered his young daughter, Maddalena to Franceschetto Cybo, Pope Innocent VIII’s then illegitimate son who then got legitimated (idk the full history on that so don’t ask) at 14 but in the show she is portrayed at like 8-10 so you can imagine that being the final breaking point for Clarice. It’s a beautiful show and if you need a new historical drama then I highly recommend Medici!
