This video was originally made as a bonus shown at the end of the 8-Bit Show and Tell episode "More 6510 Programming With Turbo Macro Pro": youtu.be/05vlobA3JeU
Lyrics: On the C-64, location 53280 controls The colour of the border While 53281 controls The colour of the screen
POKE a zero in, and the screen turns black POKE a one in, and it turns white So easy and quick to make that change
If you rapidly change the colour The screen will flash but not in a uniform way It depends on the raster scan The screen is redrawn sixty times a second From top to bottom, from left to right So the colour change will appear across the screen as a horizontal slice
The colours cycle round: Black, white, red, cyan Round and round: Purple, blue, yellow, green Flashing, scrolling down: Orange, pink, dark grey, brown An ever-turning view: medium grey, light grey, light green & blue64738 - Lyric VideoBedford Level Experiment2018-08-31 | What if Leonard Cohen and Neil Young teamed up to write a song about regrets and second chances, using the Commodore 64 as their muse? We almost lost him late last year, and I wrote this song as a result. Lyrics: In 1982 I thought Tron was the best movie Though I had never seen it, I wanted to go But instead my parents took me to see E.T. Which I really didn’t care about before
But once I saw it, I was captivated I’d get on my BMX and pedal around Imagining I was on the run from the FBI Racing my alien buddy home

Lyrics: Spiky red hair, you never speak We first find you watching TV Watching replays of your father’s Victories in the World Grand Prix
Dad's been missing for many years Though rumours abound in your town That he's been leading a gang Of car-battling bandits around
It's your 16th birthday and Your mother Wanna has a surprise In the garage your own battle car It's time to get streetwise
Go go go Car Battler Joe
You start the car up, the engines roar You're a novice, but don't feel inadequate A robot named Pal helps pilot and Is a voice for our mute protagonist
Your first training battle, no weapons A demolition derby against your friends You emerge victorious; against your Driving prowess, they can't defend
Go go go Car Battler Joe
Now you're stocked up with your weapons Fully loaded and mounted to your car Out into the wasteland you venture Seeking your father and your own rising star

Lyrics: She’s walking very slowly Being careful she doesn’t slip She must be new around here On this shiny ship
The stewardess struggles to walk With her velcro-bottomed shoes Bringing dinner to me While we fly to the moon
We’re living here in the future, two-thousand-one
I’m the only passenger While the men pilot the craft The woman catches my wayward pen As I take a space nap
Not in much of a hurry We’ve got all day and night Heading to the moon base A two-hundred-forty-thousand mile space flight
I heard there’s something on the moon That’s been buried for a long time We dug it up, a black monolith With dimensions one, four, nine...Intellivision Cartridge Stacking - How Many?Bedford Level Experiment2017-01-12 | Inspired by Aaron C's tweet: twitter.com/blahjedi/status/819162058339930112

Lyrics: Jolly old St. Nicholas, Lean your ear this way! Don’t you tell a single soul, What I’m going to say; Christmas Eve is coming soon; Now, you dear old man, Whisper what you’ll bring to me: Tell me if you can.
When the clock is striking twelve, When I'm fast asleep, Down the chimney broad and black, With your pack you'll creep; I do love the computer that I got last year, but Now would like some upgrades please, won't you, Santa dear?
I would like my own disk drive, cassette's too slow to load And a big pack of blank disks, On which to save my code Also get me a disk notcher, to use the back side Yes I know I could use scissors But this is quicker... and looks much more nice

Lyrics: When I was 10, I became obsessed With video games and the like I dreamed of Donkey Kong, Pong and then Space Invaders through the night
At school we had a Commodore PET We wore out the "A" key Acid Rain, Weather and that Dungeon game filled the screen.
Then I bought a Timex Sinclair I began to learn how to hack But I couldn't get it to save or load So I promptly went to bring it back
Then I went to Duluth and was about to buy A VIC-20 when my mom or My dad said the wisest ever thing "Why don't you buy a C-64?"
Oh yeah!

Lyrics: It was December 1982 I hoped that my dream would come true That there would be waiting for me A Commodore computer under the tree
I want a Commodore 64 Christmas
Now LEGO's nice, LEGO's fine, But it won't scratch this 8-bit itch of mine
Now it was December 1983 What would Santa bring for me? Would I finally get my wish? My very own computer, with a SID chip
I want a Commodore 64 Christmas
I wanted, and I got A Commodore 64 Christmas

We've been reading the book _10 PRINT CHR$(205.5+RND(1)); : GOTO 10_ and became very inspired by the section on procedurally generated art. All the footage in this video was generated by Commodore 64 programs written by us, including a 6502 assembly version of 10 PRINT. The lyrics were also generated algorithmically; Sonnet 64 and some commentary on it from Wikipedia were fed into an old Amiga program called NIALL, and the output was edited together into something resembling lyrics. The corruption the sonnet underwent became the theme of the song and video.
