After a lifetime of pouring my blood, sweat, and tears into my vision, I was met with failure, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I found myself face to face with my biggest fears, and it was in that moment I knew there was no way around it. I had to walk through the storm, and feel the pain that has been poisoning my spirit, so that I could release it for good and be free. I was so convinced that I had done the work necessary to have my big breakthrough moment in my career, but in reality this album was the catalyst to the biggest breakthrough my soul has ever experienced. It was the beginning of an intense spiritual healing journey & rebirth, that led to divine union within myself. Which just so happens to be the meaning & purpose behind my album. Funny how that works!God said "You want divine union? You want to be seen? You want to be a leader? Get ready because you are going to lose everything, you will have forces working against you, your life is going to fall apart, all resources are going to dry up, all momentum built is going to be stagnant, your ego is going to be humbled, you are going to slay demons, shatter illusions, and you're going to detach from your old way of being. I am going to make it so misaligned and uncomfortable for you until you realize that you have no choice but to turn to the divine."So that's exactly what I did. I turned to God. I prioritized my spirituality over my career, I focused on what I had in front of me rather than obsessing over what I did not have, and I connected with nature to renew my spirit. I have been having visions of this music video for YEARS, and the call to creation haunted me until I finally took the risk to make it happen on my own. No egos, no outside opinions, no noise, just me, Reid, and God. Even though I was struggling financially after all of the losses my album release brought, I knew that I had to pursue this vision because it was God's vision. All this to say, I am so proud of myself for never giving up. I am living proof that it is possible to alchemize pain into beauty. I invested $100,000 to create my album & Spotify deleted it 😳 KARRA 2025-08-25 | KARRA invested over $100,000 of her own money to create her debut album "Beauty & The Boss". After being released for 1.5 years and accumulating 1.2 million streams, Spotify flagged her album for artificial streams. This resulted in Spotify and Distrokid removing her entire album off of all music streaming platforms, with no warning or chance to dispute the claims. She did not buy "fake streams", or participate in any scams to run up her streaming numbers. She is not alone as thousands of other independent artists are experiencing the same issues with music streaming & distribution services. Karra shares her story as an independent artist to show how much she has invested into her solo music career only for her music to be ripped down in such an unjust manner. This documentary also illustrates all of the blockages she experienced while trying to promote her album on popular social media platforms like Tik-Tok, Instagram, and YouTube. She also breaks down the accounting, and reveals how much the album generated from royalties. Spoiler alert... its not much!
