A MILLION STEPS FOR LOVE Wat als lopen je zielsgelukkig maakt?

My heart literally skips a beat when we arrive at the dam, one of Carole's favourite spots. On the one side the water is surrounded by a raised hill and on the other side it is framed by these beautiful big trees.
A herd of cows just leaves. When they are gone, the only sounds that are left are the sounds of nature. It is quiet but in an interesting way, because nature never really is quiet. The wind rustles, the birds chirp and the crickets sing.
Carole sits down and shares some wonderful insights about the rhythm of life. The rhythms of nature. You can join in on Carole’s sharing at the lakeside in this video.Wa | Street food vibesSandra Korse2021-12-29 | Local street food in Wa, Upper West Region Ghana.

She is on her way to the forest to collect wood. When we pass each other, a big smile appears on her face. And on mine, because OMG what a privilege to be here in Karimenga and experience all this. It simply leaves me in awe.
It shows me that when we feel the call to discover what it is that our soul longs for and we decide to live by it, life shows itself in all its glory. And if you allow yourself to experience that, everything changes. Then helping on the farm suddenly turns from a simple task to an incredibly special experience. Are you joining me?

In Karimenga verblijven we in The Green House.
Expedition in The Rhythms of Africa | Update from Karimenga
Karimenga is a rural community in North-East Ghana that feels like home for Carole. In Karimenga we stay in The Green House. A series of beautiful mud huts built in a circle around the shared family table.
We have our own cabin where it stays reasonably cool. We can cook our own meals and a large bucket of (cold) water is our shower. The water is collected from the pump a few hundred meters away. The place where we also do our laundry. In this video you'll see a sneak peek into (our) lives in Karimenga.
A place where life calms down and where both Carole and myself are completely happy.

That is exactly what Esmeralda Heij did. From 2014 to 2020 she walked all the way from Finisterre to Jerusalem. During that period she covered a distance of 5.000 kilometers. In her own unique way and all in the name of love.
During the last 75 kilometers of her journey, straight through the Westbank of Palestine, she was accompanied by twelve Dutch women and a cinematographer to capture this journey and the women's experiences and love stories on camera.
The documentary takes you on a journey through the beautiful and barren landscape of Palestine and shares with you the message of love.

We follow them from their first class through to their first live performance.
Coming from a totally different background all four women invite us into their lives and share their personal story with us. Stories in which they show their true nakedness. Stories of courage. Of doubt and insecurity. Of embodying the Goddess within.
A film not only about the act of sensual dancing itself, but about the value of a community, about finding the courage to take up space in this world and about finding the strength to fully embrace who they are.
This documentary is a true and honest portrait of four amazing women, who each share their own personal story. Stories that the world needs to hear. Now more than ever.
Filmed in cooperation with Lady Magnolia, head mistress of the Rouge Revue in Cape Town, South Africa.

Thank you for your support.
Verhalen over moed.

I only could not decide on the right place. In December 2018 I spoke to my cousin about it and she suggested Uganda. "Hmmm.... maybe", I said and left it at that. In April 2019, whilst reading Kuki Gallmann's book I dreamed of Africa, things fell into place. It indeed had to be Uganda!
My mum was equally enthusiastic about the idea and so it happened that we embarked on this very special journey in September 2019 to spread my dad's ashes in Uganda. A magical trip that showed me in many ways that this was exactly the right place to say a final farewell to my dad.
