DarkDragonLancerI don't have much to say today, but here's another great remix from Comiket 78. This time it's the ending theme to Imperishable Night, Evening Primrose.
This is from the circle Sound Sepher, one of the first circles I remember listening to when I first started getting into Touhou remixes. This is my probably my favorite remix from this album, but there are definitely a few good ones if you're into trance, and some of the other tracks seem to dabble in other genres as well.
Just a notice, once September comes around, updates will slow down a lot, since school is coming up and the Comiket rush will be pretty much over. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the music.

Title: 月見草
Artist: 江口孝宏 (Takahiro Eguchi)
Album: 東方幻奏祀典4"Excess"Paradise ~ Deep Mountain (Touhou Songs #65)DarkDragonLancer2012-04-20 | Sorry for the lack of updates everyone. Long story short, real life has changed a lot, and so I've barely had the energy to find and upload more Touhou songs that I like. Not to mention, I find on average about two new enjoyable songs a month, compared to when I first started this channel and many songs seemed worth listening. It's just been a lot harder to maintain this channel without throwing just any random songs here and calling it a day.
Not gonna talk a lot more, so I hope you enjoy this remix of Perfect Cherry Blossom's stage 1 theme. Winter is pretty much over here, but it's still a good song to listen to when you need something to get your blood flowing. Blasting this in the car with your windows down is also a good idea (seems to be a trend with my recent uploads). As always, I hope you enjoy the song.
Last thing. I have a place where I upload some songs from my channel, and you can download some of the mp3s there. I don't plan on putting everything there, nor do I plan on fulfilling every request, but there's no harm in posting a comment on the video and asking politely if I could put the mp3 there. Here's the site: http://www.mediafire.com/?fa716r47qf6vu
Title: 幻想スノーフィールド Artist: RD-Sounds Album: 廻Plain Asia (Touhou Songs #64)DarkDragonLancer2012-01-24 | Yay, C81 FELT album is up. Time to act like the Maika fanboy that I am by uploading her latest song.
This is an arrange of Plain Asia, Keine Kamehameha's theme from Touhou 8, Imperishable Night. I wasn't crazy about the original song (personally, I prefer her stage theme) but this song takes some really nice liberties with it. I find this a wonderfully "chill" song to listen to, especially compared to other NAGI/Maika songs. Seriously, driving while blasting this song makes me feel more relaxed than I should, considering all the angry drivers I encounter on a daily basis.
This is my last Comiket 81 upload for the time being, any others in the future probably won't be marked as such, but I have to say that I'm thankful for Comiket for letting me hear songs like this that I never would have heard otherwise. Also, thanks to those that share these songs to people like me in the first place. And thanks, of course, to viewers like you.
(By the way, you might have caught a "typo" above, just know that it was actually a joke)
Title: Runway Drive Artist: NAGI☆ Vocal: Maika Album: Silver Drive Circle: FELTNight Sakura of Dead Spirits (Touhou Songs #63)DarkDragonLancer2012-01-03 | I think Yuyuko is probably the most featured Touhou character in my playlist. And she's not even my favorite character. That needs to change soon...
Here's another Comiket 81 upload for you all. It's a vocal remix of the stage 1 theme of Ten Desires. Not much to say, but I really like the piano in this song, and the vocals are actually really nice, creating a song that I could probably listen to whenever I need to brighten my mood. Hope you guys enjoy listening to it as much as I do. (Also, this song has some of the best arranges I've heard in the past few months, it's actually really refreshing).
Planning on at least uploading two more C81 songs in the near future, so stay tuned, folks.
Title: 桜∞friendship (きりん Shining Summer Remix) Arrange: MiYAMO Vocal: Nana Mitani Album: Dione Aggregation Circle: EastNewSoundThe Eternal Steam Engine (Touhou Songs #62)DarkDragonLancer2012-01-02 | Too tired to make a lengthy description, so I'll just say that this is an arrange of "The Eternal Steam Engine", the credits theme from Touhou 12.3. It's also the first upload I'm posting from Comiket 81 (though I will at post at least 1 or 2 more songs hopefully, possibly even tonight if I can get myself to do it). Doujin artists, please make more beautiful arranges of this song.
Well, sometimes I find some music that's worth sharing more than 95% of the Touhou reimxes that I hear. This is one of them. It's a remix of two songs from Seiken Densetsu 3, the sequel to Secret of Mana that was never released outside of Japan. I played a translated version a long time ago, and it was definitely a lot of fun; I'm still wondering why Square had never brought it here. To be honest, I don't remember the two songs in this remix ("Fable" and "Farewell" apparently), but I still think that the artist, Kurenainagi Tabibito, did a wonderful job with this.
Tabibito also did some of my favorite Touhou remixes, such as his versions of Beloved Tomboyish Daughter (uploaded as Touhou Songs #9), Border of Life (#19), and Old World (#1), as well as a few other songs I haven't uploaded (yet). Unfortunately, I haven't seen any music from him that was posted after 2007, which is a shame because he's is easily one of my favorite doujin artists. I find most of his stuff to be incredibly uplifting, while still being upbeat and generally fun to listen to. Most of his songs also feature piano parts that are really nice to listen to, and I'm a sucker for piano as some of you may have guessed.
Obviously, this isn't part of my Touhou playlist. I'm not sure if I have enough songs (or demand) for a playlist of video game doujin arranges, so just be aware I'll be posting non-Touhou music every now and then. Hope you all enjoy it.
Title: Fable&Farewell Song PopTranceArrange Artist: Kurenainagi Tabibito Album: MaRiNaOnigashima in the Fairyland ~ Missing Power (Touhou Songs #61)DarkDragonLancer2011-11-27 | After the past few uploads, I think it'll be nice to have a slower, more instrumental piece to balance out the fast-paced, upbeat songs that came before it.
This is an arrange of Suika's theme from Touhou 7.5, Immaterial and Missing Power. The original song is fitting for the final battle against Suika, but this takes that and makes a much more emotional piece using the piano and violin. I've actually heard a few versions of this song; there's one without the violin and just piano, and another is the vocal song that this is apparently based off of, but this is my personal favorite of the bunch.
With the holiday season approaching, it's nice to take a deep breath and relax a bit. Especially in places like the US, where people are constantly lost in their work and responsibilities, I think it's important to take a moment and remember what you enjoy about life and what you're thankful for (this totally has nothing to do with Thanksgiving having passed recently).
Regardless, hope you enjoy the music.
Title: 為の萃香八番~孤独 Artist: DMBNCorpse Voyage ~ Be of good cheer! (Touhou Songs #60)DarkDragonLancer2011-10-30 | It snowed today here, enough to bring down some trees, close some roads, and have a state of emergency declared in my area. And it's not even Halloween yet!
I was debating on putting a more "wintry" song for this upload, but I decided against it because if this year is ANYTHING like last year, it'll be like winter for the next six months, meaning there will be lots of time for winter and snow music. So with that said, here's a song that I think is rather fitting for Halloween, and considering I skipped a Halloween upload last year, it's probably long overdue.
This is a remix of Rin's theme from Touhou 11, Subterranean Animism. While not my favorite remix of this theme (that would be song #13 on my playlist, check it out if you haven't already), I do really like the overall mood and beat of this song. Also, I think this is one of the songs where a violin and a techno beat seem to actually work well together, though I imagine that's a matter of personal taste.
Have a happy Halloween everyone, and here's hoping any Halloween plans you have don't get ruined because of premature snow.
Title: 黒猫鎮魂歌 Artist: ひとおおかみ Album: TOUHOU YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - WHAT'S A HOUTOU? DELICIOUS? -Love Colored Master Spark (Touhou Songs #59)DarkDragonLancer2011-10-17 | I had probably one of my most successful days as a Touhou fan yesterday. I went to the New York Comic Con and was able to snag some very nice Touhou merchandise, including a classy shirt, a beautiful art print, and 2 commisioned drawings, a small one of Marisa and a larger one of Sakuya. This is probably one of the first, and possibly the only time I will be able to see such goodness right in front of me, so I definitely had no choice but to buy stuff, haha. Oh, and the shirt is not only not obnxiously moe like most other Touhou stuff I see, but it also features Marisa, my favorite character. Too good.
Anyway, this is xi-on's rocking version of two Imperishable Night songs: Reimu Hakurei's "Maiden's Cappricio ~ Dream Battle" and Marisa Kirisame's "Love-Colored Master Spark". Both Reimu and Marisa are possibile bosses for Stage 4 in Imperishable Night; who you face depends on which pair of characters you chose (Reimu is obviously not going to fight herself). And though both songs are represented here, I always recognize this version of this song more for Marisa's theme, hence why I put that as the video title, and not because of any bias I may have for Marisa. *cough*
This is one of my favorite xi-on remixes, and it has been a while since I've uploaded anything from one of my favorite doujin groups (or anything in general, actually), so here you go. I know there are a lot of fans of rock that follow this channel, so I hope you all enjoy the upload.
Did I mention Marisa is awesome?
Title: Dream Battle!! Artist: xi-on Album: 東方志奏 2nd Spell -Fullmoon-Captain Murasa (Touhou Songs #58)DarkDragonLancer2011-08-28 | Let's go on a journey. We'll sail together on the seven seas, seeing all that this vast world has to offer us. Oh, one can only imagine the wonders on the other side of the endless seas...
Well, that's the kinda image I get when listening to this folk arrange of Murasa's theme. Minamitsu Murasa is the stage 4 boss of Touhou 12, Undefined Fantastic Object. She's a spirit and the captain of the Palanquin Ship. She has a strong relationship with Byakuren, who had been sealed away. Her appearance definitely gives off a seafaring vibe, as she wears a dress that looks like a captain's outfit and wields a large anchor.
I've had more interest in sailing lately, mainly because of a recent vacation to a historic American harbor town and also because of some chats I had with someone who just got his sailing license. I could definitely imagine myself sailing off somewhere listening to music like this... just not now, since Hurricane Irene just passed through my area.
The ocean isn't going anywhere... it will welcome us when we decide to make our journey.
Title: 船長命令 Artist: PIROPARU Album: Send_offLunate Elf (Touhou Songs #57)DarkDragonLancer2011-08-20 | Re-uploaded to fix the image and to make it better quality.
This is the song I was looking forward to the most out of everything this Comiket.
This is a remix of Lunate Elf, the stage 2 theme from Touhou 6, Embodiment of Scarlet Devil... but to be honest, I don't hear any of the original song. However, that doesn't change the fact that Maika and NAGI are still a wonderful pair, and this song is another example of that, IMO.
Instead of gushing about how much I love Maika's songs (and as most people know, I'm not a big fan of vocals in general), I'll just say that FELT has done another good job with their c80 album, Blue Drop. This is their 4th album, and I hope they continue to make music in the future, as I really do look forward to their new songs whenever they appear at an event.
I'm sure a lot of you don't like vocals, and that's okay, I can totally understand that (really, you have no idea). For those that do, or for those that may be a little more open to them at least, I hope you enjoy the song.

Title: Feel the Flow
Artist: NAGI☆
Vocals: Maika
Circle: FELTNight Sakura of Dead Spirits (Touhou Songs #56)DarkDragonLancer2011-08-15 | The thirteenth Touhou game has been released, and to celebrate, here is my favorite Touhou 13 arrange thus far. This was actually created back when the demo for Ten Desires was out, as this is the theme of the first stage which was playable in the demo. I found this remix originally on mimikku's channel before it was removed from Youtube (which is a huge shame, by the way), and thankfully I was able to download it before his account was taken offline, because it truly is a special remix.
This quickly became one of my favorite Touhou remixes for a few reasons. I love how upbeat it is, first of all. It has a great beat and I love how the instruments make it sound surreal without losing the essence of the original song. It sounds so... bubbly, for lack of a better word, but never falls into the trap of being too obnoxiously happy, or at least for a song that seems better at instilling wonder as opposed to pure emotion.
Honestly, thinking about my poorly worded description of why I love this song so much, I realize I should probably let the song explain itself. So please, enjoy the music, and stay tuned in the near future for uploads from Comiket 80.

Title: 霊桜-Reiou-
Artist: maritumixDeaf to all but the Song (Touhou Songs #55)DarkDragonLancer2011-07-06 | I know, another Mystia remix so soon. On the other hand, I really enjoy this one, and it's also different enough from Crystal Flow that it deserves a spot on my list.
This is a rock remix of Deaf to all but the Song by C-CLAYS. I really enjoy the instruments here, especially the electric guitar, and it really gives a more uplifting mood than most rock Touhou arranges I see. This song has a lot of good arranges, and I can think of at least two others that I would upload at a later date, but I don't want to oversaturate my playlist with our favorite night sparrow just yet.
Credit goes to GoldenArcher96 for requesting the song (and also creating the video). If you have a Touhou song you'd like to see uploaded here, then feel free to let me know; I may put up my favorite remix of that particular song.
Title: Lights Artist: C-CLAYS Album: GROUND ZERO ~TOHO ROCK!! 2007A Huge Shadow and a Tiny Conclusion (Touhou Songs #54)DarkDragonLancer2011-06-03 | This is a piano arrange of one of tracks from the OST to Touhou Hisoutensoku. It's technically not in the game itself, but it is an arrange of two of the songs in the game: Did You See That Shadow? (the title screen theme) and The Eternal Steam Engine (the ending credits theme). Both are among my favorite songs in the game, and The Eternal Steam Engine is one of my favorite themes in Touhou, one that has a very disappointing lack of arranges.
I picked this song especially because the original songs, in my opinion, conveyed a message of wonder. The first of the song, based on the title screen, makes one think about where things are going, what new characters he or she will run into, and overall, a sense of new things coming. The second half, based on the emotional ending song, is a lot more melancholy, like the end of something wonderful but the beginning of a potentially better experience.
This is exactly how I feel right now. As a college graduate about to start working full-time, I can't help but reminisce about the good times I had the past few years. At the same time, I'm looking forward to starting my new job, earning money, and I'm hoping that things will falling into place from here.
It's a weird feeling to mix nostalgia with hope, but that's really the best way to describe what I get from this song. And as it's nicely played on piano, I find that this song is easily one of my top songs to relax to. Hopefully, you will enjoy this arrange as much as I do.
Title: A Huge Shadow and a Tiny Conclusion Artist: akikiki Album: MY FAIR LITTLE RED Circle: Assault DoorDeaf to all but the Song (Touhou Songs #53)DarkDragonLancer2011-05-12 | This is an obnoxiously happy version of the stage 2 boss theme of Touhou 8, Imperishable Night. The character featured is Mystia Lorelei, the Night Sparrow who seems to cause blindness in people around her.
I remember hearing this song and it was not only the happiest version of Mystia's theme that I've ever heard, but it's easily one of the happiest Touhou remixes I've ever heard. There's almost an innocence to it, which seems kind of fitting given how Mystia seems to be one of the more childish characters in Gensokyo. But overall, the song is still something that I would like to listen to when spirits are high; it's just a really happy song.
Special thanks to GoldenArcher96 for creating the video.
Title: Crystal Flow
Artist: Tsukasa
Album: Blue ConstellationsBorder of Life (Touhou Songs #52)DarkDragonLancer2011-03-28 | (Note: I made this video using iMovie, and since I have no idea what I'm doing with it, I didn't know how to make a fade-in. Other than that, please let me know if there's something wrong with the quality of this video)
Yes, it's another Perfect Cherry Blossom upload, but it's easily my favorite song from Reitaisai 8 so far (and probably will be by the time I hear everything I'm interested in).
This is a vocal arrange of Border of Life, sung by my personal favorite Touhou vocalist, Maika, and arranged by NAGI☆. I don't like most vocal Touhou arranges, but somehow, this duo has made songs that I absolutely love. Actually, once I heard the crossfade for this album, this was my most anticipated song of Reitaisai 8, and it did not disappoint me at all.
I guess it also helps that this song is something I would listen to when I'm feeling down. I think this is one of the more cheerful songs that Maika sung (though a translation of the lyrics might suggest the opposite...) and NAGI's instrumentals complement the mood perfectly.
I hope you enjoy the song (and if you don't like vocals, don't worry, more instrumentals are coming up soon).
Title: Flower Flag
Album: Flower Flag
Circle: FELT
Arrange: NAGI☆
Vocals: 舞花Doll Judgment ~ The Girl who Played with Peoples Shapes (Touhou Songs #51)DarkDragonLancer2011-02-22 | This is Ezel Ash's remix for Alice's theme from Touhou 7, Perfect Cherry Blossom. It's a very popular theme since it's the song that a certain popular IOSYS remix is based off of (just letting you know now, you will most likely not see any IOSYS songs on my channel, they're not really my cup of tea).
Personally, this is one of my favorite arranges of this song, and like many of Ezel-Ash's other songs, is perfect to listen to on those not-so-perfect days. I'm sure we all have those days where we really just want to yell out, punch something, or just drown yourself in music, and I'm sure lots of people tend to turn to rock and metal for times like those. Personally, I have other songs that I go to for days like those, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying Ezel-Ash every now and then. Why else would I upload a lot of their songs on my channel?
No matter how your day is going for you, I hope you enjoy the music.
Title: Doll Judgment ~ The Girl who Played with People's Shapes
Artist: Ezel-AshEmotional Skyscraper ~ Cosmic Mind (Touhou Songs #50)DarkDragonLancer2011-01-17 | Wow, it's a bit hard to believe that I've uploaded 50 songs for this playlist already. I don't know how long I'll keep uploading videos, but I'm happy that people are still enjoying what I upload. Heck, my most popular upload (#6 Luna Dial) is already at 12,000+ views... certainly didn't expect that when I started this whole thing.
I'm walking into my last semester of college, and as I don't have a clue about what awaits me this semester or after graduation, I feel like I need these little morale boosts even more. Luckily, xi-on's fast remixes are just the thing I need to get pumped. This one in particular, the theme of Byakuren in Touhou 12, is something that took me a while to really enjoy. But now, it's become one of my favorite Touhou rock arranges. This song has it's fair share of good arranges (I just uploaded another one back in October) but this one is definitely worthy of being one of my landmark uploads.
Thanks for watching.

Title: Emotional Mind ~ Cosmic Mind

Album: 東方志奏 4th Spell -Gust of Wind-Gensokyo Millennium ~ History of the Moon (Touhou Songs #49)DarkDragonLancer2011-01-10 | Another Comiket 79 upload here. This is a remix of Eirin Yagokoro's theme from Imperishable Night. She is one of two possible final bosses in the game. She is well known for her intellect as well as her knowledge of medicines.
There's something about this arrange that seems to grab my attention. Maybe it's that bass intro, or maybe it's how upbeat the middle of the track is, but it's definitely a nice change from not only my usual uploads, but most of the other Touhou remixes I listen to. If I knew how to describe music better, I would probably do a better job conveying what I think about this song, but this will have to do. Hope you enjoy it!
Credit goes to GoldenArcher96 for the video.
Title: Out of the Moon Artist: ziki_7 Album: Tone BoxYear-Round Absorbed Curiosity (Touhou Songs #48)DarkDragonLancer2010-12-31 | With regard to the lack of updates, it's a combination of technical issues, real life, and lack of motivation. Long story short, my computer got busted, restarted with Linux, and I have had trouble using the video editor that came with the system. I have found a temporary way around it, for now, and starting with this video my uploads for the time being will be created by GoldenArcher96.
Anyway, this is my first upload from Comiket 79, and it's an arrange of Year-Round Absorbed Curiosity, from Fairy Wars, or Touhou 12.8. It's the stage 2 theme of the Cirno-centered game, hence everyone's favorite ice fairy is featured in the image. This is from Sound Sepher's Touhou album, 東方幻奏祀典5 "Fable", and it's personally my favorite song from that album.
On a more personal note, I hope everyone has a good New Year this evening. I have no idea what's waiting for me in 2011 (can't believe 2010 is already over), but here's hoping there will be good things out there.
Have a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year, everyone.
Title: 年中夢中の好奇心

Album: 東方幻奏祀典5"Fable"Fall of Fall ~ Autumnal Waterfall (Touhou Songs #47)DarkDragonLancer2010-11-13 | I really don't feel like commenting right now, so I'll keep it short and sweet.
This is a piano arrange of Fall of Fall ~ Autumnal Waterfall, Momiji's theme from Touhou 10, Mountain of Faith. Well, technically it's the stage 4 theme, but she's the midboss so I pretty much consider it her theme. This arrange is something I listen to when I just need to relax and calm down. When things get rough, sometimes the best thing to do is to just play this song, relax, and sip some hot cocoa.
Enjoy.
Title: フォールオブフォール Artist: TAM Album: ピアノのための東方夜・Swift Battle / Skygazer (Touhou Songs #46)DarkDragonLancer2010-10-17 | This is a really nice folk arrange of two of the pre-battle themes in Touhou 7.5, Immaterial and Missing Power. Personally, I think a good amount of the non-danmaku Touhou themes are fairly underrated, and since they're relatively obscure compared to games like EoSD and PCB, remixes of the songs are fairly hard to find.
On the other hand, that's one thing I like about finding arranges from the fighting games; the arranges are less likely to make me say "Oh, I've heard that a lot already" like if I hear yet another Septette for the Dead Princess remix. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind listening to good remixes of the popular songs, but it's nice to let some of the lesser-known music get some love as well.
In any case, folk remixes are something I've enjoyed but haven't uploaded often, and I will try to upload more outside of the trance/orchestral I've been uploading recently. Hope you enjoy the song.
Title: 急がばマイホーム
Artist: まさみティー
Album: 気象無原則Emotional Skyscraper ~ Cosmic Mind (Touhou Songs #45)DarkDragonLancer2010-10-01 | Sorry about the lack of updates, guys. Been very busy lately with college and other real life stuff.
This is the stage 6 boss theme in Touhou 12, Undefined Fantastic Object. The character is Byakuren Hijiri, and this is an arrange of her boss theme. This, along with another songs I uploaded previously (number 22, I believe) are great orchestral arranges of some of the final themes in UFO. One thing I like about this particular piece is that it conveys both a tense, urgent battle, and the hope of overcoming adversity and achieving victory. That last part is something I have definitely felt recently, and I was planning on uploading this song sooner, but it had to wait.
Title: 環状七号線 ~Cosmic Line Artist: パポス Album: Lotus ~ロータス~Septette for the Dead Princess (Touhou Songs #44)DarkDragonLancer2010-08-25 | This remix is probably one of my favorite Touhou arranges so far. It's a very relaxing, and yet upbeat version of Remilia's theme, Septette for the the Dead Princess. You can hear the main part of the song at the very beginning, then at around 30 seconds in, it turns upbeat and happy, which I think is uncommon for arranges of this song. Of course, I feel that it's a welcome change of pace.
I said it before, I'm a sucker for piano in fast and upbeat tracks. The artist takes a few liberties with the melody that kinda took me by surprise, but it's such a refreshing song to listen to. Seriously, every time I listen to this song I feel like going outside. It's probably because of the birds chirping close to the end of the song. That and the sound of (I think) the sea makes a really nice touch.
I figure that the end of summer is approaching, I would like to say that don't be afraid to go outside and smell the roses. That means you, GoldenArcher96. And happy birthday, by the way.
Title: 起き抜け少女の為のセプテット Artist: AN Album: 東方恋舞想 - Dance Music ArrangeRetrospective Kyoto (Touhou Songs #42)DarkDragonLancer2010-08-17 | Another C78 release, this time it's from Tutti Sound. I've never heard of this group before, but I was impressed with this album of orchestral arranges. This song is an arrange of Retrospective Kyoto, the 4th photo theme in Touhou 9.5, Shoot the Bullet. This game, unlike most of the others in the series, stars Aya Shameimaru and involves her taking pictures of different bosses' spellcards while avoiding them in typical danmaku fashion as well.
I personally never played Shoot the Bullet, nor did I ever really listen to the music, but after hearing this song I will probably give it another chance. Well, at least I'll listen to the music. I haven't seen anyone upload this song yet, but this is probably my favorite part of the album, so I figured I should give it some love here.
Title: Re.Trauma Artist: Tutti Sound Album: 東方交響音楽選 ~ 雅Dim. Dream (Touhou Songs #41)DarkDragonLancer2010-08-14 | Let me get this out of the way first: when it comes to Touhou remixes and arranges, I don't usually like vocals. There are a handful of exceptions though, and this song is one of them. I've noticed that the few vocals I've truly enjoyed are trance and/or techno, usually one that makes me feel like I'm in a dream... which makes the title of this song rather fitting.
This is Marisa's theme from Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream, the 3rd Touhou game. It's one of the PC98 songs that seems to be overshadowed by the music from the Windows games, but there are definitely gems worth looking into, even moreso with the remixes being released.
This is from Comiket 78, and I'll most likely be uploading more songs from the event in the near future.
Title: Dim. Dream

Album: Where is LoveNanoha As Battle CompilationDarkDragonLancer2010-08-10 | This upload is not a Touhou arrange; don't worry, I'll start uploading those again soon enough. This is a little video I made a few months ago, when I was trying to figure out how to do some basic video editing. I decided to make an AMV (anime music video) of sorts, putting a bunch of battle scenes from Nanoha A's, one of my favorite anime series, to awesome music. And what better song to use than one of the remixes I posted here on my channel?
If you're interested, Nanoha A's is the third of three TV anime series about a young girl named Nanoha Takamachi. In the first series, she gains magical powers and hunts down the jewel seeds in a race against Fate, the blonde girl in black clothes in the video. In A's, Nanoha and Fate work together in order to stop a mysterious group called the "Wolkenritter" that appeared in Nanoha's hometown and stop them from filling the Book of Darkness. Both series are great (though I haven't watched the third series, StrikerS), though I especially like A's because of all the exciting action scenes; at least half of the footage from here happens in the FIRST TWO EPISODES. Needless to say, I enjoyed the series and I wish it got more exposure here in the US.
Credit goes to GoldenArcher96, who helped me with editing this video, taught me how to do video editing in general, and bugged me to no end about uploading this.
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Nanoha A's or any related characters, series, etc., this is just a fan project made out of enjoyment for the show.

Album: 東方ミッドナイト MAXIMUM TUNE ⅤThe Fantastic Legend of Tohno (Touhou Songs #40)DarkDragonLancer2010-07-29 | My friend showed me this song a while ago, probably before I even knew what Touhou was. This arrange is from an album of all piano songs, many of which are worth a listen to. From Perfect Cherry Blossom, you can hear both the stage 2 theme (The Fantastic Legend of Tohno) and Chen's theme as the stage 2 boss (Diao Ye Zong- Whithered Leaf).
I probably said this on my last solo piano upload (which was a long time ago, I believe) but piano music is just perfect for when you need to calm down and relax. I use this album when I'm stressed out or sometimes when I'm studying for an exam and I need something non-intrusive to listen to.
And there's one neat thing about this arrange that most people might not realize. At the end of the song, about 5:35, you can hear something that doesn't come from Touhou at all. Rather, from what I can recognize, those are parts from the opening and closing songs of the anime Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. Why do I recognize that? Well, its sequel, Nanoha A's, is one of my favorite animesequel , and I watched the original series before that. A's especially is a pretty fun show, and fairly short at about 13 episodes, so let this video description double as a recommendation to watch it.
And all this Nanoha talk reminds me of a video I may or may not upload...

Album: ReverieBroken Moon (Touhou Songs #39)DarkDragonLancer2010-07-05 | It's been too long since I uploaded a techno remix.
This is a remix of a pre-battle theme from the first Touhou fighting game, Immaterial and Missing Power. It's heard when you're about to fight Suika Ibuki, the final boss of the game. She's basically a powerful oni who likes to drink lots of sake, and she appears in later games including the other fighting games (Scarlet Weather Rhapsody and Hisoutensoku) and Subterranean Animism.
For those of you in the US, consider this a late greetings for Independence Day. A remix like this is definitely something I would put on at a party with something worth celebrating. I just love the whole feel of this arrange, and trance really goes well with the original song, in my opinion. But though it may be too late to say "Happy 4th of July!", it's not too late for me to say "Please enjoy the song!"
Here's a remix of the stage 6 boss from Subterranean Animism, Utsuho Reiuji. Like Rin, she's one of Satori's pets, and her job is to regulate the flames in the Hell of Blazing Fires. She wanted to use the power of nuclear fusion in order to take over Gensokyo, but the heroines were able to go into Hell and stop her.
Still haven't played Subterranean Animism yet, so my main experience with Utsuho, or Okuu, is through Hisoutensoku, and her extreme firepower is quite powerful there as well. But in general, she's quite dangerous, though not necessarily the smartest of the bunch, given her comparison to a certain ice fairy. I think this remix does a good job of showing the danger involved when encountering Utsuho and keeps the spirit of the original song intact.
Title: 霊知の太陽信仰 ~ Nuclear Fusion Artist: nazz-can Album: DARKNESSBhava-agra As Seen Through a Childs Mind (Touhou Songs #37)DarkDragonLancer2010-06-07 | Sorry about the lack of updates. Been really busy with summer classes, moving into a new place, and lack of regular internet. To make up for it, here's one of my recent favorites.
This is an arrange of Tenshi's last spell theme from Touhou 10.5, Scarlet Weather Rhapsody. It's one of the most uplifting remixes I've heard in a while, and I love how the use of electric guitars to make something intense yet inspirational. I would definitely like to hear more stuff like this, so if you know of any songs you would recommend, let me know, cause I'd enjoy hearing more remixes in this genre (mellow rock, is it?)
Title: 幼心地の有頂天

Album: CielReach for the Moon, Immortal Smoke (Touhou Songs #36)DarkDragonLancer2010-05-16 | I'm not the biggest fan of Mokou's theme, but I remember first hearing this arrange of it and being amazed by how intense it can sound. The original song from Imperishable Night is very mellow compared to this remix, and not what I would expect from an extra stage boss who is immortal and controls fire.
I love the instruments used in this though, especially how the piano is used to really generate tension during the middle parts, as well as the flute that works surprisingly well. At first I disliked the trumpets (I think that's what they are. They seem like "real" versions of the ZUNtrumpets in the actual games) but I've warmed up to them, and now I'd say this is easily my favorite arrange of Mokou's theme. Hopefully you all enjoy this as well.
Title: Immortal Terror -再生- Artist: Yuu Album: オオイナルThe Capital City of Flowers in the Sky (Touhou Songs #35)DarkDragonLancer2010-05-01 | Let me begin by saying that if you like orchestral Touhou arranges at all, you would probably be interested in this album. This is Kitsune's Workshop, also known as Fox Factory, with their Perfect Cherry Blossom album for Reitaisai 7, and this song is an arrange of the stage 4 theme. I might've mentioned once that The Capital City of Flowers in the Sky is an example of a song that I really like ingame, but I find very few remixes/arranges that I truly enjoy. This arrange, of course, is an exception.
I remember, the first work I've heard of Kitsune's Workshop was through a Septette remix from one of their previous albums. I didn't even know at the time that the circle was well known, that was just my first foray into orchestrated Touhou arranges. It's been a while since then, and I'm glad that this new album of theirs really doesn't disappoint.
Title: 悠久花都 Artist: 狐の工作室 Album: 東方幻想界 -妖々夢の音-A Tiny, Tiny, Clever Commander (Touhou Songs #34)DarkDragonLancer2010-04-17 | More songs need to have a hybrid of genres. Seriously. That's one of the things I enjoyed about this arrange of Undefined Fantastic Object's stage 1 boss theme, A Tiny, Tiny, Clever Commander. It starts with a powerful orchestral intro but I think the background rock elements fit in nicely, mainly the electric guitar that comes in later in the song. Also, I'm not a big fan of the original song, but this and a few other remixes stick out in mind because they keep the spirit of the original while making it more enjoyable, at least for me.
I still haven't gotten around to playing UFO yet, the end of the school year is approaching and I've been really busy with essays and assignments. Finals are coming soon, so once that starts, I might not upload anything for a while, and that's why my uploads have slowed down in general. The character in the picture is Nazrin, the stage 1 boss of UFO; while I wasn't a big fan of Nazrin to begin with, she seems more interesting now that I realized she isn't a "random encounter" like many of the stage 1 bosses seem to be.
Title: 平穏を喰らうもの Artist: ひこすけ Album: トモにLocked Girl ~ The Girls Secret Room (Touhou Songs #33)DarkDragonLancer2010-04-04 | Patchouli has certainly been appearing a lot on my channel lately.
This is a remix of Locked Girl ~ The Girl's Secret Room, Patchouli's boss theme on stage 4 of Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. This is actually the instrumental version of the song, while the original had Japanese vocals. I'll admit that I'm not the biggest fan of Touhou vocal songs, so it's unlikely that I'll put many of them up on my channel, but there are a few I've enjoyed.
What I love about this song is that it's easily the most fun I've had listening to a remix of Locked Girl in a long time. It sounds like eurobeat along with that awesome electric guitar, especially at the part a little over two minutes in. In an older version of this song, COOL&CREATE didn't have the electric guitar parts included, but I feel that they really complement the bouncy techno here. To put it simply, this remix is a whole lot of fun to listen to, and sometimes that's all I really want in music.
Title: drizzly rain (no vocal version) Artist: COOL&CREATE Album: drizzly againBorder of Life (Touhou Songs #32)DarkDragonLancer2010-03-21 | Quick update, but I figured that since a lot of stuff from Reitaisai 7 becoming available now, I should share the love. This is from xi-on's new album 東方志奏 5th Spell -Changing Times- and it contains songs from Touhou 7, Perfect Cherry Blossom, and this is a rock arrange of Border of Life.
For those who don't know what Reitaisai is, it's basically a big Touhou convention that takes place every year in Japan. This is a big chance for lots of artists to release new fan material, including soundtracks like this one. If I get a chance in the future, I'll make sure to upload some new material from future conventions, whether it's the next Reitaisai, or something like Comiket.

Album: 東方志奏 5th Spell -Changing Times-The Road of the Apotropaic God ~ Dark Road (Touhou Songs #31)DarkDragonLancer2010-03-19 | Spring is approaching, so I think it's time for some spring sounding music right now.
This is an arrange of the stage 2 theme of Touhou 10, Mountain of Faith. On the picture is Hina Kagiyama, the curse goddess boss of stage 2. Though her stage and theme weren't that memorable in my opinion, I actually rather like Hina, though that's probably helped by the fact that I found a really, really nice wallpaper of her before I even knew what Touhou was. This image isn't the wallpaper, by the way, though I may use it in a future upload.
I believe this is my first upload by koutaq of Sensitive Heart, but I really should start uploading more of their stuff. This remix, for example, if very mellow and really fits a nature theme in my opinion. A lot of their other songs that I heard also sound very natural, and some sound rather like folk remixes, which is always a nice change. And of course, now that spring is coming, that's even more reason to use more of their stuff. koutaq is becoming one of my favorite arrangers, especially with songs like this, and I hope you enjoy this arrange as much as I do.
Title: やくさいながし Artist: koutaq Album: Fallusion -風神小紀行-Flowering Night (Touhou Songs #30)DarkDragonLancer2010-03-13 | I know this is a pretty popular song already, but I can't help but upload it. It's just that fun to listen to.
This is a very fast remix of Sakuya's theme from Touhou 9, Phantasmagoria of Flower View. It's pretty well known already; I think it's mainly popular from a video that was posted on Nico Nico Douga and posted here... maybe. If anyone knows the one I'm referring to, it has Reimu dancing to this song by doing a lot of memes (I think) such as the Caramelldansen. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, then don't worry about that either.
Anyway, one thing I like about this song is how bouncy it is, unlike Sakuya herself. Pretty sure this is one of the earliest Touhou remixes I've heard, and probably my favorite one of this particular theme. It might be already a popular song, but I think it's for a good reason.
Title: Night of Nights Artist: beatMARIO Album: COOL&CREATEHeartfelt Fancy (Touhou Songs #29)DarkDragonLancer2010-03-06 | I'm starting to become more and more of a fan of Subterranean Animism's music. It seems so different from the music to, say, Embodiment of Scarlet Devil or Perfect Cherry Blossom, but I like a lot of the songs. Maybe it's because it's supposed to sound more... Western? At least, that's what ZUN seemed to say in his little blurb about this stage 4 theme from Touhou 11.
I really like orchestral remixes, but I think I enjoy them more when they are powerful, for lack of a better word. This arrange by Scarlatto di Levante is a good example of what I'm talking about. Starts off strong, and then has buildup in the middle of it before going back to the main part of it. I guess you can say that it just strikes my fancy.
Puns aside, I think this is a good arrange that stays close to the original song but is pretty strong in its own right. It's personally one of my favorite from this artist, though that could be because this is honestly my first exposure to Heartfelt Fancy.

Since I'm studying (or rather, I will be once I'm done with this) I figured why not put up another remix of Patchouli's stage theme. Also helps that the remix itself is very nice and rather relaxing. It's hard to describe... it's not like a lot of other remixes I have, but it's a nice change of pace. It's times like this where I wish I knew how to describe music well, because then I would have more to say about this piece.

Album: StreichenLunatic Eyes ~ Invisible Full Moon (Touhou Songs #27)DarkDragonLancer2010-02-15 | Another song that I have a hard time finding good arranges of. Luckily, Ezel Ash is here to save the day.
I always thought Reisen was a cool character. Something about a bunny girl with red eyes wearing a blazer and shooting bullet shaped projectiles just seems to appeal to me. Also, she's fun to play in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody and Hisoutensoku, even if I could never use her effectively. Imperishable Night is also nostalgic for me, so that's another reason why I find Reisen to be likable.
I like this image too. I think it fits my mental image of Reisen, which makes me think of her ready for battle with a gun (or two) in her hands. Also, I think this picture fits the song, which is, like most of Ezel-Ash's rock songs, fairly fast and energetic.
For some reason, I really don't have much else to say right now, but I hope you all enjoy the music.
Title: Lunatic Eyes ~ Invisible Full Moon
Artist: Ezel-Ash
Original English: Lunatic Eyes ~ Invisible Full Moon
Original Japanese: 狂気の瞳 ~ Invisible Full MoonGhostly Band ~ Phantom Ensemble (Touhou Songs #26)DarkDragonLancer2010-02-07 | There's something about stage 4 boss themes being great themes in game, but personally speaking, it's difficult for me to find many good arranges and remixes of them, for me at least. This is a very nice arrange though, with TAM's violin working its magic and electric guitar which works surprisingly well, in my opinion. I'm beginning to appreciate TAM's violin work more and more, and from what I've seen, he is just a really talented musician in general. I'll definitely be uploading more stuff of his in the future.
The character is Lunasa, one of the three Prismriver sisters, along with Lyrica and Merlin. They are poltergeists who can play instruments without actually touching them, and they're the stage 4 boss of Perfect Cherry Blossom. I picked an image of Lunasa for this video mainly because of the violin work here, but I think the three are pretty memorable overall.
I never realized that Shakespeare used green eyes as a metaphor for jealousy and envy. Always wondered where that came from.
This is an arrange of Parsee Mizuhashi's theme from Subterranean Animism, Touhou 11. About a week ago I listened to the in-game theme (never played SA to be honest) and I was hooked. I was surprised with how much emotion was in a stage 2 boss theme, and now it's one of my favorite of ZUN's compositions. Parsee is a bridge princess who has the ability to control jealousy, and she got that ability after enduring years of jealousy over people who travel the bridge she's guarding, which leads to the underground world. It's a pretty sad story, and I'm sure all of us can relate in one way or another. We all get jealous at times, leading to sadness, bitterness, or both... though I doubt any of us got any special powers as a result from it.
This is a very powerful, emotional remix, and I love the choice of instruments used here; they really evoke feelings of jealousy, loneliness, among other things. It's definitely a lot slower than most of my recent arranges, but I don't think that's a bad thing at all, especially for a song like this. Hopefully I can find more arranges of this song in the future; I tend to have a hard time finding arranges I really like for my favorite in-game themes (Fall of Fall and Capital City of Flowers in the Sky come to mind).
Don't cross Marisa Kirisame. If you do, you'll find yourself at the end of a Master Spark, Marisa's trademark attack in which she uses the power of love. Yes, love.
This song is actually from the Seihou series, which ZUN has created music for as well. This theme is for Marisa, who is the extra boss of the first game, Shuusou Gyoku. It's also come back in some of the Touhou games, mainly the fighting games like "Immaterial and Missing Power" and "Touhou Hisoutensoku". I personally like this song over Love Coloured Master Spark, but maybe that's because I don't see as much love for this song. I personally love this arrange because it really gives a sense of danger and intensity while still keeping to the original song. The only complaint I have is that it's a little short, but it's still a great arrange of an under-appreciated song.
That's the impression I get with this rock/techno remix of Reimu's theme in Touhou 9, Phantasmagoria of Flower View. I can imagine the red and white shrine maiden relentlessly blasting any cowering enemies in her path with her amulets and yin yang orbs... well, that description seems to fit her well in just about any Touhou game, actually.
I really like the original theme, and I don't find many good remixes of it; this one by 隣人 is one of if not my favorite remix. Can't tell if I consider this more of a rock or techno song, but it doesn't really matter to me as long as it's enjoyable to listen to.
For my first arrange from Touhou 12, Undefined Fantastic Object, I decided to upload this beautiful piece from Comiket 77. This is an orchestral remix of Fires of Hokkai, the stage 6 theme in UFO, and the character in the picture is Byakuren Hijiri, the stage 6 boss. She strives for humans and youkai to co-exist peacefully, something that seems to be a rarity in Gensokyo. She's also considered to be a sort of saint among some fans, especially since the heroines stop her from trying to bring peace between humans and youkai.
The first time I heard this, my mouth was wide open. I am a big fan of orchestral arranges, especially those like this. This song is inspiring, beautiful, and easily one of my favorite Touhou arranges. I don't want to use the overused word "epic", but it really does describe this well. And I realize that this is synth orchestra, but for me personally, I really don't care about that side detail, at least not when the song is as inspiring and uplifting as this one. And I guess you can say that I'm uploading this one because of the hope that I have for 2010.
This was the first real Christmas Touhou remix I heard, I found it quite a while ago, but I didn't see many others like this until recently. It's a shame, though, there should definitely be more Christmas-themed Touhou remixes out there. Heck, I could always use some more winter arranges as well. If anyone has any recommendations for winter or Christmas Touhou songs, let me know.
Anyway, with all that said, I don't know any other information about this particular arrange, unfortunately. Still, I hope you enjoy the song.
It's getting cold over here... I feel like this is the bet time to stay warm indoors, sit back, relax, and enjoy a good book. We all should go and have tea at the Scarlet Devil Mansion, in the Voile Library, with our favorite librarian, Patchouli Knowledge.
I've been appreciating softer arranges more and more lately, and that's mainly because I feel that they really help me to calm down and relax when I'm studying or if I just need a break from stuff. TAMUSIC has plenty of songs to fit the description "soft, calming, instrumental music", and this is one of my favorites in particular. Especially now that winter is here (at least here in the U.S.), I feel like I can warm up nicely by just sitting by the fireplace, sipping some hot cocoa, and listening to this song.
Now only if this place had a fireplace or hot cocoa...
It's the day after Thanksgiving here in the US, but I figured since I have a lot to be thankful for, I should put a happy song up. And so, here is some happy techno. I doubt that "happy techno" is the best way to put it, but whatever it is, it's still something I'm beginning to enjoy more and more nowadays.
This song is the theme of the stage 6 boss in Perfect Cherry Blossom, Yuyuko Saigyouji. She looks human but she is actually a ghost, though unlike most ghosts, she is actually friendly and cheerful to most. Her assistant is Youmu Konpaku, who is pretty serious and almost the opposite of Yuyuko.
Special thanks to GoldenArcher96 for helping me with this video.
Here's a fun little remix of a song from Touhou 10.5, Scarlet Weather Rhapsody. This is unassigned to any characters, so it's the theme of one of the regular stages there. One thing I like about this song is that it reminds me of Irish folk songs (hence, the title of the remix, "Irish Session") and it's a refreshing change of pace in my opinion. You also hear this song in Touhou 12.3, Hisoutensoku, as all the songs from SWR are on there. Enjoy!
