This collaboration between Louis Vuitton and legendary artist Stephen Sprouse is one of the most iconic and collectible pieces in LV history, originally designed under Marc Jacobs and re-released in 2009 as a tribute collection.

The bold neon graffiti script layered over classic monogram canvas completely changed the way people saw luxury handbags. Even today, the Sprouse graffiti pieces remain some of the most sought-after collector bags Louis Vuitton has ever produced.

✨ This is also unboxing #2 in my birthday haul series — my husband surprised me with three incredible bags this year, and this one has been on my wishlist for a very long time.

LV Denim Bags Cost MORE Than Murakami?! Why I’m Skipping This Collection

In response to some viewer comments, I’m sharing my honest reaction to the new LV denim bags, why many of the prices shocked me, and why I’ve decided to skip this collection completely. What really surprised me is that several pieces in the denim collection are priced HIGHER than items from the Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami collaboration. Murakami is one of the most iconic artist collaborations in Louis Vuitton history, so seeing seasonal denim bags priced above those pieces raises some questions.

I’ll also share the LV denim bag already in my collection, review the quality and design, and explain why the new pricing doesn’t make sense for me as a collector.

As someone who loves Louis Vuitton and has been building a curated collection for years, I always try to evaluate new launches through the lens of value, collectability, and long-term appeal.

This is one of those pieces I truly didn’t expect to add to my collection — and today I’m finally unboxing my Louis Vuitton Mini Soft Trunk from the SS2022 Men’s Taurillon Leather Illusion collection by Virgil Abloh for Louis Vuitton.

Part of the Illusion collection, this Mini Soft Trunk features Taurillon Illusion leather with a trompe-l’œil effect that mimics the iconic Monogram canvas — but rendered entirely in leather. It’s bold, artistic, and a standout from Virgil’s era at Louis Vuitton.

I’ve become more intentional about what I add to my collection, and this piece felt like a thoughtful long-term addition — especially as Virgil-era pieces become harder to source in excellent condition.
