Want to earn $400k a year without going to medical school? The Victorian Government is offering up to $400,741 for a “Multicultural Coordinator-General”. Meanwhile, biological men can’t teach physics at UniMelb (unless they identify as a woman).
In this video, we’re going to be looking at some interesting—to say the least—job ads that viewers have sent in.
Here’s one from Parks Victoria, which, according to their website, is responsible for managing over 4 million hectares of public land and water. It’s for a Rock Art Recovery Project Officer (DAP). Can you guess what DAP stands for? “Dinosaur Awareness Patrol” perhaps? No, “Designated Aboriginal Position”.
Yes, in modern, we’re-woker-than-you Australia, it’s perfectly legal to recruit based on people’s immutable characteristics like race—so long as your DEI department calls it a “Special Measure” and not discrimination.
Occupation: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services. How is that an occupation?
Anyway, for around $100,000 per year, you can “help protect nationally significant Aboriginal rock art”. I wouldn’t mind doing that job—you get to walk around the forest searching for art to protect. But guess what? I can’t.
Because I have the wrong racial background.
Here’s one from the University of Melbourne—Australia’s #1 ranked university—which is famous for its commitment to diversity and inclusion, where discrimination is strictly not tolerated. They even note that under Victorian law, it’s unlawful to discriminate against someone based on gender identity.
Anyway, here’s one of their strictly non-discriminatory job ads: “Senior Lecturer in Mathematical Physics (Women Applicants Only)”.
Yes, we don’t like discrimination at the Uni of Melbourne, but let’s be realistic: biological men simply cannot teach physics—well, unless they identify as a woman: “ONLY WOMEN (CIS- OR TRANS-) ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY.”
I actually majored in physics at university, but unless I’m prepared to make some very radical lifestyle and wardrobe changes, I am legally unqualified to explain quantum field theory at UniMelb.
But this next one takes the cake. Believe it or not, Victoria again.
This time, it’s the Victorian Government advertising for a “Multicultural Coordinator-General” in a proposed new entity called “Multicultural Victoria”.
And how much do you think this coordinator gets paid? $100,000? $200,000? Don’t be silly! Multiculturalism is our strength, and it’s surely worth more of your taxpayer money than that: $344,616 to $400,741—and that’s not even including super.
It’s not quite as high as Premier Jacinta Allan’s salary package of around $530k, but it’s getting close. So if you want to earn as much as a surgeon, perhaps multiculturalism is the career path for you.
Anyway, those are just a few of the jobs you sent in. I think one thing is clear here in progressive Australia: everybody is treated completely equally in the job market… provided you have the right identity, the right politics, and don’t point out discrimination unless it’s the approved kind.
