Argonne is a multidisciplinary science and engineering research center with a decades-long history of enabling science and engineering advances by providing the most powerful supercomputers in the world for open scientific research.

Now, Argonne is home to Aurora - one of the world’s first exascale supercomputers. Housed at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF), a Department of Energy Office of Science user facility, Aurora gives the global science community a powerful new research tool with unprecedented abilities for simulations, AI, and data analysis. Built in partnership with Intel and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), it is ranked as the fastest AI supercomputer in the world, powering breakthroughs in science and engineering, driving advances in technology, and boosting the nation’s innovation infrastructure.

This state-of-the-art exascale supercomputer is accelerating discovery in human health, climate resilience, materials science, clean energy, our understanding of the universe and more.
