With Somnolence, I set out to create an intense proof-of-concept that feels like a feature in under 10 minutes. The story explores the human cost of time travel and the terrifying fallout from a failed energy experiment that rips open a world-devouring singularity, an idea inspired by real-world fears surrounding the LHC and its particle collision experiments. At its core, this film is about the quiet agony of love under extreme pressure: a wife who must help invade the damaged mind of the man she loves, knowing the procedure might break him forever, all in a desperate attempt to save the world.
