Today we are on a mission to eat sancocho, the number one dish in the Dominican Republic, the national food, and a meal everyone gets excited about. We’re meeting up in the countryside along the river with Gaby and her family who are going to cook a massive pot of sancocho.
This was the Dominican food that surprised me the most - when they kept adding more and more ingredients, and all the marinated meats, I couldn’t imagine how the flavor would turn out. Turns out, it really is the great of all Dominican foods, a top food in the Caribbean and something you need to try. Along with avocado and some hot sauce, it was even better!

Today we’re eating at Al-Rahaman, an amazing restaurant in Bangkok that serves some of the best and most unique Indian and Pakistani food (and Bangladeshi food). We’ll meet up with Chef Abdur Rouf, who is originally from Bangladesh, and ask him how he got started cooking and why he chose Bangkok to open a restaurant and serve a mix of Indian and Pakistani food.
The food is all Halal and a few of the top dishes I tried today were the grilled kebab tray, lamb shank nihari, kebab masala, and a Bangladeshi duck.

Today we’re going to the Fairmont Peace Hotel, which is one of the best and most historical hotels in Shanghai, to try one of the best restaurants in Shanghai called Dragon Phoenix. This restaurant is legendary, and they serve rare Shanghainese dishes and also a mix of other regional Chinese foods. The food was incredible, and my favorite dishes were the unique and rare 8 treasures duck, and the steamed grouper fish with green Sichuan pepper.

Welcome to Shanghai, China! Today our mission is to eat at an extremely popular noodle restaurant where you’ll find a huge line of people waiting everyday for a giant bowl of noodles.
The service was really friendly, and I tried a few of their signature dishes including their family noodles. I tried the pig liver noodles and mixed pig intestines soup noodles. The noodles were cooked fresh, with a nice springy texture and they were coated in a sweet and salty sauce classic of Shanghai. The side dish of eel was also delicious.

The chicken itself has a pretty incredible story, originating from China, and as the story goes it was invented by a beggar!
It's a pretty amazing process to make, but the question is, how is the taste? Honestly it was amazing, so juicy, well seasoned, infused with Chinese herbs, and pure delicious. Highly recommended, and something you should try when you're in Kuala Lumpur.

Nody’s Coffee Roasters - Then in the afternoon we had a coffee at Nody’s Coffee Roasters, highly recommended.
Misbah’s House - But the highlight meal of the day was going to Misbah’s house where his mom prepared for us a full traditional Maldivian meal including a seasonal mango curry.
Time For Tea - Finally to end our day, we tried some night street food.
This was my very first day in the Maldives, and the food was outstanding!

Steak Frites (Steak and Fries) is one of the world’s favorite French foods, and today I’ll be trying the famous Le Relais De L'Entrecôte for the first time! How is the experience, and how is the food? We’re about to find out…
Le Relais De L'Entrecôte (maps.app.goo.gl/tEGvdGU98V6EAsVA6) - I chose the location in Paris at Rue Marbeuf because it was convenient where it was, but I’m pretty sure whatever location you go to, the atmosphere and food will be pretty much identical.
What I loved immediately about Le Relais De L'Entrecôte is that there’s no menu, you can only decide if you want your steak rare, medium, or well done. I ordered rare, my wife ordered medium, and to be honest the medium was much better. The secret sauce is also a highlight.

Today for lunch we’re in rural Burgundy, France, and we’re going to eat at a restaurant that serves some of the best chicken, and today Guinea Fowl in all of France. Chef Frédéric Ménager has an entire farm where he raises the most special and some of the best poultry in the world.
From his own farm he cooks and roasts chickens and Guinea fowls, and you never know what you’ll get until you arrive. Today on the menu was Guinea fowl and it was roasted to perfection.

Not only the Guinea fowl, but the entire meal and experience was breathtaking - a truly memorable French food gastronomical experience.

Later that evening we had dinner at Baraabaru, the Indian restaurant at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa. Chef Hari and Chef Krishan. We had one of the best butter chickens I’ve had, ghee roasted chicken wings, and a real highlight was the coast to coast fish, with half of the fish dedicated to Bengali spices and the other half to Kerala.

Thank you to Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa (maps.app.goo.gl/uvbimkNz7EeGeN61A) for the complementary stay!
This was my first time to visit Maldives, and I was extremely excited. We landed in Male (Velana International Airport), the most populous area of Maldives, and were greeted by staff, waited for just a few minutes and literally walked out of the airport to the boat. The water was immediately turquoise and crystal clear. The boat rice to the hotel took about 30 minutes but we had the rare privilege of seeing pilot whales and dolphins on the ride.
Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa is truly paradise on earth - from the private island to the luxury accommodation and facilities, and the amazing restaurants - next video we’ll also try one of the best Indian restaurants in Maldives located at Four Seasons. I really enjoyed the poke bowl with fresh Maldivian food and the breakfast.

We’re in the Suphan Buri (สุพรรณบุรี) province of Central Thailand (about an hour and a half drive from Bangkok), which is famous for freshwater fish and freshwater river shrimp (prawns). Today our mission is to stop at one of the many freshwater shrimp shacks along the side of the highway to order the freshest shrimp, and have them cooked right on spot, five different ways!
First of all, there were two different sizes you can choose from with two different prices per kilo. I chose one kilo of the biggest size to be grilled. And then I got another 2 kilos of the smaller size to be divided into four other dishes they can cook for you.
Here’s all 5 of the dishes you can order:
Grilled river shrimp (กุ้งแม่น้ำเผา)
Fried rice (ข้าวผัด)
Shrimp Tom Yum (ต้มยำกุ้ง)
Fried shrimp with garlic (กุ้งทอดกระเทียม)
Shrimp with holy basil (ผัดกะเพรากุ้ง)
Overall, my favorite dishes were just the plain grilled shrimp and the fried shrimp with garlic. Our total bill for 3 kilos of shrimp and all the preparation came to 1,840 THB ($55.52)

Today we’re eating at Hadramout Anter ( maps.app.goo.gl/Zu8dUqpvDJmp1ywt5 ), one of the most popular Egyptian bbq restaurants in Cairo. Between their two restaurants, they serve around 20,000 people per day!
You arrive to Hadramount Anter and you can already see how huge this restaurant is and the buzz and energy that surrounds it. They have a butchery at the front where many people come to buy fresh lamb and beef. But keep going and they have a huge restaurant that goes up many floors.
They are famous for Egyptian style mandi inspired by Yemeni and Gulf cuisine - a tray of rice served with slow cooked lamb underground. Additionally they serve you a variety of grilled meats, Egyptian kebabs, and Egyptian tarb - kofta wrapped in caul fat and grilled. Their grill is on a huge scale and you will be impressed by the size and quantity of everything.
So how was the food? It was amazing, the meat was so fresh and so smoky, perfectly seasoned. People come here for their huge trays of Egyptian bbq!

We’re in Chongqing, China where you’ll find some of the spiciest and most mouth numbing Chinese food in China. Our mission today is to find and cook a dish called La Zi Ji which is the Sichuan version of spicy mala fried chicken. This particular dish is famous at Sichuan restaurants across the world and this version originates in a village within Chongqing, China.
We got lucky to be able to see the entire recipe using a whole chicken, chopping it up, frying it, and then frying it again with tons of dried chilies, Sichuan pepper, and sesame seeds. The result was an extreme amount of flavor - one of the best versions of Chinese chili fried chicken I’ve ever had and one of the best plates of la zi ji.

Welcome to Luxor, Egypt, known as the world’s largest open air museum because of its ancient Egyptian history that’s everywhere. In this video today we’re spending 24 hours in Luxor, Egypt to see some of the most important historical sights and of course delicious Egyptian food in a full day!
Luxor Temple - We’re starting this morning at the famous Temple of Luxor, right in the heart of the city, constructed in about 1400 BCE.
Temple of Karnak - This UNESCO world heritage site is absolutely a must visit when you’re in Egypt and a huge part of the ancient city of Thebes (Luxor now). One of the most impressive parts of visiting Karnak is the hypostyle hall that includes 134 columns that are 10 meters high.
Abu Rushdi Restaurant (maps.app.goo.gl/fN4VgG4Qv5SLrXB29) - A lot of locals recommended this as one of the best local Egyptian food restaurants in Luxor. And the food was fantastic, from the roast chicken to the beef cooked in ghee. Great and local place to experience Egyptian food when you’re in Luxor.
Valley of the Kings - Next up on this tour in Luxor, Egypt, we’re going to the famous Valley of the Kings, across the Nile River from the temples, where you’ll find some of the most famous tombs of all the Pharaohs - from Ramesses to Seti to Tutankhamun. The hieroglyphics and wall painting reliefs are truly impressive.
Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut - Not far from the Valley of the Kings is the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, another impressive temple built and terraced into the side of the mountain.
Om Hashem Grills (maps.app.goo.gl/RDaiRiT3NBzux3oZ6) - Sightseeing in Ancient Egypt will get you hungry, and if you ask most locals in Luxor where to go for Egyptian bbq, that answer will be Om Hashem Grills. Abanoub and I tried their lamb chops, kofta, and tarb.
24 hours in Luxor, Egypt, and guaranteed this is a place that will blow your mind with history, architecture, and incredible culture.

Today we’re driving from Florence, Italy into the beautiful countryside of Tuscany to go to one of the most unique, bizarre, and delicious restaurants in Italy called Podere Belvedere Tuscany.
Here Chef Edoardo specializes in wild game meat. His vision is to bring back ancient recipes, use every part of an animal, be sustainable using local ingredients, and serve incredible Tuscan food. And this was a meal experience like I’ve never had before - from dry aged squab to an aged local deer, and a massive horse steak.
This is not the typical Italian food you think of… but let me tell you, it was incredibly local, unique, and delicious. And that deer ragu was definitely a highlight!

Today we’re taking a day trip to Kamakura from Tokyo, Japan! In this video I’ll be giving you all the details about how to take this amazing day trip and everything you should do, see, and especially eat when you visit this amazing city. Kamakura is about an hour away from Tokyo, along the coast, and it’s a perfect place for a day trip when you have an extra day in Tokyo, Japan.
From Tokyo Station, we caught the normal train to Kita-Kamakura Station (actually the station before the main Kamakura station - we got off early in order to hike.)
Shintomi Ramen and Sushi (maps.app.goo.gl/L3GVo7SpDdjF9J15A) - First we stopped for some food at the nearest ramen restaurant. It was simple and good.
Verve Coffee Roasters (maps.app.goo.gl/yjxoxjPkU92B3FzF9) - And before hiking I needed some energy!
Daibutsu Hiking Trail - This was a highlight of the day, even though it was a bit muddy. It takes about an hour and there are great views and lots of nature along the way.
Shirasu Cafe Kamakura Jinbei (maps.app.goo.gl/3vfKiBfRA7Ummart9) - One of the reasons I really wanted to visit Kamakura on a day trip from Tokyo was to eat shirasu - the delicacy of Kamakura which are little translucent fish called whitebait.

When you take the train in Japan, it’s a full experience, and a major part of that experience is the food - Japanese train bento boxes! They have taken to-go food to another world level, and today I’ll be showing the journey taking business class on Japan’s Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo to Osaka.
Along with all the other bento boxes of Japanese food I couldn’t resist, I was on a mission to find a self-heating Kobe Beef bento box - but how was it?

The owner said his top seller is the sea and land burger, including shrimp, beef patty, portobello mushrooms, and all the works of toppings. It was actually very tasty, highly recommended.

SALALAH, OMAN - Welcome to Salalah, a nature paradise in southern Oman! Normally during the monsoon season, Salalah is extremely famous for its lush green grass, waterfalls, and crystal clear water. In the season I went it was still tropical and greener than most of Oman - but we came for the food.
And in this video we’re starting with fruit breakfast at the Salalah fruit market. Then Ali is taking us to one of his favorite local camel restaurants. Camel meat is the favorite meat in Salalah, and they are very particular how it’s made and the quality of camel, so we’ll get a full briefing about camel and taste many varieties. Omani food is amazing.

In today’s video we’re exploring Wadi Shab, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Oman, known for its canyon gorge, crystal clear water pools, and secret water!
It was about an hour and a half drive from Muscat to Wadi Shab, and immediately to get started you need to take a boat across the channel of water to start the hike. The hike takes about 45 minutes to an hour and it’s very easy, just following the gorge up stream. The pools of water are clear and it’s amazing to see little patches of date palms against the red rocks. Finally you’ll arrive to the main swimming destination. From you you get into the water and swim upstream to the waterfall. Hidden underneath an almost cave, with just enough room to squeeze your head under, you’ll find a secret waterfall. The scenery is stunning and the water was turquoise and clear.
After visiting Wadi Shab, we headed to Sur, along the coast for lunch. We tried a seafood restaurant called Al Hawash Restaurant, known for their fresh quality seafood. Nothing hit the spot more!

Today we’re eating at Eden Noodles Cafe, one of the highest rated, and most famous Chinese food restaurants in Auckland, New Zealand! They are legendary for their Sichuan style noodles and dumplings and I knew it was a place I wanted to check out when I was in Auckland.
There are now a number of locations around Auckland, but we’re going to the original location in Mount Eden, Auckland. It’s a humble and laid back, shophouse, style restaurant, full open kitchen, and very friendly. I arrived early right as they opened to try and beat the crow (I read quite a lot of reviews that at peak meal time it can be packed and you might have to wait).
You make your order at the front of the restaurant and then sit down. I ordered extra hot dumplings, extra hot beef noodles, and also I wanted to taste the unique Maori sweet potato noodles made dandan style. So how was the food? To be honest the extra hot wasn’t very spicy, could have been bumped up a few notches, but the flavors were fantastic. I especially loved the dumplings!
Highly recommended for Chinese noodles and dumplings when you’re in New Zealand!

NOTE: I personally paid for this Cathay Pacific Business Class flight in full.
Today we’re flying from Bangkok to Hong Kong and on to Auckland, New Zealand on Cathay Pacific Airlines, Business Class. I’m going to show you the entire experience, and all the food along the way - from the lounges to the flights.
We started off with a short flight from Bangkok to Hong Kong, and all went well. We then headed to the Cathay Pacific lounge in Hong Kong where I discovered a food court hidden where you can eat some amazing dan dan noodles and wonton noodles.
The main flight from Hong Kong to Auckland was about 10 hours, and it all went well. The food was excellent, and the staff were great. I think Cathay Pacific is one of the best airlines for food and service.

During my food trip in Penang, Malaysia, Auntie Gaik Lean's Old School Eatery was one of the best meals I ate. They specialize in Nyonya or Peranakan food, a combination of Malay and Chinese cooking, flavors, and ingredients, creating a true fusion that’s ultra flavorful.
We luckily got in for lunch at this Michelin One Star restaurant, and the food was outstanding. I especially loved the stingray curry (curry tumis) with lots of torch ginger flower.
Highly recommended for one of the best formal restaurants in Penang, Malaysia.

This street food stall was featured in the Penang Michelin Guide, and it’s a second generation run stall, serving chicken noodles, bean sprout chicken, and a few extra side dishes. The noodles were delicious and simple in flavor, easy to eat, and perfect for breakfast.

Today Ms. Dalal is going to be making maqluba, a famous Syrian celebration food that everyone enjoys! We’ve been invited over to her house, and she’s going to cook us her special recipe. It includes eggplant, in this case veal, rice, some light spices, butter, and an assortment of nuts.
When you eat maqluba in Syria you get a real taste of authentic home cooking. And with refreshing yogurt and cucumbers that made it even better. This was another amazing meal in Damascus, Syria!

Today we’re visiting Deir Mar Musa el-Habashi, a Catholic monastery in Syria with original frescoes that date back to the 11th century! This incredible site is hidden in the rocky mountains, and in order to get there, you have to hike in silence.
One of the amazing things about visiting this monastery is that everyday at 2 pm there’s a complementary communal lunch and everyone who is there for the day gathers to eat.

Ephesus, Türkiye - During my latest food trip to Turkey, I really wanted to visit the ancient city of Ephesus. Finally it came down to one day, and I still had no plans. We had a full day in Izmir before catching an evening flight to Gaziantep. So I decided to rent a car for the day, we’d visit Ephesus (about 1.5 hours drive from Izmir), and return the car to the Izmir Airport for our evening flight. Worked perfectly!
Askerin Yeri Piknik Restaurant (maps.app.goo.gl/d7FNL3Cv7DdqqBw9A) - But first, before we entered the ancient city of Ephesus, we stopped for a quick lunch. This restaurant was amazing, located just outside the gates of Ephesus. Total price - 1,000 TRY ($30.99) for everything
Ephesus Ancient City: Ticket - €52 per person - It was amazing to visit Ephesus, and ancient city in Turkey, truly surreal. After we visited Ephesus we continued on to visit the Virgin Mary’s house.

After flying from Istanbul to Izmir, located along the Aegean Sea in Turkey, I was hungry for some local seafood.
So I walked over to İzmir Deniz Restaurant, a well known and respected Turkish seafood restaurant right along the corniche and waters edge. This restaurant has been featured in many guides, known for its seafood.
There’s indoor seating an a big outdoor patio area. The menu is huge, with lots of mezze starter dishes that include both seafood and vegetables, and then the full seafood menu. You can also go inside to see what the fresh catch is for the day. I ordered a seabass, some red mullets, and some shrimp, along with some other side dishes.
Meal was great, and the fish was fresh. If you’re looking for a nicer end family seafood restaurant in Izmir, this is a great place!

🇹🇷 Best Doner Kebab in Istanbul: youtu.be/L8J2-NiOzQA
If you’re looking for one of the best Turkish meat kebabs and barbecue restaurants in Istanbul, Beyti Restaurant is about as good as it gets. Started originally in 1945 by Beyti Güler, the restaurant is now a household name when it comes to meat - and he invented the famous Beyti kebab - lamb aged for 12 days and wrapped in fat.
I was very excited to try this legendary restaurant and I got a reservation for lunch. I had no idea what to expect, but I arrived and I received the most friendly hospitality and service you can imagine. Without me arriving anything in advance, they immediately gave me an entire tour of the restaurant (which is a museum on its own), and even showed me the kitchen.
The food was outstanding, and the quality of meat was on another level. After eating, they refused to allow me to pay!
Thank you to the incredible Beyti Restaurant in Istanbul. Highly recommended, the food is without a doubt some of the best Turkish meat ever.

🇹🇷 Street Food in Gaziantep: youtu.be/hs9GqAkBecI
Today we’re traveling a little outside of the center of Istanbul to go eat what is considered to be one of the best places to eat Turkish doner kebab in Istanbul! And let me tell you, if you love meat and if you love doner, this is a must eat restaurant in Istanbul.
The restaurant is huge with plenty of tables, and with about half a dozen doner kebabs cooking and serving all at the same time. Although I heard if you go during a peak mealtime you might need to wait for a table - but when I arrived right as they opened, I got a table immediately.
Each doner kebab is approximately 200 kilos! And what surprised me is that, even with their volume, they cook everything fresh, from the bread to the meat. It really was the best Turkish doner kebab I’ve ever had in my life!
