... her name is Laura Palasthund. usually, she works at a cafe somewhere in the next city(?) over. in her sleep, however, she often finds herself outside of her own realm of dreams, guiding others back to their own before something looming in the distance has the chance to destroy their physical forms without a trace.

there isn't a lot that's known about her, except that she always looks out for her wife's stubborn "baby brother" and cheerful nephew... who she likes to prank by completely shifting her personality between the two of them. one sees a quiet and laid-back voice of reason (what you're listening to atm). the other sees a near-superhero athlete with a grin just as bright as his own. though she herself... remains a mystery, even to the ones who know and love her.

either way, so long as she's protecting the Subconscious Realm... she will make the work of a particular villain extremely complicated.

In times where I felt like I was the one to blame for the many misfortunes I faced, the looming sense of guilt and shame consumed my mind, and it grew worse every time. In this moment, my skills had evolved to a height that overshadowed and surpassed the first two albums of Shadow of Light. The experience I gained allowed me to reveal the toxic mindset I had lost myself in.

What resulted was a prelude to greater underlying problems within me that I have yet to fix.

This album will be a horrifying and meticulous dissection into my reoccurring thoughts and actions.

Eleanor Forte AI FINALLY got her Vocal Modes update, so i made sure to also update this track before i posted it here. Eleanor opens the album "They Know Who They Are" with a revised version of "The Momentary Highs, The Unfathomable Lows" that has a different, but significant ending- the theme of this album, if you haven't figured it out by now, is abuse- the enforced, enforcing, and enforcers. Many have cheated other people out of an honest life, and get away with it without any consequence. In my case, i had not realized that a lot of the things i blame myself for on a daily basis root from people who have enforced this logic of being ashamed of my true self for the decades i've been here, so trying to understand exactly WHAT i am now is a mystery that has only begun. i know that i'm not accepted by the community i was born and raised in. i know that many people will not be able to understand me, even if i transcribed my feelings into my work. i know that autism is a thing that is exponentially growing and being accepted. But the truth remains- there are many out there who share in this overwhelmingly disgusting feeling of having been used, having, or advocating for, autism while growing up- and it's about time EVERYONE talks about it.

we can't let this happen again.

so after our good friend the bacteriophage "does their job", there's always the remnants left after the horror. picking up pieces, watching them fall apart again, picking up, falling apart... just how complicated is moving on? it's extremely hard to do, so i've been told. always feels like it's hopeless, but never feels like it has no purpose. something that always eluded me about the human mind is how it is able to forgive itself for mistakes made in the past- caused or not. it isn't sheer ignorance, but it isn't compassion and understanding either. we can only keep so much hurt to ourselves before it starts blanketing all other aspects of our lives. there are some that i know who repress these things out of harsh necessity. yet, knowing the things i know now about my life, moving on and trying to keep up to speed with everyone else will be almost impossibly complicated. that said, i'm sorry if i'm taking too much time to do it.

next is the subject of SynthV's Natalie. from what i understand, she had a bit of a bad start because of her demo tracks, but uh... we shouldn't let those demo tracks define her, tbh. the voice she was able to provide for this track was... absolutely perfect, to say the least. i would have gone with SOLARIA, but there's something about Natalie's range and tone that perfectly resonates with the lyrics and composition.

this track comes from an album that i am currently working on - i had thought about not really saying much of anything about it, as it was a sudden idea for an album at that time, and i go through those like paper (commitment issues), but after finishing a few tracks for it, i decided to make this a thing. then i realized that i practically ghosted all of you as a result of the work i'm putting into this thing. all of this said, i might as well give you at least one glimpse into the mayhem i've been focused on. i will warn you: i'll be experimenting with all types of sounds for this album, so you can expect a lot of harsh noise and sensory overload as a result.

this track is about science, i think. that, or the vicious cycle of abuse seen from the eyes of a simple organism attacking its host. i've seen many stories like this one, where it just... continues. doesn't stop, or get remedied... it continues, and sometimes, it shows from both sides. either can try to move on from it, but it will live within them forever. even an argument you may think was insignificant can hold that much of a difference. without resolution or closure, it continues again and again.

manually making growls/screams for a synth voice with none of those features is extremely hard work, but it was necessary for this track, and for another that'll be worked on after a little break i'm taking, since i had worked on this track for nearly 10 days in a row. . . . have i mentioned how much fun i'm having with synthesizer v?
