While fans may have had a cathartic reaction to this event, Marc Brown heavily disapproved this, finding both Arthur hitting DW unacceptable, and the moral aesop being broken when Binky in the later half gets away with hitting Arthur, while Binky gets away scott free (with Arthur's parents being incredibly unsympathetic about the incident). DW also was never punished for breaking Arthur's plane, nor learned how you shouldn't mess with other people's belongings
