I recently returned from a content production trip for my friends from Divevolk, having spent a week in the Red Sea in rather challenging conditions. But the conditions weren't the only special thing on this trip. For several reasons I decided not to bring my trusty RED Komodo-X and GATES Underwater Housing on this production trip but packed my fairly new Nikon ZR and the Sea Frogs Aluminum Underwater Housing instead.
This was the first time I used the Nikon ZR and the Sea Frogs Aluminum Underwater Housing in a professional setting and for a paid underwater job. And this combination didn't disappoint. Image quality of the Nikon ZR is fantastic, the handling inside the Sea Frogs Aluminum Housing is easy and intuitive and the size and weight of the setup are a relief on my back and my excess luggage fees for airlines. But there was also some head scratching during this production and I'll tell you more about it in the video.
All in all this is a fantastic, compact, reasonably prices and highly capable underwater video setup that also captures fairly good, high quality stills.
I can highly recommend this combination for ambitious underwater videographers and professional video shooters alike.
