In this video, I'm using one of my Archfiend decks that utilises the standard Emperor/Empress combo, in addition to some alternate win conditions such as the Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon package, and Draglubion. Also, this deck runs a Mystic Mine package to help slow the game down a bit! This is my Archfiends vs Lyrilusc Tri-Brigade duel for the December 2021 format!
My deck takes advantage of Archfiend Empress' summoning power in addition to excellent fiend support such as Tour Guide from the Underworld, Fiendish Rhino Warrior and Scarm, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss! Being able to maintain high level fiends on the field whilst also benefitting from destruction effects is the main gameplay feature of Archfiends. The side strategy can be flexible with this deck, whether that's removing multiple cards via the Cipher package or OTK'ing with Draglubion and Numeron Dragon. We also run Mystic Mine in this build as it works fantastically well with Archfiends. By their nature, Archfiends build tall rather than wide, so we don't rely on summoning multiple monsters in a single turn, or churning out tons of negates. Instead, we just summon big, beefy fiends that replace themselves. Due to this, Mystic Mine works in our favour, and we can slowly pick off the opponent's monsters without fear of them interacting. It also helps us resolve Tour Guide, and we have natural outs in the form of Masterking Archfiend, Archfiend Emperor and Archfiend's Roar, giving us great field control and flexibility. Finally, we also make best use of the unique boss monster Berserk Dragon, for attacking all monsters the opponent controls. Thanks to A Deal with Dark Ruler being an Archfiend card, we can easily summon Berserk Dragon, making it a solid option for Archfiend builds moving forward.
Lyrilusc Tri-Brigade is a hugely popular deck this format and arguably one of the best in the format. It is a highly consistent, combo oriented deck that can make use of level 1 monsters for summoning Number F0: Utopic Draco Future for monster negates, attack directly multiple times with Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale, omni negates with Mist Valley Apex Avian, card bouncing with Ancient Warriors Oath - Double Dragon Lords, and card banishing with Tri-Brigade Shuraig the Ominous Omen. Tri-Brigade Revolt is a very powerful trap card that can make use of your GY or banished monsters for instant link summoning! This deck is a force to be reckoned with in this format, and a tough one to deal with!
