Camo & Krooked - Good Times Bad Times (Document One Remix)
Thoman and mufat recently showed me their new start with an improved rampcut and a flip on the left side rather than the right side (crizpy's idea, to avoid the car to shift gears before the flip since it travels slightly less distance), and from it I found a really powerful rammbug on the flip's landing that puts the car in a nosedown position making it accelerate faster for a bit The result was an incredible +8 km/h at the checkpoint line that sparked some of the lost hope for the uber dream Thoman found a very weak uber from it, far from reaching the other road, but it was a light at the end of the tunnel already After mufat improved the speed outcome of the rammbug up to +11 km/h compared to previous TAS, I tried the uber again and this time the magic happened: an uber that reaches the other side of the map But it was far from over, after such an important breakthrough we needed a really good ending So the 4 of us started working on the nosebugs sequence to keep as much of the uber's speed as possible, with the extra challenges of making the car also go smoothly through the bumpy transitions, AND in a good trajectory for flipping out of the last ramp for low airtime After 3 more days of combined efforts and sharing inputs back and forth, we're proud to present the final product of our work: 20.86
Let this be a good example of not giving up even when everyone says something is impossible
This beautiful video editing was entirely made by @crizpycheese8287
after seeing the great amount of appreciation and love my TAS Space Trip video got from the community, I decided to make another one in similar fashion
I went for Kacky maps again because to me it's by far the most fun style both to TAS and to watch again I actively avoided choosing maps where noseboosting would be the fastest strat, but on one of them I accidentally found myself with 420 kmh and a nose position so I had to go for it 🤷 the remaining 42 TASes are noseboost-free though, don't worry
the map selection this time is more focused on longer, trickier and slower maps where it's possible to save large amounts of time, often with new cuts and strats
while a couple cuts might be RTA viable, the big majority clearly isn't many of them were really hard to get even with TAS
I believe that video editing plays a great role in the quality of the watching experience so once again I spent way too much time on that front the result is a Cyberpunk style edit with a bunch of cutscenes sprinkled among the TAS runs
hope y'all enjoy it :)
for the side quest enjoyers, i've hidden a tiny url in the video that leads to an easter egg.. the thing finishes when you find gg.txt hint: you dont have to look for a specific frame, you can see it very often gl

I've been making some runs in my free time the past months, and as they were slowly becoming too many I finally decided it's time to make a video with them It's a compilation of TASes on Kackiest Kacky maps, plus a little bonus at the end of the video Most of them were done to try out cut ideas, some of which ended up working, and some others didn't I'm pretty sure some of the cuts are even decently RTA viable

We worked on this project for nearly 2 months, trying to optimise every run as much as we could All the RTA WRs are very good, and the style of the maps, being short and linear, made saving every single hundredth a tough challenge We managed to find many cuts and tricks to save some time, some of which are fairly RTA viable, some not so much Every TAS was made entirely by us without using anyone else's replay as a base run On each map both TAS POV and RTA WR POV are shown, to give a good perspective of the time gained and to showcase every cut and little trick we pulled off The aim of this video is to have a relaxing compilation of TrackMania "gameplay" that looks as satisfying and close to perfection as possible

Alright, maybe the most awaited cut idea of TM Nadeo TAS finally became a reality :P The original idea was posted by Jordy on the Trackmania TAS Discord in June: https://i.imgur.com/EWvAgIL.png Since then, a lot of tasers gave it a try, but the conditions to match are so precise that it made most of the people give up, or think it was impossible...
But not us.
The uber needed for this idea to work had to be: a) a very fast uber b) hit the top of the bluewall block to redirect and keep the line very low c) get the correct amount of rotation from the same hit to be able to land on your nose early enough
Of course standard bruteforce couldn't help with getting all these conditions at the same time, so I made a small discord group with Na'Guul, Shweetz and Alex B and explained them my idea of a custom bruteforcing script that could be helpful. After discussing and improving my initial idea, Na'Guul programmed a beautiful script to find low and fast ubers. After preparing 58 different base runs, finding 35 low ubers with the script, and trying to manually adjust them one by one to get the right rotation, I finally found the nosebug setup and added the noseboost.
At this point we knew we had it, but we still needed the rest of the run to be worthy of A01 TAS WR :P So me and Na'Guul continued working on it for one entire day to reach the CP in a nosebug fiesta, and we were ready to get a gs launch to the ring. But then we quickly found out that gs launch on platform is not even close to be as powerful as on grass, and could give us a maximum height of 3 blocks... and we needed 10. By using the ramp normally we would have needed to slow down from 1000 km/h to 550 km/h to avoid overjumping the finish, but imagine slowing down in A01 TAS. We definitely had to find a way to hit the top of the ring to lower the trajectory, and after trying a million different strategies we came up with this jump from the top of the bluewalls on the side and found this magic ring hit that made us land very early and in nose position on the next platform, to be able to noseboost again and zoom into the finish line with 983 km/h.
All in all, a solid -5.44 (22,8%) improvement in one of the simplest Nadeo Campaign tracks (:

After seeing the huge potential that noseboost opened on the Trackmania TAS world, I finally decided it was time to get serious with it, instead of only using it only to improve the last 2 seconds of a run :P And what better map to experiment on than E01, with its wonderful 600 kmh setup quickly after start, and the long way coming after that. I've drawn lots of ideas and plans, got the noseboost and started experimenting.
I quickly realized how much work this TAS was gonna be, so I hit JaV and ins up, asking for help with playing around with nosebugs combos to find some useful ones. After the first day we had the two bug-CPs, on second day we found our way to get the gs launch that went through the rings, and we got the finish first with the quarterpipe bounce, and then with the pole uber strategy.
But we weren't satisfied.
We knew the angle for the direct flight towards the finish road existed for sure, but it was so narrow and we needed a very specific spot to take off to even attempt it. After hours of attempts ins managed to find a gs launch setup on the perfect spot, and after more hours of bruteforcing and tweaking it, JaV finally found the pixel perfect ring-hit into bugfinish.
This TAS took about 42 hours of almost non-stop working (JaV is from NZL so he was awake while me and ins were sleeping, and vice versa :P)
It was a long ride but needless to say we are very happy with the result :)
As of today, this is the Nadeo TAS with the biggest percentage of RTA WR shaved off, with an incredible 47%.

This setup was quite hard to get, because any slight hit or clip of the poolsides resulted in too big speed loss, which wouldn't make the trick work. With this small ramm into backflip i managed to keep barely enough speed to get the boost, and I needed to chain 12 nosebugs to get a peak speed of 892 km/h, and 1000 km/h after the gs

I started this TAS just because I thought Sokko's start was improvable by quite a big margin and I expected to get a total time of -2 seconds or such. Then I had the idea of this uber. I knew the speed of about 350 km/h was going to be barely enough for the uber to be possible, but the biggest problem was getting a setup without giving away nearly any of the speed. I drove and bruteforced over 20 setups, and only one of them resulted in an actual uber, even if really weak: 64 velocity, it was barely reaching the base of the blue inflatable. I spent one afternoon changing the inputs a bit, bruteforcing and repeat, and the uber was still way too slow, barely over 70 velocity. I was about to give up, then all of a sudden a breakthrough happened: 107 velocity uber. Bruteforcing that one a bit with different settings i got it to 118 velocity, which is the final one you can see in the run. I redirected the aim a little, found this little nosebug trick to change the direction towards the finish line (the bridge structure is blocking the direct uber line towards finish) and finally got this sub 30s.

A Sector Run is a segmented speedrun where players divide the track in various parts, drive them individually as fast as possible, and then put the footage together to create a single perfect run
We begun this project on my nearly 10 years old trial track Oachkatzlschwoafs on ICE after kamil finally pulled off an insane CP1 shortcut, that was attempted by many during the years, but succeeded by none
We decided to keep the general progression of the track intact, so we ignored any possible alternative route that required taking CheckPoints in a different order than the intended one
After one month of hunting, finding tricks, cuts, strategies, and having a good time on Discord, the video is finally ready for you to watch :)
2011 igntuL: I guess a perfect run is about 15 minutes. Seriously though, I expect a first run to take about a week with breaks, or less if you are a good driver. 2021 igntuL: yes
Enjoy !
_____
Methods:
On every sector except for CP17 we recreated the outcome of the previous part by driving We tried to have the speeds and the trajectories as matching as possible to make the merges between the recordings look clean We achieved this by racing against our ghost replays, or writing down the speed number and building a set-up with blocks that gave us the correct state at the chosen merging point
CP17 was done with the help of an external program that saves your car's position and momentum with a hotkey, and allows you to respawn in your previous state It's essentially the same principle as every other "sector change", except that the trick used in that situation didn't allow us to recreate the state of the previous sector by normal driving, for obvious reasons, so we had to resort to the Save State This was the only instance an external program was used in the Run
