On July 15, 1975, NASA astronauts Deke Slayton, Tom Stafford, and Vance Brand launched in an Apollo spacecraft atop a Saturn IB from Launch Pad 39B at Kennedy Space Center. The mission was to rendezvous and dock with a Soviet Soyuz spacecraft and crew.
