and thanks Psyknux for the strat and ReneBalow for the trick used at the end
To pass through the statue you just have to force against its head, you eventually will pass through it
Then jump, drill dive and glide to proceed
A quick drill dive/glide (Drill dive and press A to glide as fast as you can) or braking glides are needed ir order to have enough height to reach the room where the chao is
If you glide toward that room and pass a little bit below it rouge for some reason will be pushed and ascend to the room when she touchthe water of the pond

Thanks SadisticMystic for reminding me about the polygons that flip the level gravity
A few years ago I was exploring the last part of Crazy Gadget to see if there was a way to backtrack from the last checkpoint. I was firstly looking for a gap where the kill planes are connected but I didn't find nothing. I knew that there are no kill planes behind the room where the Goal Ring is but I haven't thought about breaking through it.
Recently I found that you can simply break through it by just performing a homing attack aimming on the corners of the room, then you just have to guide your way to the room where there is a mystic artefact in and then proceed to get the remaining rings
So I thought that you could now get +5 Rings on M1 and +10 on M5, but unfortunately on M1 there are 5 checkpoints and in order to take ring advantage from all of them you had to skip 3 and there was no way back to the room where the first warp tube is. So the maximun would be 416.
I've tried some methods to backtrack with the Gravity pointing Up, Down and Right (Accoring to the "big gravity room"), had no success with down and up, then I remembered about the method that is now used to reach the Goal Ring from the "Big Gravity Room" and using it but with the gravity pointing Right I could backtrack to that room. But, what about the gravity ?
You can touch the switch but you can't press it with this gravity...
So I've talked to SadisticMystic if he knew any way to backtrack to that room or to flip the gravity and he reminded me about the polygons that if you touch will change the gravity. But the only ones I knew are the ones close to the big "L" rail in the "Gravity Room" and the ones in the room before the "C" line of Rings.
After looking as many places as possible I found that the first area where Sonic starts falling has polygons to flip the gravity, you just have to touch it and then Sonic will back to normal gravity, making it possible to grab the remaining 3 Rings skipped and finishing with a total of 419/411.
I don't know if the gravity changes to normal at that spot because it is the coordinate (0,0,0), I just wonder...

I have found a way to backtrack from the last checkpoint so now it's possible to take advantage of another checkpoint earning +10 Rings.
The final area of the stage is full of Kill Planes(Kill Planes are polygons that if you touch will cause an immediate death), but they don't exist out of the room behing the Goal Ring, so you just need to jump and then homing attack on the corners to pass through.
DC version has advantage because the capsule obtained at 0:03 was replaced by an artificial chaos on GC and other versions.

The question is, why did they put that rings there? I don't know but after many years trying I finally found a way to get them
I thought that with a Magnetic Shield it would be possible to obtain them, but, how to get back from the 2nd to the first platform ? At the time it was impossible, but thanks to a new trick that allows you to get a boost of speed out of loopings is now possible to backtrack
Have you ever homing attacked aside from a loop and instantly got pushed down? Well, that are the polygons that give you a boost of speed. If you manage to spin dash-jump-bounce-bounce and then homing attack on the right angle you will be pushed against the direction you are facing, and with that you can fly long distances
But how to obtain the 75 rings under the platform without dying? This is the hard part... You have to attract the Rings and then when they are above you perform a light dash at a very precise time. If done right Sonic will grab the Rings and the dash will help you to get back to the platform. You have 3 frames to perform the light dash. The Rings don't exist on DC version
With that you can get Perfect Rings on Metal Harbor M5
A few people have asked me how to get 584 Rings on Final Rush M1. The first time I got 579 on DC I thought that I missed 5 rings or a ring capsule, but there are some DC versions that has a 10 rings capsule where on the others is a 5. Me and Russell (SadisticMystic) figured that out when we were counting the rings. The capsule in question is the first ring capsule close to the spiral rail inside the ARK after the first checkpoint. This version seems to be rare and at the time I haven't found it yet

There's not much to say, to perfom this glitch you have to spin dash jump, "rise" a little bit to avoid a kill plane and then hold specific angles to get to the goal ring.
Note that the video is not originally 720p, it was upscaled in order to allow 60 fps

Played on a Gamecube (Sonic Mega Collection) and Recorded with a DVD Recorder (Toshiba dkr-40)
The glitch is simple to perform, you have to clip through the wall and get pushed to the left by pressing right, then, you have to press and hold left at the exact time |almost frame perfect| or else Sonic dies. And also there is an almost exact time to release left, or else Sonic won't even make it to finish or you'll get a 0:14 What I understood is that Sonic gets pushed immediatelly to the end of the level and you have to be at a certain spot when the camera reaches it or else Sonic dies.
I've used pause abuse (a technique that consists in pressing pause at certain times to help you to press the buttons you need with a more accurate timming) to press left at right time I have pressed left then released it for a few frames the pressed it again and held it
There is a tool, an emulator with a camhack function that you can use to see and understand what happens after the zip that can be downloaded here http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8827

The trick is simple, lock the camera and get the key without seeing it or lock the camera and get the key far from the camera was locked
On GC you can enter with Sonic and Shadow at test level but by a different trick, causing an intentional death, pass the goal ring and restart at a checkpoint that has a chao box close and you get it just before the screen turns black Darkspinessonic has videos showing it if you want to see how its done
So for the Glitched key's
Sonic - I found Knuckles - Thanks Darkspinessonic for finding it Tails - I've Found before making this video, but looked at Dss channel and noticed that he found it too Shadow - I found Rouge - Thanks Darkspinessonic for finding it and Groudom0199 for posting an easier version Eggman - Founded unintentionally, first glitched key founded after the release of the game
On the video I reach the Game's dimensional floor, it is possible on this level because it doesn't have kill planes (kill planes are polygons that touching cause a death event, it generally exists under cliffs and falls) It is possible on another levels by avoiding the kill planes

I don't know if this new method is allowed on TSC SA2 FreeStyle, so I'm waiting an approval to post it
I decided to upload the fully footage, "like a single segment", so the video has no editing cuts
If you try to do this trick by causing an intentional death as Sonic, pass the Goal Ring and then get the Chao Key before the screen turns black you'll start on Sonic's part of Cannon's Core But with the time that you ended at Knuckle's part So I searched through the levels and found a way the get the Glitched Chao Key as Sonic (Note that this glitch only works if you play in 16/9 aspect ratio) And then when you finish the level with the Glitched Chao Key you'll start at Sonic's part of cannon's core and the clock will be 0
If you normally finish a level with the Glitched Chao Key you enter the test level
So, the trick is : Finish Cannon's core M2 as Knuckles, go to Pyramid Cave, go to the area where the 2nd Chao Box is, you can destroy the Chao Box first or later you decide... I think is easier to destroy it First. Then SuperBounce To the highest place of that area and press and hold L1+R1 or L2+R2 to block the camera and cast Sonic, then you have to get the Chao Key with the camera blocked, if done correctly you'll see the key spinning where was suppose to be a Chao's head. Then, Finish the level Note that if you select Pyramid Cave's M2 get the glitched key and finish the mission, you start at Sonc's Part of Cannon's Core but in M2, I think is the same for M3, M4 and M5, haven't tested it yet...
Also if you enter Sonic's part as Knuckles, Rouge, Eggman or even Shadow the game won't freeze, but you start under that upper rail and at that area and the game doesn't allow you to move the character
To Stop the Clock Permanently Spin Dash and pass through the time stop switch and take a good distance of it.

To pass through the lasers jump on its very side and quickly press the Analog Stick on the opposite direction of the side you chose, you'll be pushed throught the lasers If you want to pass trhough it by walking you have to get hit and once you get unvunerable walk toward the very side and press the analog stick on the opposite side you chose
At 2:08, to break through the watherfall hold up on the analog stick and keep pressing the jump button toward the watherfall I find this glitch kinda hard to perform, there seems to be a specific gap to break through 2:32 to break through the ceiling get hit and once you get unvulnerable you'll be able to jump through the ceiling
At 3:01 there is a specific gap on both sides of that object, so to break though it you have to find it and slowly walk toward it There is a way to find the gap, keep walking or slowly pressing the analog stick toward the corner of that object and once you get pushed and Knuckles stop slowly press the analog stick toward the object and you'll break through it
At the Sonic's part, to pass through the lasers simply aim and jump/walk toward the very sides of the lasers and you'll pass through it without getting damaged At 3:44 to somersault and pass under that thing while the liquid is running aproach the wall and press the analog stick almost in opposite direction of the wall and keep pressing the attack button, its kinda hard to find the right angle

The Video shows how to achieve 36"35 , which seems to be (at the moment) the the maximum possible time for this stage.
It seems that you gain by time jumping off of the platform before the "checkpoint" because you keep on boost mode for a few more time.
Jumping close to the curves saves time.
The closer you jump before the "checkpoint" the more time you gain.
But it seems that when you do a max possible jump Sonic jumps after passing the checkpoint
I've paused at 08"93 because if you press left/right before the speed pedal at 08"93 you get a max possible jump before the "checkpoint 1"
So pausing at 08"93, holding left/right and unpausing makes it easier, if you try 08"94 sonic won't jump
The jump before the "checkpoint 2" was done instinctively, when you are not in a straight route pausing/unpausing at random places is difficultSA2B Final Rush M1 1:48.72son1cgu1tar2011-09-26 | Played on a Gamecube and Recorded with a DVD Recorder

Thanks eyal1231 and DennisBalow for the wall run trick, ptorflaxendrosis for the shortcut at 1:13 and MidSoul(impossiblewww) for the shortcut at 1:38
To start running on the wall you can Jump+Bounce on that rail and then Jump+Bounce toward the wall, you will feel that Sonic is at "Vertical Gravity", then homing attack and Sonic will land on the wall. You can also just Bounce+Homing Attack on the rail and press the direction toward the wall on the Analog Stick, Sonic will 'fly' off the rail and will land on the wall, but this seems inconsistent, most of the times Sonic goes down instead
To switch from wall to wall just Jump+Bounce then Bounce+Attack toward the other wall
Spin Dashing on the wall is inconsistent, cause sometimes Sonic just spin instead of charging it and sometimes he loses the "Gravity" and falls
It looks like the wall run doesn't work on the DC version, Sonic gets pushed down when I try to land on the wall
The shortcut at 1:13, there are kill planes everywhere at that area, and since you can't see it is hard to 'fly' through that area without dieing

Recording Date : 2011/09/18
Looking at my previous video, I decided to improve it
It starts with a randomly dug up Magnetic Shield
It is a random value, so you can get it almost every attempts or expent 100 lives and don't see it
I think that what determines this random value is your in game input
I've opted for the Magnetic Shield because Meteor Herd has a lot of rings that aren't in capsules, Magnetic Shield makes it easy to obtain these rings
And also it makes it easy to get other rings like the ones at 2:23 and you have another chance if a meteor hit Knuckles
There's a spring inside the wall at 0:09 that can be touched be performing a Screw Kick at that spot
This seems to possible only on the DC version cause the Screw Kick's range was shortened on the GC version
And so the trick at 0:11 is only possible on DC
At 0:15 a fast pause/unpause trick is performed in order to save frames, to perform it press start then keep pressing A-Y-Start almost simultaneously till you select the right action

Thanks Yoshifan for the strategy
It starts with a randomly dug up Magnetic Shield
It is a random value, so you can get it almost every attempts or expent 100 lives and don't see it
I think that what determines this random value is your in game input
At 1:09 you'll see that 8 rings is obtained out of nothing, these are the invisible rings on the floor at 0:48 that only appear if Rouge put on the Treasure Scope, but if you walk toward them with the Magnetic Shield the invisible rings will be attracted and Rouge will grab them when she put on the Treasure Scope

Looking at my previous video, I decided to improve it
It starts with a randomly dug up Magnetic Shield
It is a random value, so you can get it almost every attempts or expent 100 lives and don't see it
I think that what determines this random value is your in game input
I've opted for the Magnetic Shield because the range of Screw Kick/Spiral Upper has been shortened on the GC version, making it hard to get the upper ring at 1:49
And also the Magnetic Shield makes it easy to get other rings like the single one at 1:06
(239/250) The Rings counter shows that 11 Rings are missed
One of them is below the starting point, below of a kill plane (Kill Planes are invisible polygons that if you touch will force a Death Event)
Here's a screen shot
Is possible to grab it but them the screen will start to fade cause you touched a kill plane, so is obtainable but impossible to finish the stage with it
And according to SadisticMystitc, the other missing 10 rings are located on the platform that I dug the Magnetic Shield, but the only way to make the rings appear is by playing the Mystic Melody at a nonexistent shrine
Done in 2 segments, is faster to do an intentional death, the clock resets to the time that you get the the last piece, and the Gravity Meteorite's gravity is low enough that you can jump and glide from the starting structure and get sucked in by the gravity, in order to get the 2nd piece (last obtained at the video)

Thanks blazest for the boss strategy
The trick is force the boss to turn back to that angle and then attack it, that way the boss will hover back and forth and you can attack it again without it hover to other area
The last hit is crucial, if you glide toward it when the boss is still invulnerable Rouge will bounce back and this will lose time

Thanks SadisticMystic for the glitch performed at 1:01 and Yoshifan for the path
Cosmic Wall is a level that the time is determined by how fast you ascend to the platforms
To break through the ceiling at 1:01 you have to jump hover and then press a specific direction on the analog stick
Then, press right on the analog stick to force the camera or else it will be facing backwards
Sometimes Eggman gets locked on that red lasers barrier, on GC version if he gets locked it seems that there's no way to release from it and if you release the A button he will land on the rail ride platform, but on DC version if he gets locked there you can avoind it by pressing UP on analog stick and releasing the A button
The break through the ceiling glitch allows you to hover through a good part of the stage, saving time, you don't need to ascend and then descend the area after the first rail ride
1:26 There is a kill plane (kill planes are invisible polygons that if you touch will force a death event) at the left of Eggman
On DC version, if you touch walls Eggman will descend faster, and slower on GC
But unfortunately the platforms at 0:34 and 2:18 doesn't exist on the DC version
If you step on that area at 2:30 Eggman will get a little tilted and he will descend faster if you touch the walls
SadisticMystic has made a path to hover from the ceiling before the first rail ride avoiding kill planes straight to the goal ring
It's possible to get close to and/or pass through that yellow corridor where the driller chases Eggman
If that corridor were solid inside I think it would be possible to land on it and Eggman would go down running fast, saving time
Unfortunately it is not solid, I'm not sure but I think the game makers do things not solid in order to save disc space
I've paused the game at 3:10 because the optical disc was reaching its maximum recording lenght time, then I switched discs and start recording again
The pause time was cutted out

Improvement of 5 seconds mainly thanks to a new Rouge's part strategy and better execution of the other parts
Thanks SadisticMystic for the glitches and tricks performed at this video and ReneBalow for the Rouge's Part
At 0:16 you can aim for the time switch from outside of that area, you just have to aim exactly toward it leaning on the wall
A pause/unpause trick is performed ir order to shoot missiles at exact frames
At 1:06 you can shoot the 2 enemies on that other area from there, just aim for the enemies, move away a bit and shoot
You will destroy the 2 enemies and the door/hatch will open early saving time
You have to wait for the black blocks to raise you up, so there's no way to save time at the beginning of Eggman's part
1:40 - A trick called Hover Jump is performed in order to reach certain places that were impossible with a normal Jump and Hover, making it possible to Jump Hover the height of 2 boxes
To perform it Jump and press A again as fast as possible
1:56 - A quick pause/unpause trick is performed in order to minimalize the frames between the 2 A presses making it possible to jump hover the height of 2 boxes and a half
To perform it Press A-Start and then Start-A almost simultaneously
Rouge's part, to jump and grab that object at 2:44 you have to jump at this spot
http://tinyurl.com/3b77t8o Then press Analog stick Up or toward that object instantly and rouge will grab that, note that this in inconsistent
Then to stop the time permanently you have to press the switch and drill dive as fast as you can, once you pass a certain spot time will be stoped permanently
Take care beacuse if you jump a certain height after you land on the ground the switch will start counting again
Knuckles part, to break through the level bounds at the first room you have to press the Analog Stick toward this spot
http://tinyurl.com/44x4ahz You can also force toward that corner and Knuckles will be pushed to that spot, then press Analog stick up to pass through
Then Proceed out of bounds
You can touch the switch at 3:49 from out of bounds, but take care because if you approach too much Knuckles will be sucked into the wall
At Sonic's part, to stop the time permanently just charge a Spin Dash, Release it, pass the switch taking a good distance of it
If you are wondering why I am collecting rings, this is a trick that I found, that way you can have unlimited attempts at Rouge, Knuckles and Sonic's part, and since the clock is stopped it doesn't loses time at all
