Having completed the 30 mile Snowbank Trail early, I drove back to the park service office and pulled a last second permit to hike the Angleworm Trail. The Angleworm Trail is one of my favorite Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) trails. Beautiful and a short 13 mile loop. Tired legs and a 6:00 pm start challenged me on this hike. While I have hiked this trail many times, the late start meant camping in a different campsite. The trail had more treefalls than usual and I crossed the beaver dam near the entry for the first time. Weather was great and I was exhausted when I finished... just the way I like it.
