Made for the 14th video challenge over at the Obidala Fan Forum with the theme "love-triangles"; came in third! Thanks to everyone who voted :D

STORY: Obi-Wan and Anakin are assigned to protect Senator Amidala of Naboo. Upon meeting her they are both instantly drawn to her. Obi-Wan soon becomes her friend and he starts to wish for something more when he realizes that Anakin and Padmé have already fallen in love. Anakin has also decided to leave the Jedi Order to be able to marry Padmé. Obi-Wan, heartbroken, leaves the pair with the excuse that he "is needed elsewhere". He leaves them a message on their answering-machine, which Padmé hears and then deletes.

The two do not meet until several years later when Padmé decides to return to Coruscant, despite the threat. Upon landing her ship is blown up but she survives thanks to having been placed on another ship, for safety reasons. Anakin dies as he was onboard the ship. Obi-Wan is the first to reach the crash-site and takes Padmé back to her quarters by the Senate, where he does his best to comfort her. He stays with her at all times and his old feelings start to come back, but thanks to Anakin's death he swears that he will never pursue them. One night Padmé finds him mourning his dead friend and the two become even closer.
On another night, after a few drinks and a long talk, Obi-Wan eventually kisses Padmé, which leads to them spending the whole night together. Upon falling asleep Obi-Wan has a vision of Anakin, who gives them his blessing. Obi-Wan wakes up happier than he has been in a long time and reveals to Padmé that he can now start a new life with her.
