Another live performance of my arrangement of a traditional Egyptian song, usually heard accompanied by the simsimiyya (the wire-strung traditional bowl lyre still popular in Egypt today) - but magically transported back in time in this video, to be heard instead, on my replica of an actual, surviving ancient Egyptian lyre; dating to circa 1,500 BC!

This lyre was reconstructed from the actual dimensions of this miraculously surviving ancient Egyptian lyre, by Luthieros:

The piece I am playing, is an arrangement of a traditional Egyptian folk song from Port Said, which I originally arranged for another of my lyres, featured as track 4 of my 2009 album, "An Ancient Lyre".
