I wanted to make a playthrough video of Who Tends A Garden like I did for Then and Library Fields, but unfortunately I couldn't find a practical way to do it with the granular synthesis involved in the official track. So I decided to put it to tape and "play the 4 track" with a couple of pedals.
The original plan was to play it in a garden, but in Canada in the middle of November that wasn't really possible. It was a nice day so I took it to the beach, set up a little stone pad to keep the sand away, and put down my pedals and tried it out. It worked really well I think!
Something I love about tape is the ease of detuning. As you hear in the second half that low detuning is so nice and satisfying. I may have to turn it into a lutes jennings track.
